Romney reeleased a full scale jobs plan he says will creat over ten million jobs It focuses on cutting taxes and taking on China something Obama is loath to do, and will not do even if it meant millions of U. S. jobs. Obama is completely cowed by China in business as well as in military areas. Pundits say Obama has already lost America to China.
Remember the raid on Gibson Guitars accused of illegally importing Indian Rosewood. While it admits it did but so has many other U. S. guitar manufacturers. The difference appears to be that Gibson is a Republican contributor and his shops are non-union. So far the feds cannot , or will not explain why Gibson was raided and a million dollars of wood seized and why others were not.
Ironically had the wood been shaped into guitar parts in India it would be legal to import but that would cost American jobs.

After just a month on the job as Home Front Commander, Maj. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg warned Monday, Sept. 5 of the increasingly peril of a total Middle East war in the wake of the Arab revolts and Israel’s rift with Turkey.
Stressing the long term, Eisenberg warned that the Arab Spring would likely evolve into “a radical Islamic winter” raising the potential for “total war in the Middle East” and the possible use of weapons of mass destruction.
His comments shocked Israel’s policy-makers and defense establishment out of their placidity into issuing a vehement denial of his predictions.
Eisenberg also revealed that Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip had recently acquired a new weapon. The million Israelis battered by 150 missiles in recent weeks had accordingly been advised to take shelter under two roofs - not just one.
military sources recall that before Gen. Eisenberg made his dire prediction, chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz recently lectured to the IDF’s General Command on the danger of the Arab Spring fast degenerating into “an Arab autumn or winter.”
“There is no need to sow panic,” said the defense minister’s political adviser Amos Gilead in an early morning interview Tuesday, Sept. 6 in which he sharply contradicted the Home Front commander point by point with “the real facts.”
“Israel’s security situation has never been better,” said Gilead. “We have deterrence in the north and the south, the Arab regimes around us are stable” and “all we need do is take care that current situations don’t develop into threats.” Israel has broad leeway for action, he insisted, and plenty of time to prepare for the unexpected. “It is therefore not correct to say that we face total war.”
Asked about the potential use of unconventional weapons in war against Israel, the defense minister’s adviser was a lot less certain. While anxious to refute the Home Front Commander, the defense minister’s adviser still took care to hedge his bets.
”We must behave as though it is a weather forecast,” said Gilead. “We know weather forecasters can’t always be accurate and we are often surprised by unexpected rain and stormy weather. The same applies to national security forecasts.”
Military analysts point out that while Gen. Eisenberg’s outlook is substantially credible for the long term, the events rushing forward in Libya, Syria and Egypt and the uncertainty in Jordan are rapidly shrinking the foreseeable time scale to weeks and making his words a wakeup call, whereas Gilead’s words aim at obfuscating six pertinent facts:
1. The “stable regimes” he referred to are a myth: In Egypt the military rulers are not in control. The latest US intelligence assessments, as the defense ministry’s adviser is no doubt aware, register dismay over the discovery that the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi extremist groups are assured of a two-thirds majority in elections for the presidency and parliament, for which the movement for toppling Hosni Mubarak fought so hard. The military rulers’ only hope of staying in power is to stage a second Egyptian revolution to suppress the drive for democracy. For now, they are playing ball with the Islamic extremists, a fact which Mr. Gilead has not revealed.
2. This pattern applies equally to Israel’s security backyard in Sinai, where intelligence and counter-terror sources report that the military rulers in Cairo have abandoned any attempt to root out terrorists despite their increasing use of this territory as a jumping-off base.
Not a single smuggling tunnel carrying arms to Hamas in the Gaza Strip has been destroyed, contrary to reports appearing in the Israeli media.
