Israel Favors McCain Calls Obama Risky
Soviet and Russian Persecution of Jews Ironic Given History
A new poll conducted in Israel after Obama’s visit found that 38 percent of respondents said they wanted McCain in the White House, 31 percent said Obama, and 31 percent had no opinion or refused to answer.
During his visit, Obama met with top Israeli politicians, visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and voiced a more hawkish stance on Iran, saying he would “take no options off the table” to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and asserting that “a nuclear Iran would be a game-changing situation not just in the Middle East but around the world.”
But not all Israelis were satisfied by Obama’s statements. Natan Sharansky, a former deputy Prime Minister, described Obama as a “risky” candidate for the Jewish state. American Jews favor Obama.
The pollster old the Boston Globe that several factors are problematic for Obama among Israeli Jews. He cited Obama’s willingness to meet with Iranian leaders as one.
A poll in Israel on May 15, before Hillary Clinton bowed out of the Democratic race, had McCain the preferred candidate over Obama by a margin of 43 percent to 20 percent, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The poll found that 18-to-24-year-olds preferred Obama by a 49 percent to 30 percent margin. A Gallup Poll in May found that American Jews preferred Obama over McCain, 61 percent to 32 percent.
Obama’s tepid response to the Russo-Georgian War is concerning Israelis. Jews are fleeing the fighting and many are enroute to Israel. Fear of repression and the opportunity for bettes lives have seen 23,287 individuals to immigrated to Israel from Georgia since 1989 under the auspices of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The irony of Soviet persecution of Jews that lingers today was underscored by Nobel laureate Alexander Solzhenitsyn, who died at 89 last week, in his last book Two Hundred Years Together, a history of the Jews in Russia, in which he emphasized the prominent contribution of Jewish revolutionaries to the Bolshevik seizure of power.
Watchdog Group Calls ACORN “Hypocritical”
Whistle blowers expose theft of $1 million, fraud and other scams
ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, which bills itself as the nation’s largest community organization of low and moderate income families “advocacy” group is largely taxpayer funded. It is once again under fire this time by the Consumer Right League (CRL) that has released a series of whistleblower documents showing commingling of government grants and using taxpayer money for ACORN’S often radical political activities.
In addition an ACORN executive is accused of embezzling more than $1 million but was not removed from his salaried job, prosecuted or forced to repay the funds. CRL also exposed ACORN for using tax money to make predatory home loans, and an array of fraud, corruption and abuse that CRL calls “hypocritical” and illegal.
ACORN has been accused of abuses in voter registration, and contributing to what has become widespread abuses including registering illegal aliens to vote. One investigation in Chicago revealed tens of thousands of unlawfully registered voters there. It is not immediately clear that ACORN was involved in that particular scheme but it has been named in a Los Angeles scam that registered people illegally.
Al-Qaeda Tape Calls For Use Of WMD’s Against US Targets
Jihadists urged to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West
The FBI issued a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies recently warning that al-Qaeda has made new threats to use weapons of mass destruction against U.S. targets. ABC News also reported that intelligence sources have confirmed that al-Qaeda plans to release a new video on the web sometime tomorrow. U.S. intelligence believes the terror group will advise its “jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West.”
An FBI spokesman confirmed the threat “calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians.” The U.S. has no “intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.,” the Bureau spokesman said. Still, the FBI has taken the precautionary step of alerting other agencies of the potential threat. It is widely believed that Syria has been hiding Saddam’s WMDs in the Bekaa Valley since 2003 and those weapons can be and perhaps already have been made available to the terrorists.

Within a few short years this candidate came out of relative political obscurity outside of his home state and lost almost a hundred pounds. Except for the last part and the (R) and his focus on his religious values, this story sounds a tiny bit like 15 years ago with another southern governor.
