Slipping criticism past Soviet censors evolved into an art. If one looks at the 20th commemoration pin of Estonia there is already humor, as the pin was issued in 1960, 20 years AFTER Soviet intervention. You will also notice that the fringe on the flag is backwards, which in easter Europe holds the same significance as an upside down flag in the US.
It is a little thing, but about all a repressed, intelligent and well read populace can do without assistance.
HYPOCRISY HYSTERIA AWARD CHAMPIONS
Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, reluctantly admits that there has been no global warming so far In the 21st century.
Climate scientist Noel Keenlyside, leading a team from Germany’s Leibniz Institute of Marine Science and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology, for the first time entered verifiable data on ocean circulation cycles into one of the U. N.’s climate supercomputers, and the machine spit out a projection that there will be no more warming for the foreseeable future.
Mr. Keenlyside– long a man-made global warming theory proponent — was quick to add that after 2015 (or perhaps 2020 or maybe 2030), warming would “resume” with a vengeance.
Almost no climate scientist who backed the alarmism ever expected warming would take anything like a 10 or 15-year hiatus.
Last year, in the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicted a 0.3-degree C rise in temperature in the coming decade — not a cooling or even just temperature stability. Its previous report in 2001 prominently displaced the so-called temperature “hockey stick” that purported to show temperature pretty much plateauing for the thousand years before 1900, then taking off in the 20th Century in a smooth upward line. No 10-year dips backwards were foreseen.
It is drummed into us, ad nauseum, that the IPCC represents 2,500 scientists who together embrace a “consensus” that man-made global warming is a “scientific fact;” and as recently as last year, they didn’t see this cooling coming. So the alarmists can’t weasel out of this by claiming they said this cooling would occur. Baloney
Global temperatures have been falling for a decade. All of which means, that by 2015 or 2020, when warming is expected to resume, we will have had nearly 20 years of steady cooling.
Saints of the new climate religion, such as Global warming’s dashboard statue Al Gore, has stated that eight of the 10 years since 1998 are the warmest on record. Even if that were true, and it is not the trend of the past decade has been downward, not upward.
Last year, for instance, saw a drop in the global average temperature of nearly 0.7 degrees C (the largest single-year movement up or down since global temperature averages have been calculated). That’s despite advanced predictions that 2007 would be the warmest year on record, made by such UN associates as Britain’s Hadley Centre, a government climate research agency,
2007 was the coolest year since at least 1993.
According to the U. S. National Climatic Data Center, the average temperature of the global land surface in January 2008 was below the 20th-Century mean for the first time since 1982.
Also in January, Southern Hemisphere sea ice coverage was at its greatest summer level (January is summer in the Southern Hemisphere) in the past 30 years.
Neither the 3,000 temperature buoys that float throughout the world’s oceans nor the eight NASA satellites that float above our atmosphere have recorded appreciable warming in the past six to eight years. Even Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the IPCC, reluctantly admitted

Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966.
The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January “was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average.”
China is surviving its most brutal winter in a century. Temperatures in the normally balmy south were so low for so long that some middle-sized cities went days and even weeks without electricity because once power lines had toppled it was too cold or too icy to repair them.
There have been so many snow and ice storms in Ontario and Quebec in the past two months that the real estate market has felt the pinch as home buyers have stayed home rather than venturing out looking for new houses.
In just the first two weeks of February, Toronto received 70 cm of snow, smashing the record of 66.6 cm for the entire month set back in the pre-SUV, pre-Kyoto, pre-carbon footprint days of 1950.
And remember the Arctic Sea ice? The ice we were told so hysterically last fall had melted to its “lowest levels on record? Never mind that those records only date back as far as 1972 and that there is anthropological and geological evidence of much greater melts in the past.
The ice is back.
Gilles Langis, a senior forecaster with the Canadian Ice Service in Ottawa, says the Arctic winter has been so severe the ice has not only recovered, it is actually 10 to 20 cm thicker in many places than at this time last year.
OK, so one winter does not a climate make. It would be premature to claim an Ice Age is looming just because we have had one of our most brutal winters in decades.
But if environmentalists and environment reporters can run around shrieking about the manmade destruction of the natural order every time a robin shows up on Georgian Bay two weeks early, then it is at least fair game to use this winter’s weather stories to wonder whether the alarmist are being a tad premature.
And it’s not just anecdotal evidence that is piling up against the climate-change dogma.
According to Robert Toggweiler of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at Princeton University and Joellen Russell, assistant professor of biogeochemical dynamics at the University of Arizona — two prominent climate modellers — the computer models that show polar ice-melt cooling the oceans, stopping the circulation of warm equatorial water to northern latitudes and triggering another Ice Age (a la the movie The Day After Tomorrow) are all wrong.