For three weeks, Israel has maintained troops on high alert on its southern border with Egyptian Sinai and kept main highways closed to civilian traffic, since being forewarned of a large Palestinian Jihad Islami terrorist team from the Gaza Strip lying in wait to strike southern Israel from the Egyptian border. Egyptian security forces have not lifted a finger to interfere with their movements.
e supply of arms to the Gaza Strip has since the Egyptian revolution swelled to an unprecedented volume. It is bringing to Hamas and other terrorist groups quantities of surface missiles of greater range and power even than the Grads, which last month hit targets at a distance of 30 kilometers, such as Beersheba; F-7 anti-air and anti-tank missiles.
Nonetheless, Gilead referred to Israel’s situation as “never better” and lauded its deterrent capacity in the south.
3. He was just as smug about Israeli deterrence in “the north,” including the Lebanese border facing Hizballah.
4. In Syria, circumstances are so volatile that a war situation could ignite in hours.
5. In Jordan, the political and security ground under the throne is far from stable and while domestic unrest has scarcely broken surface, it could erupt at any time.
6. While Libya was never part of the Arab front line against Israel, its relevance to Israeli security is growing. Since NATO launched its operation to unseat Muammar Qaddafi in March, gunrunning from Libya is rife, channeling large quantities of Libyan arms by smuggling routes into the Gaza Strip and Sinai.
7. Iran is fast nearing nuclear weapon capability and missiles capable of delivering nuclear warheads.
One of the greatest threats comes from the new regime the US, Britain, France and NATO are preparing to anoint in Tripoli. Since Qaddafi’s departure, the Libyan capital has fallen under the control of pro-Al Qaeda rebel elements and extremist Salafis. Their Western sponsors have put their trust in these extremists changing their spots and embracing moderation and democracy. This illusion they are liable to replicate in Cairo and Damascus. Israel would then be beset at all hands by avowedly hostile Islamist regimes whose ideology obliges them to wage jihad against the Jewish state.
Eisenberg tried to open Israeli eyes to the real perils around the corner, while Gilead made haste to close them.
David Petraeus was sworn in Tuesday as head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to direct the civilian covert war against terrorist and lead the spy agency after years of command in Iraq and Afghanistan as America’s most influential general.
Petraeus, 58, who succeeds Leon Panetta, now the defense secretary, hung up his army uniform less than a week ago after a 37-year military career to take on the new role as spymaster.
Sunday will mark the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. And although the official version of what happened that day has more holes than a Revolutionary soldier’s sock in Valley Forge, it is now accepted as fact what our leaders tell us automatically believed to be true.
Conventional wisdom has it that 19 hijackers of Middle Eastern origin - primarily Saudi Arabians - outwitted the vast United States intelligence network and the worldwide intelligence network for months while preparing to carry out the largest attack ever on American soil. The attack was planned from Afghanistan by a bunch of cave-dwellers and financed by the son of a Saudi billionaire who had an ax to grind with America for occupying Muslim holy ground.
The 19 hijackers conducted extensive training, including learning to fly - but not land - airplanes so they could pull off the attacks. The hijackers split into four teams and, armed only with box cutters, each overpowered the crew and a planeload of passengers and hijacked a plane. There weren’t 20 hijackers and four equal teams because one of the hijackers, Zacarias Moussaoui, was in jail in Minnesota on an immigration violation.
During the ordeal, passengers used cell phones and airplane seat-back phones to call loved ones to tell them of their plight.
After two of the planes struck the towers of the World Trade Center and erupted into huge fireballs, the passport of one of the accused hijackers was found, intact, lying on the sidewalk, virtually unsinged and undamaged but soaked in jet fuel. This “lead” put the FBI on the trail of the hijackers and their co-conspirators right away.
The fires resulting from the crash, fed by jet fuel, brought down the two towers within hours and even brought down an adjacent building that was undamaged by the planes and had sustained only minimal fire damage.
In a field over Shanksville, Pa., a group of passengers decided to overpower their hijackers and regain control of the plane. One of the passengers, Todd Beamer, uttered the now famous words, “Are you guys ready? Let’s roll,” according to a customer service representative Beamer had reached while using a credit card phone in the back of an airplane seat.
