Watching Obama flit around the globe begging other nations to ramp up their energy production with billions of U.S. dollars is not just embarrassing; it’s incomprehensible given the extraordinary, untapped energy reserves available right here at home, especially in Alaska.
Now the administration seems to be moving even more U.S. dollars to Brazil. In a little-covered story from a few days ago, it was revealed that the Air Force has turned down the bid from American aircraft manufacturer Hawker Beechcraft to produce a light attack armed reconnaissance aircraft. Hawker Beechcraft is based in Kansas and employs around 1,400 workers in 20 states. According to the company, $100 million had been invested over a two-year period in working with the Air Force in developing its AT-6 aircraft.
The winner of the nearly $1 billion dollar decision to terminate Hawker appears to be the Brazilian aircraft company Embraer and its “Super Tucano” airplane. It’s odd that the Air Force would prefer U.S. pilots to fly in war zones in planes constructed in Brazil by Brazilian workers. Stranger yet, the favored company, Embraer, has recently been placed under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission for corruption.
Some think Obama has pressured Brazil, or paid its off, and pushed USAF into the choice.
A NYC School District has banned saying “Merry Christmas.” Inasmuch as it is one of the poorest performing Districts anywhere — perhaps they should concentrate on why they were elected tothat body,
President Barack Obama has one of the worst approval ratings of any president in modern political history.
Obama’s 43 percent rating in Gallup’s daily presidential job approval index is far below Democrat Jimmy Carter’s 51 percent at the same point in his presidency. Carter has been considered one of the 20th century’s worst presidents, according to the index.
Political experts consider the ratings a crystal ball with the potential for predicting a president’s chances for re-election.
Historically, it has been difficult for incumbents to remain in office if their approval ratings are below 47 percent. At this same stage of Dwight Eisenhower’s term, the popular Republican president had an approval rating of 78 percent.
Bedard chronicles the approval ratings of other presidents at this point in their presidencies:
- Harry S. Truman - 54 percent
- Lyndon B. Johnson - 44 percent
- Richard M. Nixon - 50 percent
- Ronald Reagan - 54 percent
- George H.W. Bush - 52 percent
- Bill Clinton - 51 percent
- George W. Bush - 55 percent.
Gallup finds that Obama’s overall job approval rating so far has averaged 49 percent. Only three former presidents have had a worse average rating at this stage: Carter, [Gerald] Ford, and Harry S. Truman. Only Truman won re-election in an anti-Congress campaign that Obama’s team is using as a model.”

Obama used “stimulus” money to fund projects associated with the domestic terror group Weather Underground and terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, according to the recently released book: “Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America.” It contains contains new information about Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s own radical ties while revealing how stimulus funds also went to a school founded by the mother of top White House adviser and notorious radical Valerie Jarrett.
”Red Army” authors Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott dedicate two chapters to investigating Obama’s education policies. In one revelation, the book details how the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, or ARRA, provided $650 million to the Investing in Innovation Fund, or i3, as it is called. That year, Duncan announced his agency was accepting applications for i3 grants from educational nonprofits, individual school districts or groups of districts.
“Red Army: The Radical Network that must be defeated to save America” exposes the extremists behind Occupy Wall Street along with the radical socialist network that seized political power in Washington over decades, shaped Obama’s presidential agenda and threatens the very future of the U.S.
The book documents how Obama and othger progressive Democrats are deliberately overloading the U.S. financial system, using socialist designs to remake the economy.
With nearly 1,500 endnotes, it documents how with Obama these and other leftist radicals( including the notorious Rev. Wright aim to remake the America with massive government control.

The four-Katyusha rocket fired from S. Lebanon which hit Galilee in northern Israel in the small hours of Tuesday, Nov. 29, was initiated by Hizballah commanders in South Lebanon although it was claimed by the al Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades. Hizballah activated a Palestinian cell it controls in the Ain Hilwa refugee camp near Sidon on behalf of its ally in Damascus, arming the cell with the rockets and marking out their firing positions and targets in Israel’s Galilee.
One Katyusha blew up near the border, two inside a Galilee moshav damaging a hen coop and a fourth in a wood outside Maalot, causing damage but no injuries.Israeli artillery returned the fire.
