The George Soros’ progressive Media Matters are tickled pink that Glen beck had his last show on FOX. The uber left bunch went so far as to have a ‘”BYE, BYE BECK” to celebrate what it claimed as a victory saying it killed Beck with intimidation and boycotts of his advertisers causing FOX to drive him out.

Beck says he is off to bigger and better things. MEDIA MATTERS says it will redict its effort elsewhere.at “right wing media nuts” which, according to one attendee, constitutes the entire Fox News network. Ironic, considering a recent UCLA study actually puts Fox News left of center.

An  AP analysis of California’s redistricting commission’s projects the GOP could loose 5 more Congressional seats in the 2012 Congressional elections. If thoses maps become set the whole hoopla will go immediately into the courts for a decision. Five term Congressman Elton Gallagly of Simi Valley is specifically mwntioned at the top of the vulnerable list.

The analysis was lopsided because it excludes impacts on Democrat seats like Gallagly’s adjacent district occupaied by Democrat Lois Capps. That 23rd Dstrict appears to be a tross=up and if it had existed two years ago who likely would have be defested bylocal businessman, retired Navay officer Tom Watson.

About 1500 stars are visible at night with the naked eye in a clear, dark sky. There are 88 constellations altogether. The smallest star measures only about 1700 km (1,000 miles)  across. It is a white dwarf called LP 327-16. Compared to the Suns 1,382,000 kilometers or 854,000 miles.

It took 142 years for the 4th of July to become a federal holiday in 1941. The date is celebrated as the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from King George III and England in 1776; By that time the new U. S. A. had been at technically at war with Enland for three years. Fighting began at Lexington and Concord in April 1775, most colonists still hoped for reconciliation with Great Britain

The original Declaration of Independence was engrossed on parchment which is an animal skin specially treated with lime and stretched to create a strong, long-lasting writing support. The printed version is on paper and was read aloud from town squares throughout the colonies, so that those who could not read would receive the news about intended separation from England.

The Declaration of Independence was adopted by 12 of 13 colonies (New York not voting) on July 4, 1776, but wasn’t actually signed by all the delegates until August 2, 1776.

Four teenaged boys in Orange County, Californa were arrested for makig “bombs’ using dry ice (solidified carbon dioxide cooled to minus 110 degrees) then putting it into capped bottles with water causing it to expand and burst the contaioner. They were orignally held on $1 milllion bail. One of these nitwits lobbed one through the open window of a passing car. Its driver was not hurt but his underwear took a beating.

What  would I have been charged with for pryng bricks out of streets and installing “railroad  torpedoes” under them then waiting for a car of truck to run over and explode them. The usually startled the driver and sending them careening to a stop. The half golfball sized railroad torpedoes were used to signal locomotive engineers over the engine’s racket and were lead wrapped explosives strapped to rails in special sequence to tell the engineer what to do as their engines entered switch yards..

My grandfather,  uncles and friends fathers and brothers provided a seemingly endless supply of the gadgets as a part of the 44h of July festivities along with cherry bombs and M-80s that could blowoff fingers and did. A favored stunt was to place an M=80 under an overturned can putting a slab of sandstone oo top and sitting on it while a friend touched off the explosive under the can.

Dr. Alex Comfort, the world famous author of The Joys of Sex told me about and showed me how he had blew off three fingers of the right hand while manufacturing homemade fire crackers as a boy.

Boeing is said to be discussing moving some manufacturing off shore in part, or perhaps in majority, due to interference by Obama with its building a plant in South Carolina a right to work state. NLRB, reportedly at White House urging  is contesting Boeing’s right to put a plant there.

Many countries, including America’s enemies, would welcome Boeing building airliners in their countries.

Money it is said goes where it is welcome. Heretofore that has been America. But that is no longer and increasingly less true especially in Obama’s overtly hostile anti- business environment.

Boeing employes 165,000 Americans including: 23,000 in California and 76,000 in Washington.

Eugene, Oregon’s City Council is apparently following NBC News’ lead and is “forgetting” to say the pledge of allegiance because some residents protest that they are not Americans but more importantly “citizens of the world” and should not pledge alligience to the United States of America, its flag or support it. The city council did OKsaying the pledge at four meetings a year - those closest to patritotic holidays including the Fourth of July.

Obama administration officials was  recruiting a team of “mystery shoppers” to pose as patients, call doctors’ offices and request appointments ….

The administration says the survey will … try to discover whether doctors are accepting patients with private insurance while turning away those in government health programs that pay lower reimbursement rates.