As the passengers wrestled with hijackers for control, the aircraft plunged into the ground in a field and disintegrated into millions of pieces, most of which were small enough to fit into a carry-on bag. The largest piece found at the site was a section of fuselage about the size of a car hood. A section of the engine was found more than a mile away, and debris from the crash was found as far as eight miles away, blown there by the prevailing 10-mph winds after being tossed into the air by the crash.
The fourth airliner crashed into the Pentagon’s wall, leaving an impact hole about 20 feet wide and only slightly higher. Again, only small fragments of the plane remained after the crash and ensuing fire.
Although the South Tower of the WTC was the second to be struck at 9:02 a.m., it fell first, pancaking down in its own footprint approximately 57 minutes after the plane flew into it between the 78th and 84th floors. About 29 minutes later the North Tower of the WTC collapsed. It came down at 10:28 a.m., one hour and 42 minutes after it was struck between the 94th and 98th floors. It also fell straight down into its own footprint.
The attacks killed 2,996 people: airline passengers, building occupants, rescue workers and the hijackers.
By 3:30 p.m. CIA Director George Tenet had fingered Osama bin Laden as the culprit (thanks to the miraculous find of the terrorist passport), telling President George W. Bush and his National Security team that a check of the passenger manifests had turned up the names of three known al-Qaida operatives.
At 5:20 p.m. WTC Building 7 collapsed. It had suffered only minimal fire damage, but the official word is that fire caused the building to come down.
Three days later, Bush was standing atop a pile of rubble at ground zero making a speech through a bullhorn. A rescue worker yelled out that he couldn’t hear Bush. Bush spontaneously replied, “I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people-and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!”
On Oct. 7, less than a month after four hijacked airliners crashed into the WTC, the Pentagon and a field, the “War on Terror” began in Afghanistan with the purported goal of dismantling the al-Qaida terror network and finding and killing bin Laden.
On Oct. 26, 2001, Bush signed into law the Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorist Act of 2001; aka the USA PATRIOT Act. The Act passed the house by 357-66 and the Senate 98-1.
On Nov. 27, 2002, a commission called the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (9/11 Commission) was formed to “prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 attacks.” It was also charged with looking into preparedness and response to the attacks.
The commission issued its final report and closed on Aug. 21, 2004. In a nutshell, it blamed failures on the part of the CIA and the FBI and said had the agencies acted more wisely and more aggressively, the attacks could have been prevented.
Case closed for the media and the vast majority of the American public.
But there are questions, many questions. And fewer and fewer are they who are asking.
In the months leading up to 9/11, the United States’ vaunted intelligence agencies lost track of 19 foreigners, most of whom had overstayed their visas, and could not catch up to them even though some of them were living with FBI informants and others were enrolling in flight schools where they sought to learn to fly - but not land - airplanes. They were living the high life and not showing any evidence of trying to hide. In July 2001, according to an article in Germany’s daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies received warning signals through the Echelon spy network (a a shadowy, US-led worldwide electronic spying network) that Middle Eastern terrorists were planning to hijack commercial aircraft to use as weapons against important symbols of American and Israeli culture. Yet we are told the attacks came as a complete surprise. How could this happen?
Recent papers released by WikiLeaks indicate that in the weeks before 9/11, American intelligence services were on the trail of another group of five men with terrorist ties who were staying in California. They slipped away in the days after 9/11. Were they a fifth team of hijackers who did not complete their mission for some reason? How were they able to escape the massive U.S. dragnet?
Two days before the 9/11 attacks, the “Lion of Panjshir,” Ahmad Shah Massoud Khayin, who was the leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, was assassinated by two suicide bombers posing as journalists. In the early morning hours of Sept. 11, a van occupied by Middle Eastern men pulled up to The Colony Beach and Tennis Resort in Florida, where Bush was staying. They said they were there to interview the President, but didn’t have an appointment. They were turned away. Are these two incidents related?
Two hours before the planes slammed into the Twin Towers, two employees of the Israeli instant messaging service Odigo received messages warning of the coming attacks, according to the Israeli publication Haaretz. Who sent the messages and why? Who else was warned ahead of the attacks?
