Muslims Feel Sting of Pain - What about the Jews

A weekend article in the vaunted Los Angeles Times (affectionately referred to as the Palestinian Times by some) is entitled “Muslims feel the Sting of Blame”. It discusses how most Muslims feel they are unfairly targeted when a terror attack occurs and the perpetrator has not yet been identified. Yes, I must admit that I assume the killer will be a member of an extremist Muslim group - especially when such a group claims credit for the attack, as occurred this past weekend in Sweden.
Fair enough. But I will always speak out against group-think, group-blame or any type of belief system that attaches any one person’s actions to an entire group as I think we all would.
But if you stop to think about it, what is most remarkable is that America once again proves it is one of the most tolerant countries on the face of the planet (even when that tolerance places us at great risk). A quick review of FBI data from 2009 reveals that out of all religious hate crimes, only 9.3% can be attributed to anti-Islamic activities. Now that seems to be quite low considering 9/11, Ft. Hood, Ft/Dix, the attempted Christmas Day bomber, Times Square Bomber, doesn’t it?
So why do all the articles we read talk about only the hate against Muslims? I have no answer but that which is pathetically transfixing our multicultural, self-loathing view of the world. And our media plays such a large role in that.
If the media were concerned with religious hate crimes, they certainly would not be publishing articles about Muslim hate crimes. Instead they’d be writing about the incessant hate crimes perpetrated against America’s most hated religious minority. The Catholics? The Mormons? The Atheists?
Nope, it’s a group that comprises only 2% of the population at best. It’s a group that has yet to set off any bombs in Times Square or blow up an airplane or even support groups on college campuses calling for the destruction of the United States.
Yep, it’s those pesky Jews. Checking official FBI statistics, it is apparent that hate crimes against Jews remain about 70% of all religious hate crimes in America. A full 8 times that of Muslims.
Yet the LA Times keeps perpetuating the myth that Muslim hate crimes are exploding and warrant attention far more than any other group.
As usual, the paper quotes members of organizations such as the Islamic Society of North America or the Muslim Student Association, both of which were founded by the Muslim Brotherhood. Last I checked the MB was considered a terror-sponsoring organization that exists to destroy Israel and the West. But that is not a problem for the Times.
Take a watch at this wonderfully informative and motivational clip. If we are going to continue worrying ourselves to death that we are being offensive to any particular group instead of of demanding from our government that it keep us safe, we are in for a rough ride ahead. We will all fee the sting from far more than some unkind words.