“We missed what was right in front of our eyes,” says Prof. Russell. It’s not ice melt but rather wind circulation that drives ocean currents northward from the tropics. Climate models until now have not properly accounted for the wind’s effects on ocean circulation, so researchers have compensated by over-emphasizing the role of manmade warming on polar ice melt.
But when Profs. Toggweiler and Russell rejigged their model to include the 40-year cycle of winds away from the equator (then back towards it again), the role of ocean currents bringing warm southern waters to the north was obvious in the current Arctic warming.
Last month, Oleg Sorokhtin, a fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, shrugged off manmade climate change as “a drop in the bucket.” Showing that solar activity has entered an inactive phase, Prof. Sorokhtin advised people to “stock up on fur coats.”
He is not alone. Kenneth Tapping of our own National Research Council, who oversees a giant radio telescope focused on the sun, is convinced we are in for a long period of severely cold weather if sunspot activity does not pick up soon.
The last time the sun was this inactive, Earth suffered the Little Ice Age that lasted about five centuries and ended in 1850. Crops failed through killer frosts and drought. Famine, plague and war were widespread. Harbours froze, so did rivers, and trade ceased.
It’s way too early to claim the same is about to happen again, but then it’s way too early for the hysteria of the global warmers, too.
Separation of Church and State Really of Religion and Politics.
Separation of church and state was really about separating religion from politics. Before mass media and the internet most Americans heard the news at church and then disseminated it to friends and neighbors. To have someone in a pulpit espouse an idea was tantamont to approval from on high.
The English tradition was originally a church inhabited by the nitwit siblings with less knowledge or ability than an alder brother, and virtually no theological training or even intent. The Puritans, as odd as they may have been, resisted mixing political ideology with what they saw as theology.
Now comes the personal resurrection campaign of Rev. Wright that has put a political expedient Barack Obama who used that church when it was convenient for his ambitions in a tight spot. Irrespective of the relative narcissism of that pair it underscores separation of the religious and the political.
Republicans and Hillary Clinton are giddy watching this brace of monumental egos make the other look hypocritical. Obama tossed Wright overboard Tuesday, and looks all the more duplicitous and disingenuous.

Chicago is a war zone with 32 Shot, 2 Stabbed, and 6 Dead – last weekend. One incident involved a man with an AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifle in a shootout with police. Friday night two teens were gunned down in front of a church. Police helicopters routinely patrol so-called “hot zones” where gang infestation is worst. The greatest of the mostly ethnic gang provoked and inflamed by hate mongering and is largely on Chicago’s south side exceeding anything experienced during the mob violence of the Al Capone era. It is a St. Valentine’s Day massacre every weekend.

Maximum “Bleeding” Time 4-Hours For England’s E-Rooms.
England’s much touted socialized health care system is teetering on the brink of complete collapse. It has become so bad that a new law sets a maximum of 4-hours wait for care in a Hospital Emergency Room.
To avoid prosecution patients are often kept outside so the 4-hour clock does not start or they are left languishing in an ambulance outside – sometimes until they die. Patients routinely wait months or even longer for care, and some do not get even life saving treatment. Meanwhile costs have skyrocketed.
Is Barack Obama Henry Wallace Reincarnate?
The Democrat presidential nomination dog and cat fight between Clinton and Obama continues to be a fur ball this week with charges and counter charges flying over Obama’s creepy extraction from Karl Marx’s 1867 communist manifesto Das Kapital [das kapi’ta’l] about religion and the proletariat.
Never before, not even by the so-called American Progressive Party (the political party of Communist Party USA) candidates, has anyone used such an alarming and perhaps elitist equivalence.
Perhaps the last time any major candidate espoused such an ideological notion was the 1948 election when Henry Wallace, who had served as Secretary of Agriculture and Vice-President under Franklin D. Roosevelt. Wallace opposed the Cold War, the Marshall Plan and Big Business. H.L. Mencken and Dorothy Thompson, accused the Progressives of being covertly controlled by Communists. Several leading figures of the Progressive Party (such as socialist leader Norman Thomas) quit the party in protest over what they perceived as the undue influence Communists exerted over Wallace.
It is an eerie coincidence that Wallace, like Obama, fell under the influence of a religious radical. Wallace, who was raised Presbyterian, left the church and became closely associated with the Russian theosophist Nicholas Roerich. According to Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., “Wallace’s search for inner light took him to strange prophets.”