At 8:44 a.m., during a working breakfast on missile defense with Congressional leaders, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld predicted a terrorist attack would come, saying, “Let me tell you. I’ve been around the block a few times. There will be another event.” Did he know about the attack in advance?
How did that passport of Satam al-Suqami survive the crash? The plane was exploded into a giant fireball upon impact with WTC 1. Yet the passport exited his pocket or luggage and fell unharmed to the ground near the tower, where it was spotted by a passerby and turned over to police despite the bedlam going on all around? How is it that his was the only identification found out of all the passengers on the plane?
At 8:50 a.m., four minutes after the first plane struck, Tenet was made aware of the crash and realized it was no accident. Yet there is no indication he made an effort to stop Bush from making a scheduled appearance at Booker Elementary School in Florida, despite the danger he may have been facing were a highly coordinated attack being carried out. Before entering the classroom, Bush paused to speak with then National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice. Later, Bush said he learned of the first crash before entering the classroom when he saw the plane crash into the building on television. There was no video of the first crash until much later in the day, and the school principal said there was no television in the area that Bush could have seen anyway. Why this discrepancy? Was Bush lying?
According to media reports, a number of the passengers on the hijacked airliners supposedly used cellphones to call loved ones and authorities. But cellphone technology in 2001 didn’t allow the use of phones above 10,000 feet. How were the calls possible?
Witnesses reported seeing a white jet that looked like a fighter plane trailing United Airlines Flight 93, and a sonic boom was reported in the area over Pennsylvania. Was there a second plane? If so, where did it come from?
Some witnesses also reported seeing Flight 93 on fire before it crashed into the field. Why were these witnesses hushed up and why weren’t they allowed to testify for the 9/11 Commission? What was the plane they saw and did it shoot down Flight 93 upon orders from Vice President Dick Cheney?
If the plane flew into the ground intact, how did a large portion of the engine fall more than a mile away from the crash site? How did lighter debris wind up as far as eight miles away?
In the days following the attacks, at least 60 Israeli citizens were arrested and held secretly - some of them with ties to Israeli military and intelligence. Fox News’ Carl Cameron was the first mainstream reporter to break the news. It was weeks later before other mainstream news outlets picked up on it. His four-part series that provided evidence that the Israelis had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks has been scrubbed from Fox News’ website. Who were these Israelis, what did they know and what became of them? Why did Fox News scrub the stories?
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is tasked with protecting American airspace. Yet even though the Federal Aviation Administration notified NORAD of the hijacking of American Airlines Flight 11 at 8:38 a.m. and other flights in the minutes that followed, it wasn’t until long after the last plane hit the ground that NORAD planes showed up. Where were they and why did NORAD sit on news of the hijacked planes for several minutes (which NORAD admits to but won’t explain) before scrambling any fighters?
When the 9/11 Commission tried to get answers to these questions, NORAD stonewalled and its representatives lied. What were they covering up and why? Why do they continue to stonewall to this day?
Firefighters and reporters arriving on the scene of the WTC fires claim to have heard numerous explosions before the buildings collapsed. What caused the explosions? Were they deliberately set to bring down the twin towers?
How did fires cause two skyscrapers to fall? It’s the first time fire ever brought down a skyscraper, and it happened to three buildings in one day. Why did they pancake down as if in a controlled demolition? If fire weakened the support beams, as the official stories suggest, why didn’t the towers fall to one side or the other rather than pancake down as if in a controlled event? Many engineers and architects at AE911truth.org say it could not have happened as we’re told. Why are they being ignored? Better yet, if these architects and engineers are lying about their theories, ask yourself what they stand to gain from lying and what is their motive? (Goodle it and read as you will).
Traces of an explosive called thermite were found in the rubble of the WTC and melted steel was found beneath the columns. What is the source of the thermite and what caused the steel to liquefy? Burning jet fuel does not reach a temperature high enough to liquefy steel.
