Why did Judge Alex Kozinki block access to his website?

An obscenity trial of an adult film maker has been suspended in LA federal court after the LA Times exposed its presiding Judge, Alex Kozinski, aged 57, chief judge of the 9^th District U. S. Court of Appeals for posting sexually explicit materials on his website http://alex.kozinski.com.

The images included a naked women on all fours painted to look like a cow; a nude man cavorting with a obviously aroused farm animal; two woman with their skirts hiked up exposing their public hair and genitalia, and behind them a sign saying “Bush for President.” Kowinski according to the Times said of that image, ”That is a funny joke.”

Another image, the Judge described as humorous shows a nude man bent over a chair performing fellatio on himself. The website included other image of contortionist sex, and a step-by-step pictorial of a woman shaving her public hair.

HYPOCRITICALLY the Kowinski tried to blame some of the images on his adult son, said he doesn’t remember posting others, and said he didn’t think the images was obscene admitting it might be prurient.

In addition Kozinski’s website also contained copyright protected music files by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Weird Al Yankovich which could be a serious violation. According to today’s LA Times Kozinski has not replied to its inquiry on that matter.

Ironically the hypocrite Kozinski was presiding over a criminal case involving Ira Issac accused of distributing sexual fetish videos, including bestiality and defecation. Issac could get 20-years in prison. If so, it was not garden variety hypocrisy.

Federal judges serve for life, until impeached or voluntarily resign. Kozinski was appointed in 1985 by President Ronald Reagan, and has been discussed as a candidate for the U. S. Supreme Court.