Officers in the IDF northern command familiar with the terrain across the border, assert that those firing positions are located in a sector under Hizballah’s exclusive control. It is off limits to any outsiders without the Iran-backed Shiite group’s permission and knowledge.
IDF sources read the rocket attack as the Assad regime’s last warning to the US, fellow NATO members and Gulf nations that Israel would be first to pay the price for their planned intervention in Syria. It would trigger a Lebanese-Israel border clash followed by a massive rocket assault on Israel. More Katyusha incidents are therefore to be expected to emphasize the message.
German troops coined the sobriquet Stalin’s organ (German: Stalinorgel), after Soviet leader Joseph Stalin for its visual resemblance to a church musical organ and alluding to the sound of the weapon’s rockets being fired in volleys. The rockets are now a 91-year old design and are unguided.

A new round of sanctions against Syria puts significant international pressure on Moscow and Damascus. As Russia’s strategic and economic interests in Syria come into increasingly conflict with resounding calls for democracy and human rights in Syria, relations between Moscow and the West are likely to rapidly deteriorate since Moscow will continue to resist cutting its ties to Syria.
Moscow once again condemned international involvement in the ongoing Syrian conflict on November 25, just two days before the Arab League imposed a new round of sanctions against President Bashar al-Assad and his regime’s eight-month-long military crackdown on the Syrian opposition. During a press conference, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich advocated internal dialogue between opposition forces and the Assad regime rather than foreign intervention, according to Reuters. The newest round of sanctions was passed by 19 of the Arab League’s 22 members after Assad refused to sign an agreement by November 25 to allow independent monitors entry into the country. Yesterday, thousands of Syrian protestors backed by the Assad regime took to the streets to rally against the new sanctions.

New York City Comptroller John Liu has a close relationship with a Chinese Communist Party front group, raising concerns about China’s influence in the United States, according to a report in the Epoch Times newspaper.
Liu, whose fundraising is under investigation by authorities in New York, represents the “face” of China’s United Front Work Department, a Party intelligence and influence peddling bureau, the newspaper quoted a former New York City police official who worked in the Chinese community as saying.
The United Front uses overseas Chinese to infiltrate foreign politics and establish community associations, business groups, and media to promote the interests of the CCP around the world, the newspaper reports.
The front group cultivates agents of influence who promote Chinese propaganda and policy themes.
According to the report, Liu met with Xu Yousheng, a top director of the United Front operation, officially called Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, during a sponsored trip to China in 2007.
The Epoch Times is published by the Falun Gong, an anti-communist Buddhist-oriented spiritual group that opposes China’s ruling Communist Party.
THE OLDEST president inaugurated was Reagan (age 69); the youngest was Kennedy (age 43). Theodore Roosevelt, however, was the youngest man to become president–he was 42 when he succeeded McKinley, who had been assassinated.
The Chinese Communist Party leadership has toned down its aggressive rhetoric regarding the South China Sea in an apparent effort to blunt the growth of Washington’s “anti-China containment policy.”
During his recent tour of Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia, Obama gave indirect support to the claims of several Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members to islets in the South China Sea, almost all of which Beijing claims are its territory.
Apart from moral support for attempts by the Philippines to “internationalize” the South China Sea issue, Obama finalized the sale of 24 F-16 jetfighters to Indonesia in addition to getting Canberra’s approval for stationing up to 2,500 U.S. Marines in the northern Australia port of Darwin.
At the ASEAN East Asia Summit in Bali last week, senior Chinese leaders seemed to be playing up the possibilities of win-win scenarios. In his ASEAN speech, Premier Wen Jiabao indicated that Beijing would stick to the principle of “friendly negotiation and consultation in a peaceful way” to resolve South China Sea disputes. He reiterated China’s commitment to the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC), which Beijing concluded with ASEAN in 2002.
The DOC was a non-binding set of pledges regarding safety of navigation and the peaceful use of the waters. “We hope relevant parties would take into concern the overall situation of regional peace and stability, and do something more conducive to mutual trust and cooperation,” Wen said.
More significantly, Beijing has speeded up talks with claimants, including Vietnam and Brunei, on the possibilities of joint development of disputed islets in the Paracel and Spratly islands. This was in accordance with the CCP leadership’s insistence that resolution of territorial rows be handled on a one-on-one and “not multilateral” basis.