What caused WTC Building 7 to fall?
The maneuver required to fly an airliner at the trajectory of the one that hit the Pentagon would be difficult for an experienced pilot, and some of the air traffic controllers watching the flight believed it to be a military aircraft at the time. How did a terrorist with limited - and by all accounts very poor - flying ability pull off such a maneuver without crashing into the ground prior to reaching the Pentagon?
Why was the hole in the Pentagon wall too small to accommodate an airliner - both in width and height? Why were no identifiable parts of a Boeing 757 found at the crash site? Why was an engine turbofan from an A3 Skywarrior found at the crash scene? If Flight 77 did not crash into the Pentagon, what happened to it and its passengers and crew?
In the weeks and months after the attack, men alleged to have been the hijackers and supposed to have died in the attacks began turning up alive. At least seven of them have been seen since 9/11 and one was found to have died prior to 9/11 in an airplane crash. What is the explanation for this?
Why did Bush begin talking to cabinet members about attacking Iraq while the Afghanistan attack was being formulated?
If we attacked Afghanistan with the intention of defeating al-Qaida and killing Osama bin Laden, why are we still there? Al-Qaida is no longer in Afghanistan and bin Laden is reportedly dead.
Why did the Pentagon participate in a cover-up and attempt to mislead the 9/11 Commission?
Why do members of the 9/11 Commission believe there are still many unanswered questions regarding the events of that day? Why did Commission members say they believed the Commission was set up to fail? Why have there been no charges of obstruction filed against those who stonewalled and lied to the Commission?
Did someone or someones in government or within some shadowy quasi-governmental agency participate in or facilitate the attacks? Was it a coup against the Bush regime? Could that explain Bush’s seeming confusion and his trips crisscrossing the Southern portion of the U.S. before going back to Washington, D.C.? What other lies are we being told?
Why aren’t you asking some of these same questions?
Labor Day ended the 45 years of now 85 year-old Jerry Lewis hosting what had been the Jerry Lewis Telethon raising money for Muscular Dystrophy. The MDA excused Lewis unceremoniously pushing him out as host and then as MDA spokesman after he’d raised $2.45 billion through 2010. It seems to have been OK. The 21.5 hour telethon was compacted into just 6 fast paced hours and raised $61 million despite a suffering economy. The telethon peaked in 2007 at $65 million and had skidded since by 17% to $59 million in 2010.
There’s been much ado about how mainstream media reporters have installed themselves in Barack Obama’s pocket over the course of his campaign for the presidency and occupancy of the Oval Office. As evidence Tuesday NBC said its pollster is “concerned” that America is losing confidence in Obama an unusual view for supposedly unbiased journalist let alone for a pollster.
Talk-radio icon Rush Limbaugh even bluntly pushed the metaphor further, stating recently, “Next time Obama has a colonoscopy, I wonder who they’ll find in there. Which NBC personality will show up first?”
A new poll suggests that main street America is not that impressed with mainstream reporters, with only one person in 10 between the Atlantic and Pacific stating that they trust the “national news media” a great deal.
The poll reveals that a higher percentage - 13.7 percent - trust national news media “not at all.” And a huge 34.3 percent say “not very much.” The biggest segment of the respondents, 41.8 percent, said they trust the media “somewhat,” a result that simply is condemnation by faint praise.
Democrats have far more confidence in the media, perhaps reflective of the mostly left-leaning positions posited by the once big media outlets,(ABC, CBS and NBC and appendages) with 20.1 percent trusting “a great deal” to the Republicans’ 3.6 percent. Also, 49.5 percent of Democrats trusted big media “somewhat” to 34.7 percent for Republicans. And 23.9 percent of Democrats trusted big media “not very much,” to 43.4 percent for Republicans. Independents rode the division between the two parties.
“When it comes to trusting the news media, there is a chasm between the opinions of progressives and liberals and conservatives,” said Fritz Wenzel, chief of Wenzel Strategies.
