he commentariat says South Carolina is not as important as it once was – heretofore always forecasting the Presidential nominees – so Saturday’s Republican primary, while important was more a spring board for the Florida primary on January 29th than the harbinger it once was. Nevertheless it was a big win for the Lazarus-like McCain that staggered Huckabee and wounded Romney and terminally so, Thompson. Thompson has been branded McCain’s cat’s paw and while that seems fallacious he should drop out as Duncan Hunter did Saturday.

She Found Her Vioice In New Hamnpshire

Mary Pickford found her voice tooLive Free of DieHillary Clinton’s “crying jag” in New Hampshire turned out to be an anti-Ed Muskie-like moment. Frank Luntz says his focus groups were with her until she sniffed back the tears and attacked Obama and then she lost their support as calculating and disingenuous. But, most media coverage did NOT include the latter and the incident helped her. She was clearly frustrated and that frustration is borne by her Joan-of-Arc conviction she is divinely correct, and only she can see the future where she is enthroned. Such is her troubling megalomaniacal conviction. Nevertheless to argue tears didn’t help her would be foolish – because empathetic women responded and gave her the win. But, it will not work again.

Yes we can, Yes we can, despite New Hampshire Loss

Newsmax John LeBoutillier on New Hampshire

Kiss kissNewsmax’s John LeBoutillier gives this gritty post
New Hampshire assessment paraphrased as follows: McCain’s support is among the so-called mainstream media, independent voters, and a thin slice of Democrats. Romney is an empty suit – when you look deep into his eyes all you see is the back of his head. Huckabee is a damn good candidate but he doesn’t have broad enough support. Ron Paul isn’t getting anywhere. Fred Thompson is a political dead man. Hizzoner Rudy is fading fast. Maybe the Republican candidate hasn’t even started yet.

New Hampshire Comeback Kids Hillary and McCain

That was fastDennis Kucinich’s spaceship dropped him off just long enough for another concession speech while serious candidates in New Hampshire licked their wounds, spun and/or puffed. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson will official fold his pup tent today and be consigned to the ash heap of Presidential politics. The spinners were hard at work and almost everyone else found something to crow about. The chief crowers were: John McCain who decisively won among the GOP contenders and Hillary Clinton who upset Obama. This is a BIG win for both and accurately predicted for McCain by polling but NOT for Clinton about whom polling was almost universally wrong. Some think Obama went to a four corner defense playing keep away like in the final seconds of a basketball game trying to sit on his lead and lost. The Battle of Obama is about to begin and he better have asbestos underwear.

Muted Press Reaction Points to Press Disappointment

Hills (D)Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman were visibly muted in their response to the Clinton win in New Hampshire because they did have a dog in this hunt and theirs did not win. So shocked were they that they quietly listened to Tom Brokaw lecture them about trying too hard to predict with polls what the voter is going to do.

“People are not as honest with polls anymore” Brokaw lectured.

The Election is all about the Voter

O’Bomer (D)The O’Bomer said tonight belongs to the staff and the organizers and nothing can stand in the way of the millions of voices callling for change. They will only grow louder he asserts. “There has never been anything false about hope” he rallied his troops.

“Yes we can, yes we can.”

48 States and We’re back to the Future

JohnWords (D)John Edwards said that after Iowa he congratulated Hills and the Obomer (although I did not see that in his speech my self) and after this New Hampshire Primary where he slipped even further from the two front runners, he congratulated them again. He said 99% of the voters in 48 more states still have to speak and they will hear his message and he will become the next President of the United States.

VP maybe, but not Pres.

Michael Moore Mourns

What Scared Him?…the Hillary Clinton win in the New Hampshire Primary. After Iowa and some obviously wrongheaded polls, it looked like the Obama Bandwagon was picking up speed. Enough speed to give real concern to R. First Dude, who by the way, was praised by Michael Moore as a pretty good Republican president.

Moore’s mourning the recently unexpected outcome in New Hampshire, is likely to be reflected here.

Democratic Press “Hills, uh, has too much exerperience”

Press is like Girls? The Clinton Machine, not for the first time, has been taken back by relatively small numbers of Iowas voters.

But that is not the real problem for the Clinton Machine to overcome this time.

BIG TOOTHED SMALL NEWSPAPER.

The Concord, New Hampshire newspaper took a big bite out of Romney’s chances there calling him a “disquieting figure,” the New Hampshire newspaper’s editorial board said he looks and acts like a presidential contender but “surely must be stopped” because he lacks the core philosophical beliefs to be a trustworthy president. Its anti-endorsement is its first and generally rare for any newspaper.