Most ASEAN members prefer to talk to China as a bloc. Manila has suggested an international negotiation framework that involves “outside” powers, such as the U.S.
Indicative of Beijing’s softening stance were the views made by scholars with good connections to the government. In an article in the official media earlier this month, Yu Zhirong, a researcher at the China Oceanic Development Research Institute, asked a highly relevant question regarding the country’s run-in with a host of nations over the South China Sea.
“China’s strength has increased and it should be striking fear [in the hearts of its neighbors],” he wrote. “How come it faces enemies at the front and back over efforts to protect its maritime territorial rights?”
According to Tang Shiping, an international relations professor at Shanghai’s Fudan University, Beijing should put its priority on winning friends rather than projecting its power. If China wants to seize the right to speak in the international arena, “its first and core concern will be to do away with its egotism,” he said.
“We cannot care and talk about only things that matter to us,” he wrote. “We must pay attention to others’ ” issues and talk about them in public.”
There are indications, however, that while gunning to win the hearts and minds of the majority of ASEAN”s 10 members, hardline elements in the Chinese establishment prefer the tactic of “killing the chicken to scare the monkey” so as to penalize “troublemakers” such as the Philippines.
The strategy was laid out in an editorial of the official Global Times, titled “Cold-shoulder the Philippines: let it pay the price.”
“In the process of ‘penalizing’ the Philippines, China must not go overboard, lest the region’s fear of China increases,” said the party mouthpiece. Yet China’s punishment of the Philippines must be “forceful,” the editorial added, “so that the Philippines has to pay a substantial price.” The mass-circulation paper suggested that the best way is to “cold-shoulder the Philippines even as China’s cooperation with the entire Southeast Asia becomes more entrenched.”
It was socialist playwright George Bernard Shaw who once wrote that “if you Rob Peter to pay Paul, you can always depend on the support of Paul.” Put in terms of the mob hysteria of the Occupy Movement, if you rob the 1 percent to pay the 99 percent you can always depend on the support of the 99 percent. That’s what Obama iand other radical leftist are counting on.
Twenty-four hours before the Arab League Sunday, Nov. 27, clamped down sanctions on the Assad regime, the first ever against a member state, the armies of Syria’s seven neighbors were already scrambling into position on standby on its borders for acts of retaliation. Military suspense mounted after the Arab League vote to cut off transactions with Syria’s central bank, withdraw Arab funding from projects and other painful sanctions over Bashar Assad’s refusal to halt his crackdown on protest.
Military sources report Israeli armored brigades pushed forward up to the Lebanese and Syrian borders; Ankara placed three armored brigades, its air force and navy in astate of preparedness, likewise Hizballah and the Lebanese and Jordanian armed forces, while the US and Russia are in the midst of a naval buildup opposite Syrian shores.
Military sources in the Gulf report that 150 Iranian Revolutionary Guards specialists had landed at a military airport south of Damascus on their way to Lebanon to join Hizballah which began bringing its rockets out of their hideouts.
Ahead of the Arab League vote, Qatar and Turkey were reported to be airlifting “volunteers” from Libya to fight alongside the rebel Free Syrian Army, some also transporting weapons, whereas Russia has begun another airlift to deliver top-notch missiles for Assad’s forces.
Sources report the two key items are advanced Pantsir-1 (SA-22 Greyhound) anti-air missiles for breaking a no-fly zone against most types of aircraft should one be imposed and supersonic Yakhont (SS-26) missiles for targeting vessels blockading Syria’s shores at a distance of 300 kilometers.
Israeli and Jordanian armed forces declared a state of preparedness Friday, Nov. 25, after the Syrian General Command accused an “armed terrorist” group of an ambush killing 10 airmen including 6 elite pilots on the Homs-Palmyra road Thursday, “with the involvement of foreign parties, the foremost of which is Israel.”
Military and intelligence sources report the ambush was another of the major operations against Assad regime’s most sensitive targets executed by the Free Syrian Army this week.
It took place at a point on the highway east of Palmyra on the fringe of the Syrian Desert and close to the Syrian Air Force base at Tiyas.
The official statement aired on Syrian state TV said the attack claimed the lives of six elite pilots, one technical officer and three technical sub-officers of the airbase.
Our sources add that the rebel army must have penetrated the highest levels of Syria’s military intelligence command for the attack and was clearly receiving targeting data from inside the armed forces.