Legend is that J. Edgar Hoover confronted FDR over his Vice President’s pro-communist sympathies, and ideas not in America’s best interest and threatened to expose Wallace and FDRs own dalliances and forced him to pick another Vice President in 1943. Of course FDR did pick Harry Truman and America barely escaped a Wallace presidency when FDR died April 12, 1945.

Pinocchiobama – in 1996, Barack Obama’s campaign answered a questionnaire saying he favored bans on manufacturing and selling of guns, opposed parental notification of abortions for minors, and opposed the death penalty. When asked about that, Obama threw his campaign staff under the bus, claiming the staff had sent in the questionnaire. He issued a blanket denial that he had ever held those positions. Except that is not true. As Human Events RedState noted, a review of the actual questionnaire shows “that [Obama] reviewed the answers closely revising some of the answers in his own handwriting.”
Obama claims to be the only one willing to re-engage the Taliban. He faults the Bush Administration for depleting the number of military personnel in Afghanistanand claims we need to increase the number of ground forces to 92,000 troops, something Obama says the Bush administration is opposed to. Funny how Secretary of Defense Robert Gates offered the exact same policy prescription and number of troops back in 2007. Obama said, “John McCain got upset today apparently because I had repeated exactly what he said, which is that we might be there [Iraq] for 100 years if he had his way.” Only, that is another lie. As RedState documented, the Washington Post’s FactCheck, the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s nonpartisan FactCheck.org, and the Columbia Journalism Review all report Obama’s words were grossly misleading. The Annenberg Public Policy Center called Obama’s statement a “serious distortion to the point of rank falsehood.” In Pennsylvania, Obama is running a television ad saying, “I’m Barack Obama. I don’t take money from oil companies or Washingtonlobbyists, and I won’t let them block change anymore.” Fact is no federal candidate can accept money from a corporation – no one. But, Obama has dodged that law cashing $213,000 in checks from oil company employees. Obama conceded Saturday that his comments about working class voters who cling to guns or religion were “ill chosen.” Others point to his remarks as insightful of his core beliefs.

Who Do You Trust?
Reporters who accompanied Hillary Clinton on her 1996 trip to Bosnia knew that her claim of having come under sniper fire was false, yet none of them said a word until Rich Noyes of the conservative Media Research Center’s NewsBusters blog reported that media accounts at the time described the peaceful ceremony when Clinton landed. Six days after the NewsBusters report CBS Evening News ran the video and its reporter came forward.
The media love Obama,” a reporter told Newsmax’s Ron Kessler when he asked why his efforts to expose Rev. Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ and its so-called Black Value System had been rebuffed. “If you want to do a critical story about him, you are considered by the network to be biased, ” she told him.
Yet The New York Times ran a page one story insinuating that there was something wrong with John McCain’s relationship with a pretty female lobbyist, even though no favors were exchanged and no one had sex.
Kessler writing on Newsmax.com says, “The marketplace is holding the mainstream media accountable. While competition from the internet has been the biggest factor, the decline of what Laura Ingraham calls the “dinosaur media” is in part because readers simply don’t trust it.”
ABSOLUT(E) FAUX PAS LEADS TO FURBALL.
MEXICO CITY — The Swedish Absolut vodka company apologized Saturday for an ad campaign depicting the
southwestern U.S. as part of Mexico amid angry calls for a boycott by U.S. consumers.
The campaign, which promotes ideal scenarios under the slogan “In an Absolut World,” showed a 1830s-era map when Mexico included California, Texas and other southwestern states. Mexico still resents losing that territory in the 1848 Mexican-American War and the fight for Texas independence.
Radical groups still contend the southwestern U. S., including California and even Oregon, is territory that should be reconquered by Mexico. Pundits often cite the “invasion” of illegal Mexicans and others that have flooded across the southern U. S. border as an artifact of reconquest.
COURT DUMPS TIME & MURTHA CRUCIFIXION OF MARINE
Time magazine and Rep. John Murtha (D) Pennsylvania have jointly crusaded to crucify Lance Cpl. Stephan Tatum for actions related to Haditha, Iraqbut last week all charges were dropped against the Marine and Time and Murtha look even worse for it. The pair sparked a legal and media inquisition against eight courageous United States Marines. Both Time and Murtha claimed these Marines committed cold-blooded murder in Haditha in 2005 and conspired to cover it up. $40 million in taxpayer money later all the Marines have been exonerated of murder or war crimes.
Based on Time’s unsubstantiated allegations alone, Murtha publicly charged the Marines had gone on a rampage to avenge the killing of their comrade. Murtha said: “Well there’s no question in my mind, what happened was an IED exploded. It killed one Marine. And then a taxi drives up. When the taxi comes up there’s four of five people in it. And they shoot … shoot those four or five people unarmed. Time and Murtha were dead wrong in their charges. For that both Time and Murtha deserve the Hypocrisy.com H. A. Award. As the mascot for the award symbolizes this bastardy brace produces something from the southern end of a northbound horse.