“Two out of three progressives trust the media either a great deal or somewhat, while just 27 percent of the ‘very conservative’ said the same thing. And while just 5 percent of the ‘very liberal’ said they don’t trust the news media at all, 39 percent of the very conservatives said the same thing.”
He said, “This is no doubt a reflection of the public’s distaste with how the national news media have covered the presidential campaign and administration of Barack Obama. That coverage has been incurious and fawning, and, this poll indicates, has served to harm journalism itself much more than it has helped the president.”
Wenzel continued, “Americans have seen through the journalistic smokescreen that the national media have created to shield Obama’s political failures from public view, as is shown in Obama’s anemic job approval numbers. When it comes to the president’s leadership on the economy, three out of four Americans give him a failing grade.”
The poll showed that Democrats were out of step with Republicans and even independents in choosing the source of their news. While the biggest part of Democrats, 44.6 percent, picked television as the news source they trust the most, another 33.7 percent said they trust newspapers the most.
For Republicans, 40.3 percent picked television and only 10.2 percent picked newspapers. For independents, 35.1 percent picked television and 18.5 percent picked newspapers.
Large portions of both of the latter groups, 37.2 percent for Republicans and 30.4 percent for independents, picked radio news and talk.
The up-and-coming reporting on the Internet was the first choice among nearly 12 percent of Americans, including 16.1 percent of independents.
“Television is trusted the most of all media outlets,” Wenzel said. “While 40 percent said they trust TV most, another 27 percent said they trust radio news and radio talk shows to provide them with the most reliable reporting. Just 21 percent said they turn to newspapers as the most trustworthy outlet for news.”
Interestingly, the survey also revealed that Fox News is both the most trusted - and untrusted - network by large margins.
The poll also showed local news outlets were trusted more by 46.2 percent of the respondents - with all political persuasions within percentage points of each other. The national news media members were picked by 39.1 percent. Nearly 15 percent, however, said they trust neither.
“For all the fun that is aimed at local news outlets in the entertainment world, it was the local outlets that won out over national news outlets when it comes to trustworthiness,” said Wenzel.
Fox News Channel’s no-spin host Bill O’Reilly wins a job approval rating of 52 percent, while 38 percent said they disapproved of the job O’Reilly does on his nightly news analysis and commentary program,” said Fritz Wenzel, chief of Wenzel Strategies. It was split along political party lines.
A new poll of Republican voters in the early primary state of South Carolina suggests the question of Barack Obama’s eligibility is no fringe issue, as 65 percent of those polled question whether the current occupant of the Oval Office was even born in the U.S.
The automated telephone survey of 750 usual South Carolina Republican primary voters was conducted by the Democratic polling company, Public Policy Polling, from Aug. 25-28.
According to PPP’s published results, when asked, “Do you think Barack Obama was born in the United States?” 44 percent answered “no” and an additional 21 percent answered “unsure” - a total of 65 percent questioning his birthplace - leaving only 35 percent who answered definitively “yes.”
Saturday mail delivery in Canada was eliminated by Canada Post on February 1, 1969!
The United States Postal Service has long lived on the financial edge, as a quasi government agency supposedly managing itself as if it were a private enterprise but it has never been as close to the financial precipice as it is today: the agency is so low on cash that it will not be able to make a $5.5 billion heakthcare premium due September 30 may have to shut down entirely this winter unless Congress takes emergency action to stabilize its finances. USPS already owes taxpayers $12 billion.
That didn’t stop the Postal Worker’s union from fielding a national ad campaign saying USPS uses no taxpayer dollars relying entirely on sale of stamps and postage and that is simply not factual.
“Our situation is extremely serious,” the postmaster general, Patrick R. Donahoe, said in an interview. “If Congress doesn’t act, we will default.”
In recent weeks, Mr. Donahoe has been pushing a series of painful cost-cutting measures to erase the agency’s deficit, which will reach $9.2 billion this fiscal year. They include eliminating Saturday mail delivery, closing up to 3,700 postal locations and laying off 120,000 workers of its 574,000 employees- nearly one-fifth of the agency’s work force - despite a no-layoffs clause in the unions’ contracts.
