Congressional Democrats Dance and Dither While Americans Drown
Inaction on Oil Causing Largest Transfer of Wealth in World’s History
Thursday seeking to spur oil companies to drill in already leased lands introduced a “use is or lose it law” apparently not knowing that is already the law. Congressional Democrats are scrambling to appear pro-drilling - hence the “Drill Act” title for Thursday’s bill - even as their leaders appear dead set against reversing the long-standing drilling bans along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Speaker Pelosi and Senator Feinstein pandered to Californians’ who according to a new Field Poll still oppose offshore drilling despite paying record high gasoline prices.
Rather than acting to unlock more oil Democrats have ranted about gouging, speculators, and of course what they say are sins of the Bush administration. Congressional job approval ratings have fallen to single digits as they dither and dawdle while motorists suffer.
The national debt is $9,512,671,965,066.07 (trillion) or $31,253.44 for every man, woman and child in the nation. And thanks primarily to inaction on domestic oil production it is increasing $1.73 billion a day. This will be the largest transfer of wealth in world history.