Federal officials predict that more than 30 million Americans will gain coverage under the health care law passed last year. “These newly insured Americans will need to seek out new primary care physicians, further exacerbating the already growing problem” of a shortage of such physicians in the United States, the Department of Health and Human Services said in a description of the project prepared for the White House.

Plans for the survey have riled many doctors because the secret shoppers will not identify themselves as working for the government.

“I don’t like the idea of the government snooping,” said Dr. Raymond Scalettar, an internist in Washington. “It’s a pernicious practice - Big Brother tactics, which should be opposed.”

According to government documents obtained from Obama administration officials, the mystery shoppers will call medical practices and ask if doctors are accepting new patients and, if so, how long the wait would be. The government is eager to know whether doctors give different answers to callers depending on whether they have public insurance, like Medicaid, or private insurance, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Dr. George J. Petruncio, a family doctor in Turnersville, N.J., said: “This is not a way to build trust in government. Why should I trust someone who does not correctly identify himself?”

Dr. Stephen C. Albrecht, a family doctor in Olympia, Wash., said: “If federal officials are worried about access to care, they could help us. They don’t have to spy on us.”

Dr. Robert L. Hogue, a family physician in Brownwood, Tex., asked: “Is this a good use of tax money? Probably not. Everybody with a brain knows we do not have enough doctors.” ….

In many states, Medicaid, the program for low-income people, pays so little that many doctors refuse to accept Medicaid patients. This could become a more serious problem in 2014, when the new health law will greatly expand eligibility for Medicaid….

In the mystery shopper survey, administration officials said, a federal contractor will call the offices of 4,185 doctors - 465 in each of nine states: Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. The doctors will include pediatricians and obstetrician-gynecologists.

The calls are to begin in a few months, with preliminary results from the survey expected next spring. Each office will be called at least twice - by a person who supposedly has private insurance and by someone who supposedly has public insurance….

Eleven percent of the doctors will be called a third time. The callers will identify themselves as calling “on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.” They will ask whether the doctors accept private insurance, Medicaid or Medicare, and whether they take “self-pay patients.” The study will note any discrepancies between those answers and the ones given to mystery shoppers.

Obama has since cancelled the scheme amid sharp criticism.

Monday Iran said it has build “numerous” below ground missile silos fitted with pretargeted launch ready missiles with ranges of 1,240 miles bringing Israel, and all U. S. bases in the region within range,

Obama has shelved any serious effort to generate Israel-Palestinian negotiations for at least two years, debkafile’s exclusive sources report from Washington. “It’s a second term issue,” he is quoted as telling his advisers. Only in November 2012 will he know if he is returned for another term as president and then too is unlikely to get back to the Israeli-Palestinian issue for several more months - “depending largely how the Arab Revolt” goes.

The decision is seem as entirely political as Obama pushes his notion of reapproachment with Iran to the alarm and dismay of most in Europe, the Middle East and but a handful of U. S. radical acvisits.

Contrary to the purportedly peaceful nature of the flotilla setting out this week to break Israel’s Gaza blockade, Israeli intelligence sources reported Monday, June 27, that some of the activists aboard the boats are extremists who are perfectly willing to forcibly resist efforts to intercept them and are ready to kill Israeli servicemen coming on board.
Senior officials in Jerusalem who briefed reporters Monday night reported information received that the organizers of the flotilla had laid in a store of poisoned chemicals aboard the ten or so vessels in the flotilla for use against Israeli troops boarding them. They are quoted as saying they had no problem with spilling the blood of Israeli soldiers.

Another falsehood exposed is the Turkish IHH’s statement that its members had withdrawn from the expedition. This turns out to be a deliberate red herring. Not only are IHH Islamic fundamentalists aboard but also likeminded Arab and other nationals. In fact, Israeli intelligence had identified at least two Hamas supporters - Amin Abu Rashd, one of the Dutch organizers of the flotilla and former head of a Hamas “charity” foundation in Holland which the Dutch security authorities shut down after discovering it was funding terrorist operations. The other one is Mohammed Ahmad Hanoun, head of another fund for terrorists called ABSPP.

Earlier Monday, the Israeli defense cabinet approved the navy’s plan for preventing the flotilla from reaching Gazan shores by “firm and determined action.”

It was not immediately known if Americans radicals will be aboard any of the flotilla vessels or not.

An alarming 791-page document believed to be a purloined North Korean police report details rampant corruption, narcotics trafficking, cannibalism, burglary and theft of state properties and other illegal activities.

The disturbing incidents, many caused by hunger, spurred the regime to create a special police squad and import large shipments of riot gear.

According to June 2009 report by the North’s police agency of the Ministry of Public Security, corruption is rampant among party, government and military officials who were robbing civilians and taking bribes.

