No Shortage of Hypocrites and Nincompoops In Jacksonville
City sends workers and prisoners to sandbag Council member and Congresswomans house - calling it humane gesture.
During the recent Hurricane Fay most Jacksonville, Florida residents fending for themselves - except for U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D- Jacksonville who had her house sandbagged by City workers and prisoners. A neighbor’s foundation flooded but when she asked for help she was ignored.
The same people wouldn’t help me and they denied it was going on,” the neighbor said. “I had prisoners laughing at me when I approached them about it. They knew what was going on. It was hilarious to them.”
The Mayor chief of staff apparently made the decision because Brown was “a single woman living alone.” He also sent a crew to City Councilwoman Denise Lee’s home, but Lee later determined she did not need their help.
A city councilman on Sunday joined what has become a storm of controversy over the special treatment extended to U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, when city work crews sandbagged her home as Tropical Storm Fay was bearing down on Jacksonville while hundreds of other residents were in even greater strife.
Hypocritically the aide says he knows he is a steward of taxpayer dollars, but he is also a human being. He said if he went beyond standard protocol, he apologizes. Brown said she will pay for services received - we shall see if she gets a bill and then pays it.