Blackened Eyes of Texas…
Desiring an honor code the University of Texas at San Antonio appointed a student committee to draft one promptly plagiarized it, partly word-for-word, from Brigham Young University. The BYU code credited a conference five years ago put on by The Center for Academic Integrity at Clemson but the UTSA version credited neither. The student currently in charge of the honor code project said it was an “oversight”, sagaciously observing the UTSA didn’t want an HONOR CODE that was stolen. The blackened eyes of Texas are upon you.
Thousands of Karina “Victims” Collected As Much As $150,000 Undeserved
As many as 5,000 Katrina victims may have received tens of thousands of dollar more than they were entitled to due to what appears to be incompetence of a private contractor charged with dispensing taxpayer monies to them. The average amount of overpayment is estimated to be approximately $35,000, but in some cases may be as high as $100,000 to $150,000. In the rush to pay residents the $11 billion program almost inevitably ran afoul. Now the government wants those over-payments back amid cries, moaning and more than a little political posturing.
Some of the recipients have spent the funds on extravagance and collecting the misappropriated taxpayer money will be fraught with charges of mistreatment and unfairness. This is a boondoggle of epic proportions and it is likely that the U. S. taxpayer will be the ultimate victims once more as “victims” enjoy exotic vacations and Cadillacs paid for by the real victims.
Oregon Speaker Kisses Teachers’ Butts Is Hypocrite.
Oregon House Speaker Jeff Merkley voted against Oregon’s charter school legislation pontificating about fairness in education, what a great job teachers’ unions were doing and other pomposities while grabbing with both hands for teachers’ union money. He lost. Then, he and his wife secretly applied to send two of their kids to a newly forming charter school. The school was late in starting up, so he lost again as the application wasn’t acted on. Merkley denied the report at first but a newspaper produced the application making him look dumber and more hypocritical than usual.
Governors Switzer, Paterson and McGreevy In Sex Scandals
New York’s brand new Governor David Paterson set an all time record for a sex scandal admitting less than one day after taking office that he and his wife both have had extramarital affairs that continued for years. His predecessor, Eliot Spitzer. resigned after his ten year $80,000 use of high priced prostitutes was exposed. The Patterson’s say they successfully took marriage counseling and have ended those sexual liaisons.
Dina Matos McGreevy, the former New Jersey Governor’s soon-to-be ex-wife, set the standard for the grieving wife standing by your man when he announced to the world that he was homosexual and was cheating on his wife. She said she had no idea he was “gay” but now hypocritically newspaper reports say she participated in weekly three-way gay sex escapades they named Friday Night Specials. Dina has denied the three way sex parties so it looks like it will be her word against the two men.
MARCH MADNESS OFFICE POOL COULD LAND YOU IN JAIL.
California Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries reminds you – if you run a MARCH MADNESS pool you’re breaking the law and could go to jail. Hypocritically California runs a lottery, allows card clubs and horse racing and casino gambling on Indian reservations just OK-ing 17,000 more “one-armed bandits” but would punish you if you run an five dollar office pool. Jeffries has introduced a bill not to legalize such pools but make running one punishable by a fine but no jail time. A grand irony and stunning hypocrisy is that California (and other bureacracies) has trouble making its lottery profitable, and may lease it even though the organized crime run “Numbers” paid out better than the lotteries do but was criminalized because it took advantage of the poor. Of course no other egal forms of gambling do.
HILLARY USED FERRARO TO ATTACK OBAMA
Dick Morris, as Dick Morris.com, says it was Hillary Clinton that send Geraldine Ferraro after Barack Obama. Ferraro esigned her volunteer fund rasing position with the Clinton campaign ater the defecaton hit the impeller.
“The blunt fact is that Geraldine Ferraro would not make a statement like this one without at least the tacit knowledge and acquiescence of the Clintons and their campaign. Ferraro is an old pro and would know enough not to shoot off her mouth without making it part of a carefully conceived strategy to discredit Obama based on race, ” said Morris on Monday.
“Hillary is trying, through her surrogate Ferraro, to make it appear that all Obama had to do was show up, show some skin and win,” says onetime Clintonesta, Morris, ” Even for the Clintons, this is a new low. ”
The whole affair is the product from the sourthern end of a northbound horse.
Obama Nodded Agreement to Wright Hate-Speak- Judgment Fatally Flawed
Barack Obama claims he never heard his pastor Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. preach hatred of America are not true.