The attack took place two days after the Free Syrian Army using rocket grenade launchers and heavy machine guns smashed into the Air Force Intelligence base of Harasta near Damascus, killing at least 10 Syrian troops. The ruling Baath party headquarters in Damascus was also attacked on Thursday.
The official statement broadcast Friday described the pilots as “qualitatively trained in piloting modern military aircraft” and “prepared to carry out “the sacred duty of liberating the land and restoring the usurped rights.”
It went on to say: “The General Command… considers that the beneficiaries of this terrorist act are the enemies of the homeland and the nation, foremost being Israel.”
The Syrian military vowed “to cut every evil hand that targets Syrian blood, and decisively confront all who threaten the homeland’s security and stability.”
The 24-hour lapse between the attack and the official statement indicated the level of dismay and confusion in Damascus over the sudden assault on the most stalwart buttress of the Assad dynasty in the nine-month crisis and a body blow to his regime.
Bashar Assad cannot afford to avoid retaliating. If he does, it will be an admission that the backbone of his armed forces is falling apart and out of control.
Since there is no knowing what form his revenge will take, Israel, Jordan and most likely Turkey too were braced Friday for trouble.
Assad no doubt took into account that bombing Free Syrian Army training bases across the border in Turkey would bring forth a Turkish military strike. So for now, he decided to point the finger at Israel, a reliable standby when the regime has its back to the wall. Jordan, through which large arms supplies reach the Syrian opposition, may seem to Damascus to be easy prey for the bombardment or raid of bases hosting Syrian rebels.
In the heat of the crisis, the Syrian ruler allowed the deadline set by the Arab League of his acceptance of hundreds of monitors go by Friday without an answer. “It is a last chance, a new chance for Syria,” Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters in Istanbul at a joint news conference with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh. By missing the deadline, Damascus faces possible economic sanctions spearheaded by the Arab League, which earlier this month suspended Syrian membership, amid growing international isolation.

In the past year, a number of people have been coming forward with information ties between Girl Scouts United States of America with Planned Parenthood even though the organization’s leadership denies the association. But the evidence says otherwise.
Sharon Slater, president of Family Watch International wanted to know more about the association with Planned Parenthood and exactly what the sex education program the Girl Scouts were teaching contained.
In March 2010, the United Nations held a conference on women’s rights. One of the workshops at the conference was sponsored by the Girl Scouts and Slater tried to attend by sitting in the back, but was told it was for girls only and was escorted out of the room. When the workshop ended and the doors opened, she managed to slip in and pick up one of the handouts that were given to the attendees.
Slater was shocked when she saw the content of the twenty page brochure which was titled, Happy, Healthy and Hot. Besides containing contact information for the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the brochure also contained what Slater described as sexually explicit information which included statements telling girls that any form of sexual activity they desire to engage in is permissible and that if a girl knows she has HIV, that it is up to her discretion on whether or not she wants to tell a potential sexual partner of her illness or not.
After Slater wrote about this on the Family Watch International webpage, Girl Scouts USA issued a statement denying any association with Planned Parenthood or with the Happy, Healthy and Hot brochure. Since then, Slater and several other concerned parents have conducted further investigation into the Girl Scouts’ association with Planned Parenthood and have placed information and documentation to back up their claims on their website.
Earlier this year, sisters Sydney and Tess Volanski quit the Girl Scouts because of the things they were being taught. The girls had been involved with scouts for nearly eight years. They launched a website called SpeakNowGirlScouts.com on which they wrote,
“We parted ways with the organization when we discovered that they have a pro-abortion mindset.
“We refuse to remain silent while this organization’s unscrupulous principles mislead over 2 million girls in the United States alone.
“We created SpeakNowGirlScouts.com in order to spread the truth to others who have no idea what GSUSA’s true intentions are.”
Like Sharon Slater, the girls came under attack by Girl Scout supporters, but they firmly adhere to their statements as being factual. Since launching their website, reports have claimed that many girls have since left the Girl Scouts for the same reasons.
(GSUSA has 2.3 million youth and 880 000 adults members). It has about 600 000 fewer members than the BSA. GSUSA and BSA are not affiliated In fact the GSUSA changed it name from Girl Scouts of America to show the separation.