Decades of contractual promises made to unionized workers, including no-layoff clauses, are increasing the post office’s costs. Labor represents 80 percent of the agency’s expenses, compared with 53 percent at United Parcel Service and 32 percent at FedEx, its two biggest private competitors. Postal workers also receive more generous health benefits than most other federal employees.
Few will remember when USPS sued to stop UPS saying only it could deliver packages. They lost in the courts. Even as the post office is begging for a bailout it conmtinues to advertise including title sponsorship on Good Morning America’s weather segments.
A lightning bolt generates temperatures five times hotter than those found at the sun’s surface!
Chris Mathews said he got a “tingle” up his leg watching Barack Obama. Other interviewers routinely hand Obama softball questions to lob to his constituency and the results are not lost on the American public.
A new poll eveals that by a nearly 2-1 margin Americans believe that the national (main stream) news media favor the Democratic Party over the GOP. The bias is clear even to Democrats themselves, because one in five who self-identified with the party admit they are the media’s favorite. The margin is 3 to 1 when you add-in independents by a by a 43-16 percent margin get the best treatment from the main stream news media.
The results come from new scientific telephone survey of nearly l,100 respondents conducted Aug. 20-22 with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.93 percentage points. It was done by Wenzel Strategies.
In a despicable display of hate speak - Teamster President Jimmy Hoffa Jr. calls TEA Party members sons of bitches. Not even his dad who is likely a permanent part of the Meadowlands stadium buried there after his murder. VP Biden called for supporters to keep the barbarians from the gates. Obama won’t apologize for Teamsters Union President James Hoffa’s maligning tea party members as SOBs, says White House spokesman Jay Carney.
Topping it all off Obama is expected to propose $300 billion and likely much more in new spending Thursday
Michelle Bachman’s brief reign as the “princess of the Primaries” blew away with the soon chaff after she won the Iowa straw poll when Texas Governor Rick Perry entered the race. Perry unceremoniously and quickly snatched the Prince’s crown from former Massachussett’s Governor Romney mussing his hair and setting up a direct contest between a fundemntalist Christian and a devote Morman.
The GOP debate at the Reagan Library just down the road here provided the first opportunity to see Perry and Romney on the same stage for the first time which should have given Romney an advantage because he has debated more. Most Americans say they could vote for a Mormon for President about the same as for a “fundamentalist Christian” that describes both Bachman and Perry.
On the eve of the GOP debate a compilation of nationl polls has Obama at 45%; Perry 43%, and Romney 44% and Bachman 42% vs Obama’s 48%.
As a sign that Perry is seen as a threat to Obama Chris Matthews branded Govrnor Perry a Luddite (a social movement of 19th-century English textile artisans who protested modernization - often by destroying mechanized looms).
Al Sharpton attacked Perry in his usual peculiar way. Perry showed well during the debate exceeding expectation.
Bachman was depreciated to second tier. Perry lost because he didn’t perfrom up to high expectations.Bachman was pushed from the top tier. Gingrich tried twice to steer the debate back to Obama while everyone else tried to make their talking points deftly in almost every case.
Obama tried to shove his way in my releasing more details of tonight’s Keynsian “Job Act” speech featuring an infrastructure bank promising more boon doogle like traffic calming Santa Barbara’s bulb outs, and one timeprojects featuring thousands of $50,000 a copy highway campaign signs and short term jobs.
It reminds of FDR Secretary of the Treasury 1034-1945 a devotee of English economist John Maynard Keynes; Henry Morganthau Jr said in 1938 “”"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.” Keynsian economics preaches that government is best equipped to run the economy with top down planning. As Morganthau pointed out it failed in the Great Depression in U. S. as well in the UK in Europe and elsewhere and is largely dicredited except among leftists in Socialist regimes and onm American College campuses.
You can hear the details at 7PM EST time tonight and the next GOP debate will be next Monday.