Obama was in the pews last July 22 when Wright blamed the “white arrogance” of America’s Caucasian majority for the world’s suffering, especially the oppression of blacks. Obama issuing a statement Friday (March 14, 2008) rejecting Wright’s hate speak as “inflammatory and appalling.” But, according to a report by a new report by Newsmax’s Ron Kessler he did not renounce Wright himself for his repeated, venomous and paranoid denunciations of America.
Last weekend Obama claimed on cable television that when he saw recent videos showing Wright making comments including “God damn America,” he was “shocked.” Obama implied Wright had not used such hateful language when Obama was in church at any time over the past two decades. In fact a NEWSMAX correspondent, Jim Davis, attended services along with Obama last July 22nd when the “Caucasian majority” statement was made.
That day, Wright tore into America, referring to the “United States of White America” and lacing his sermon with expletives as Obama listened and nodded agreement and did not walk out. Wright’s anti-white theology that Senator Obama expressed surprise over is everywhere on the church’s website espousing what it calls the Black Value System, described as a disavowal of “our racist competitive society” and the pursuit of “middle-classness.” It says American society “snare(s)” blacks rather than “killing them off directly” or “placing them in concentration camps,” just as the country structures “an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons.”
Howard University Wright said America started the AIDS virus, trains professional killers, imports drugs, shamelessly supports Israel, and creates a racist society that would never elect a black man as president. Wright’s Church’s magazine, that his daughter edits, extols radical Louis Farrakhan who has called calling Judaism a “gutter religion.” Whites, and America he has called whites “blue-eyed devils” and the “anti-Christ.” He has described Jews as “bloodsuckers” who control the government, the media, and some black organizations.
Obama has campaigned for the Presidency saying what he lacks in experience e more than makes up in judgment. He has said Wright is a crazy uncle. We do not pick our relatives but we must be accountable for our friends, and so must Obama.
“Dickie” Joins Spitzer In Humiliation of Pillory
Richard “Dickie” Scruggs, 61, the so-called “King of Torts” pleaded guilty to Federal charges of trying to bribe a Mississippi judge for a favorably ruling on $26.5 million in attorney fees in connection with a lawsuit involving Hurricane Katrina victims whose insurance company’s denied their claims. He could go to jail and will lose his law license. Scruggs has extracted billion-dollar settlements from the tobacco and asbestos industries, among others. Scruggs and former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer are both considered tormentors on Wall Street. Scruggs son and law partner Zach and apparently two others are also charged. Zach’s case, at least, will go to trial. Another attorney and the State Auditor are charged but cooperated, one wearing a wire, during the $50,000 payoff. What will happen to the Judge, with the unfortunate name of Lackey, is unclear.
Scruggs is politically wired and is brother-in-law of former Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., and a big political contributor to many others.
Coal Rush Sends Prices To New Records While U. S. Dithers.
China and even Persian Gulf countries are building coal fired power plants. China is demanding more coking coal for steel making in addition to thermal coal for power generation. For the first time last year China imported more coal than it exported.
This could be good news for the U. S. with 27% of the world’s coal reserves. But, the coal industry is more of a perceived pariah that oil producers.
Although others are going full tilt into coal and U. S. is roping off much of its deposits from export or use in domestic power production. Coking coal is virtually ignored in the U. S. since its steel industry has almost disappeared since World War II.
OPEC cites the unwillingness to use its own oil and coal reserves when refusing to raise production. Humans have used ONE TRILLION BARRELS of petroleum of TWELVE BILLION known to exist. Coal, tar sands, a oil shale reserves exceed all liquid reserves, and much of those reserves are in North America but it too is roped off by regulations and government policies.
NEW YORK GOVERNOR LINKED TO $5,500 A HOUR PROSTITUTE RING.
New York’s Democrat Governor and onetime crusading District Attorney Eliot Spitzer, 49, has confessed to being linked to a prostitution ring. Spitzer is married and has three children. Spitzer had been discussed as a possible Vice Presidential nominee.
Last week the high-class prostitution ring revolving around the EMPORER’S VIP CLUB was busted by federal officials. Prostitutes changed as much as $5,500 an hour for sex. Spitzer is apparently listed as client #9 in records of the ring. Its website advertised its services as Emporer’s VIP Club.
A couple month’s ago Spitzer ignited a firestorm by proposing to give illegal aliens New York Driver’s licenses and was forced to withdraw the idea. Mr. Spitzer gained national attention when he served as attorney general with his relentless pursuit of Wall Street wrongdoing and prostitution rings. HYPOCRITE.