Global temperatures could be less sensitive to changing atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) levels than previously thought, a study suggests.
The researchers said people should still expect to see “drastic changes” in climate worldwide, but that the risk was a little less imminent.
Previous climate models have tended to use meteorological measurements from the past 150 years to estimate the climate’s sensitivity to rising CO2.
The founder and spokesperson, Mohammad Malik of Occupy Miami is also the director of the south Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations?
Malik is also well known for his involvement in several other radical Islamic organizations. He is also a very outspoken hater of Israel. At one anti-Israeli protest, Malik was seen wearing Hamas clothing and leading the protesters chanting “Nuke Israel” and “Go back to the oven!” Malik was referring to the Jewish Holocaust when Nazi Germany sent over six million Jews to their deaths in the gas chambers and ovens.
In 2010, Malik held a Council on American-Islamic Relations dinner where the keynote speaker was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Siraj Wahhaj has repeatedly called for the Islamic overthrow of the United States by whatever means possible and he has openly defended the convicted bombers in the World Trade Center attack.
It should also be no surprise to know that Malik is an ardent supporter of a free Palestinian state. Malik has been quoted numerous times in the local Miami media and he has done nothing to hide it or his hatred for Jews and Israel. He even blames Israel for most of the terrorism in the world, which I find rather curious since the vast majority of terrorist attacks have been launched by radical Muslims against non-Jewish targets.
And if you think that Malik and his involvement in Occupy Miami is an isolated case, think again. Occupy New York has held several anti-Israel protests as well. One of those that have been involved with leading some of the anti-Israeli protests is Fenton Communications, headed by David Fenton.
Fenton also works closely with the George Soros funded Tides Center. Both Fenton and Tides have been supporters of Hamas, a Palestinian free state and the ending of the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Fenton Communications does business with a number of Islamic firms and organizations including one foundation run by Qatar’s ruler’s wife Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned.
Among Fenton’s staff is senior vice-president Doug Gordon, who spent time working on Capitol Hill and with the Democratic Party, as well as the top aide to Democratic Representative Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.
What once started out as a simple protest by mostly ill-educated socialists has now been turned into a platform for radical Muslims and their destroy America and Israel agenda. It’s no longer about the one percenters as much as it is about the American dissenters.

A new report from a New Orleans-based group reveals that the Obama administration is approving just 35 percent of the oil drilling plans for the Gulf of Mexico so far this year. It is also taking an average of 115 days - nearly four months - to secure approval from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.
Those numbers contrast sharply from previous years. This historical average is a 73.4% approval rate. The approval time has nearly doubled; the historical average is 61 days for the government to approve plans.
For plans that require drilling activity, the numbers are even worse. New regulations require all deepwater drilling plans to undergo an environmental assessment that can cost tens of thousands and take years.
In Nebraska: If a child burps during church, his parent may be arrested.
The coming political year, with presidential, House and Senate elections, will be one of the most interesting (and important) ones we have seen in a long while. The main challenge President Obama faces is persuading voters to re-elect him in spite of the disastrous results of his economic policies.
The declining economy has hit people on both ends of the economic spectrum, with the number of taxpayers with more than $1 million of income declining from from 400,000 back in 2007 to just 235,000 in 2009, and the number of people 16 years and older who have been unemployed over a year going from an average of 1.3 million in the last three recessions to 4.3 million in 2010. The Obama economy is the worst America has seen in four decades, with payroll employment today 5% lower than it was 41 months ago despite his near billion dollar stimulus. Over the past three years, federal spending as a percentage of gross domestic product has been higher than at any time since World War II, adding $4 trillion to our national debt.

Former President Bill Clinton tells Newsmax that his new book on fixing the American economy provides a blueprint the nation must take to use the best ideas of both Republicans and Democrats to create a public-private partnership to rescue the nation’s economy.
Clinton begins his best-seller, “Back to Work: Why We Need Smart Government for a Strong Economy:” “I wrote this book because I love my country and I’m concerned about our future.”
In his interview with Newsmax conducted last week, the former president noted that the supercommittee’s failure to reach an agreement on cutting the budget by $1.2 trillion over 10 years resulted in a “standoff between the two parties when we actually need the best ideas from both.”
