Humit or Humint

DSC00069.JPGHumint is a more common and more accurate term. I do not care, I like humit best.

Either are a term meaning to the collection of various kinds of political or military information, ie, intelligence, through human sources. Most think of secret agents and their handlers back at the office.

Regardless, it involves exploiting individual weaknesses, imperfections, habits and the fear of their exposure or sometimes their strongly held ideology that differs from that of the country or employer they seem to serve. The purpose is for the handler, to get desired information.

A human activity possibly practiced as early as the invention of prostitution.

Interestingly, from the cold war days of some harsh non democratic covert action taken by the CIA and others, under the Democratic administrations of Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter and  Clinton (although Carter seemingly positions himself as mostly unaware, more than the others who were more likely just to shut up) the Democratic Party seem to have lead the dismantling of the dirty business of humit.

After all they did not think we should be taking advantage of individuals,  exploiting their weaknesses, habits and so on and especially their fear of the disclosure of those embarrassments; nor did they want to condone doing business, paying money for information to with those drug dealers who they say are destroying our neighborhoods; besides they do not want to in anyway be associated with a drug dealer who may be part of the supply chain for their own personal stash as they exercise their personal freedoms, both damning and championing the laws they make and violate.

Just stop this messy humit stuff.

Blame it on Bush for not having correct intelligence or better speech patterns for that matter.