“Part of the problem is that, for the last 30 years, we’ve argued about whether the government was the cause of all of our problems, and whether the answer was always less,” Clinton said. “Now I believe the answer is, ‘Sometimes it’s good to have less [government], sometimes it’s good to have more, and however much you have, you ought to pay for it.’ ”
In “Back to Work,” Clinton says the recent downturn was due to a lack of regulatory oversight that allowed mortgages to be easily obtained. Ironic since it was he who pushed for deregulating mortages tat resulted in many unqualified hgome loands inflating hgome prices and starting defaults and foreclosures. The nation became overleveraged and the economy won’t make a comeback until the housing crisis is unraveled, he argues.
Today, Clinton is preaching a bipartisan approach to solving the nation’s worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.
In his book, he writes, “I tried to give some examples of things that had been done by the government - by Republican presidents as well as Democratic ones - that I thought were very good, and things that should be done going forward, that some were more liberal and some quite conservative, that together would give us the kind of partnership between the public and private sector that would produce an economy of share prosperity.
“I think we ought to start with what our goal is: Our country works best when we have a thriving middle class, a good small-business sector, when people can work their way from poverty into the middle class so they’re not dependent on welfare for life.
“And when you look around the world, the people who are doing the best job of that have highly intelligent government policies that work in close concert with the private sector. That’s what I’m arguing for here,” Clinton said.
During the 1990s, Clinton presided over one of the strongest economic booms in the country’s history, which included a record of balanced budgets. He reduced the federal payroll while controlling the growth of spending and at the same time he promoted free trade policies and slashed capital gains taxes. A further irony is that President Reagan’s peaceful dissembly of the former Soviet Union, and Newt GHingric’s contrat withg America lead to the “peace dividend” and those balanced budgets
Asked if he had any advice for President Barack Obama, Clinton told Newsmax: “I think he should do more to highlight this small-business deregulation initiative he announced that he thinks will save them $10 billion in compliance costs. I think we should look at both conservative and progressive ways to deal with the climate-change issue.”
That issue needs a market-based solution, Clinton said, because “We’re never going to deal with this until we find a way to make it good economics. So there is a role here for Republicans and Democrats and independents, for conservatives and progressives, to play. But we somehow have to be able to get in the same room together.
“And you see the same thing on the budget, where the defining issue for many of the Republicans has been revenues, that the only way taxes can go is down. And the defining issue for many Democrats has been: You can do whatever you want as long as you don’t touch Social Security and Medicare. And that’s where all the money is.
“If you look at the federal budget, it’s Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, defense, interest on the debt - that’s 85 percent of the budget. And I’m very worried that both parties, in defending their turf on taxes and entitlements, will wind up punishing the future. That’s the non-defense discretionary investments the government makes in science and technology, in preserving our lead in biotechnology, in education and training when we need to upgrade that, and making college more affordable and making the debt easier to repay.
“It’s also our quality-of-life budget: clean air, clean water, safe food, safe air, transit. That stuff only takes 15 percent of the budget and it’s easier to cut because the future has a weaker constituency than the present does.”
Also during the exclusive Newsmax interview, Clinton addressed other ways to jump starting the economy, as well as his wife’s plans after 2012, the Republican presidential race and other matters:
- Clinton said his position arguing against tax increases now does not contradict President Obama’s plan to raise the tax rate for wealthier Americans, as long as Obama waits until after the economy shows signs of a stronger recovery.
- Clinton said some conservatives are too focused on the shortcomings of government. The world’s most successful countries have smart government policies that “work in close concert with the private sector,” he said.
- He blamed a lack of government oversight for the financial meltdown in 2008, and supported former President George W. Bush’s TARP program to rescue the banks. “And I know that President Bush is a conservative and I know that he hated it, he told me several times,” Clinton said. “But there was no alternative, we had to save the financial system.”
- He confirmed that he has spoken to wife and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about her plans after she leaves office, predicting “she will have a major role to play in the nongovernmental world. That’s what she plans to do, and I think she’ll do it well.”
- Regarding the recent surge of his one-time nemesis former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Clinton attributed Gingrich’s rebound to his intellect, as reflected in his strong debate performance. “He’s articulate and he tries to think of a conservative version of an idea that will solve a legitimate problem,” Clinton said.

A dozen New Jersey nurses filed a federal lawsuit protesting orders that they must care for abortion patients before and after the procedure. The suit against the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey contends that the rule violates their religious and moral convictions and federal law, The Washington Post reported.
The hospital’s policy reversed one that exempted employees who refuse based on religious or moral objections. In a statement, the hospital said that “no nurse is compelled to have direct involvement in, and/or attendance in the room at the time of, a procedure to which she or he objects based on his/her cultural values, ethics and/or religious beliefs,” the Post reported.
“The university is in full compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and is confident its position will be vindicated when the court gives this matter a full hearing.”
One of the nurses in the suit, Beryl Otieno-Negoje, told the Post, “I’m a nurse, so I can help people, not help kill, and it just doesn’t seem right to me. No health professional should be forced to choose between assisting abortion or being penalized at work.”
States, including New Jersey, have laws protecting healthcare workers who object to abortion and federal laws require that any medical facility that receives federal money allow workers to opt out.
Federal Judge Jose Linares has issued a temporary restraining order barring the hospital from requiring the nurses to undergo training to care for abortion patients, the Post reported.

A group of military officers from NATO and Arab nations has quietly established a mixed operational command at Iskenderun in the Turkish Hatay province on the border of North Syria, Military sources report.
Hailing from the United States, France, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with Turkish officers providing liaison, they do not represent NATO but are designated “monitors” tasked with establishing “humanitarian corridors.” Monday, Nov. 28, a UN panel reported on the Assad regime’s “gross violations.”
Laying the groundwork for the legitimacy of the combined NATO-Arab intervention in Syria, the UN Independent International Commission set up to assess the situation in Syria published a horrendous report Monday, Nov. 28 on the Assad regime’s brutalities. It documented “gross violations of human rights” and “patterns of summary execution, arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance, torture including sexual violence, as well as violations of children’s rights.”
Syrian foreign minister Walid al-Moallem fought back by showing a press conference Monday photos of dismembered bodies of Syrian soldiers as proof of the atrocities he claimed were perpetrated by the anti-Assad opposition. He also complained that “the Arab League and others refuse to believe that there is a foreign conspiracy targeting Syria.”
Military sources report exclusively that the Western-Arab intervention in the Syrian crisis is in an advanced state of operational planning. It entails a buffer zone in northern Syria encompassing beleaguered towns, primarily Idlib, Rastan and Homs - but also Aleppo, Syria’s largest city (2.5 million mostly Sunni and Kurdish inhabitants).
The protest movement never caught on in Aleppo, home to the moneyed classes who run the country’s financial and trading sectors, and it was confined to the highway network feeding the city. Therefore, for the Assad regime, bringing Aleppo into the “humanitarian corridor” system under foreign military control will round of the damage caused by the economic sanctions approved this week by the Arab League. Losing Aleppo will fatally hammer the economy into the ground and rob the Syrian ruler of funding for sustaining his military crackdown to wipe out the unrest in the areas remaining under his control.
Aware of this threat, Foreign Minister al-Moallem accused the Arab League of declaring economic war on it. Iran appears to be odd man out in this case.

Israel’s military has determined that a blast at an
Iranian base could have significantly damaged the nation’s missile
production capability.
Officials said an explosion on Nov. 12 that rocked an Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps base outside Teheran harmed the nation’s ballistic
intermediate-range missile program. They said the IRGC base, located about
40 kilometers from Teheran, was the leading developer and producer of
Shihab-3 missiles and its variants.

“The blast in the site, where surface-to-surface missiles were
developed, can delay or bring to a complete halt the production of the missiles at that site,” Israeli Brig. Gen. Itai Baron, head of Military Intelligence’s research division, said.
The release of Baron’s testimony was unusual for the Knesset committee. Usually, the committee releases few if any details from intelligence briefings.
In a Nov. 28 briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense
Committee, Baron said the IRGC base was deemed a major missile facility. He cited the death of Iran’s missile defense program chief, Gen. Hassan Moghaddam, believed to have helped design a nuclear warhead.
“It must be emphasized, however, that Iran has other development sites other than the one that was destroyed,” Baron said.
Officials said the IRGC base at Bid Kaneh could have been instrumental
in assisting Iran’s nuclear warhead program. They said Iran would continue
with the program as well as uranium enrichment regardless of United Nations
sanctions.
“The nuclear program will continue to progress despite the mounting
pressures in Iran, and the worsening economic situation that might undermine
the stability of the regime,” Baron said.
The Institute for Science and International Security appeared to confirm
the Israeli assessment. On Nov. 28, ISIS presented satellite images (pictured above) of the
IRGC compound at Bid Kaneh that showed extensive damage to most of the
buildings.
“ISIS learned that the blast occurred as Iran had achieved a major
milestone in the development of a new missile,” ISIS said. “Iran was
apparently performing a volatile procedure involving a missile engine at the
site when the blast occurred.”

The Arab world, shaken by major revolts in several countries, has experienced a sharp economic decline.
Leading Middle East bankers have warned that Arab League states were plunged into what they termed a “state of emergency.” They said the pro-democracy revolts in such countries as Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Tunisia have eroded budgets and credit ratings.
“It is necessary to announce a state of emergency for Arab economies in
order to reduce the impact [of the revolts] on affected countries, and to
lessen the impact of the world economic crisis on other Arab states,” Arab
Union of Banks chairman Adnan Yusef said.
In an address to the Arab Banking Summit in Beirut on Nov. 24, Yusef
urged the establishment of an aid fund to help Arab states recover from the
civil unrest, which included general strikes. He pointed to a sharp drop in
foreign investment - from $20 billion in 2010 to $4.8 billion this year.
“The economic cost of the ongoing uprisings and the collapse of Arab
regimes are immensely high,” World Union of Arab Bankers chairman Joseph
Torbey said. “If political revolutions in our Arab world are not followed by
institutional reforms, economic and human growth, the efforts of the people
will be in vain and will gave way to feelings of resentment, more poverty,
underdevelopment and extremism.”
The International Monetary Fund also warned of a shrinking Arab economy.
IMF reported that Egypt and Tunisia were expected to reach economic growth
of 1.2 percent and zero in 2011 while Yemen would see its gross domestic
product, or GDP, decline by 2.4 percent.
Torbey called for a so-called Marshall Plan for the Arab world, a
reference to the U.S.-sponsored effort to revitalize Europe after World War
II. He said aid from rich Arab states, an apparent reference to Saudi
Arabia, must be immediate to prevent further deterioration.
“If the crises in the region are prolonged,” Torbey said. “The so-called
Arab Spring might well turn into a harsh economic winter.”
When the allies reached the Rhine River , on Germany’s border. as if by a mystical command troops urinated in it- including General Patton who insisted on being photographed doing so. Google the photo it is on the internet, Winston Churchill repeated the exercise when he finally crossed the border river in the 3rd Reich - I can’t find that photo.
One of the UC Davis faculty members involved in leading the OWS protests is scheduled to teach a course on Marxism and is now calling for the campus police to be completely evicted from the university.
A syllabus for Professor Nathan Brown’s course begins with a Karl Marx quote about communism being “the real movement which abolishes the present state of things.” The on-line course description is decorated with a hammer and sickle, the symbol of communism.
Marcus Shibler, chairman of Davis College Republicans, had initiated a letter-writing campaign to the chancellor, Linda Katehi, calling on her to dismantle the tents and remove the protesters.
This led to the pepper-spray incident that has been the subject of “police brutality” allegations picked up by the national media. “We supported that and supported her,” he said. “Then, she cowered and took the politically correct route and ended up separating herself” from the decision and apologizing to the protesters. She also ordered the campus police chief and two officers put on leave.
A spokesman for a growing number of students who want an educational atmosphere returned to campus, Shibler tells Accuracy in Media that Katehi, is caving in to protesters’ demands, even ordering meals and portable toilets for those returning to campus. “She has done nothing but appease them now,” he said.
Shibler said the public is generally unaware of how much disruption the protesters were causing on campus. “The day that they set up camp,” he said, “they had hundreds of people marching through classes, mine included. They marched through classes with hundreds of people banging on walls, kicking walls, slamming doors, and screaming ‘We are the 99 percent.’ There’s a huge difference between free speech and what they were doing.”
After the First World War ended it was found that the Armistice was typed back to front. The French clerk who was taking the dictation put the carbon papers in the wrong way round. Of course the British and Americans who had saved the French’s bacon could not resist throwing excrement in French faces for what they saw as a perfect example of incompetence at levels.