The “manual for workers in law enforcement” was obtained by South Korea’s Caleb Mission, a Christian organization which has staged human rights activities for North Korea.

The Mission’s source inside the North captured digital photos of each page, listing a total of 721 criminal cases in detail along with punishment guidelines for criminal activities.

“We could not get the manual because it is classified. Instead, we got it as a file of digital photos to protect our inside source,” said Rev. Kim Sung-Eun who runs the Mission.

The police manual contained classified information covering three laws such as criminal law, civil law, and the criminal procedure law.

Its preface reads: “This manual is published for the first time and the listed examples are based on actual cases or probable circumstances.” Many of the cases seem true as organizations, place names, figures and cases are specifically identified, Kim said.

The majority of the 721 crime cases involved food, with accounts of cutting off military communication lines and stealing public properties to exchange them for food. Another case involved a group of merchants attacking a police office in protest against crackdowns on market trading of rice and other grains.

In one account, a male guard, named Lee Man-Sung, who could not bear his hunger, killed his colleague using an ax, ate some of the human flesh and sold the remainder in the market by disguising it as mutton. Four more cases related to cannibalism.

There were cases that confirm the widespread use of U.S. dollars in the reclusive country. The U.S. dollar is circulating among civilians and being used for bribes. A medical staff received $800 from five men who wanted poor heath grades to avoid mandatory military service.

There were many cases of attempts to dodge the draft in the country whose 1.2 million-strong armed forces serve as the backbone of its leader Kim Jong-Il’s “army-first” ideology.

The police manual also mentioned strong punishment of those possessing smuggled CDs containing South Korean films, a sign of South Korean culture’s popularity inside the isolated country.

The manual stipulated harsh punishment for any cases that involved criticism or disparagement of the personality cult of North Korea leader Kim Jong-Il and his royal family.

“It provides police guidelines for punishing crimes against the state and the leadership,” said a senior North Korean defector. “This shows how seriously the regime is worried about deepening social unrest,” he said.

Seoul’s Unification Ministry responsible for handling inter-Korean affairs said that it could not immediately determine the authenticity of the report. Ministry officials refused to make comments on the alleged police manual, but a ministry official said “signs of social unrest are growing in recent years in the North.”

With the deepening social unrest, the North’s regime has imported large amounts of riot gear, such as tear gas, helmets and shield, from China, according to a report by South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency on June 20.

“The North has also considered buying flak jackets, protective clothing and other equipment that could be used against rioters,” Yonhap said in a dispatch from Beijing. The development indicated the North is concerned about any possible popular uprising similar to the ones in North Africa and the Middle East that ousted longtime autocratic leaders, the report said.

The riot gear is likely to be given to “special riot control forces” the North formed late last year to cope with possible civic protests. The special troops have been spotted in cities armed with pistols and batons and have staged training sessions at public sites, such as train stations, town plazas, schools and parks, according to the Chosun Ilbo, Seoul’s biggest newspaper.

“Protests by economically troubled people have occurred more frequently and are getting bigger,” a separate source in Seoul said.

Facts about volcanoes include:

  • There are over 500 active volcanoes in the world.
  • About 20 per cent of all volcanoes are underwater.
  • About 20 to 30 volcanoes erupt each year, mostly under the sea.
  • Lava from an erupting volcano may be as hot as 1200 degrees centigrade.

Wrapped in red tape and hence cutting the red tape seems to have origins to the time when writing was reserved for the elite few until deep into the post Christian era before it was routine to “sign documents by affixing a seal often using a signet ring affixed to parchment by ribbons. That bulked up official documents and then they were wrapped up and closed  with strips of red cloth because red was the color of  officialdom.

The colorful term used to refer to the seemingly endless parade of paperwork that accompanies many official matters got its start back in jolly old England. when thick legal documents were bound or tied with (what else?) red cloth tape. So when someone spoke of cutting through the red tape, they meant it in a very literal sense.

By the 19th century, however, the term had become much more figurative in meaning and referred to “any official routine or procedure marked by excessive complexity which results in delay or inaction.”

Governments are notorious for excessive red tape. While searching the Web for info on the term, we found at least three official sites aimed at reducing the amount of sticky bureaucracy in other countries.

“Cutting the red tape” cam intoi commone usage sometimke in the 17th or 18th centuries.

Moron - derogatory word, slang - meaning - someone who is not so intelligent ….

The term is derived from the Greek word ‘moros’ which means dull. This word was arbitratily given to adults with the mental ages of eight to twelve year olds by Dr. Henry H. Goddard. He decided to split these individuals into 3 IQ levels ’s and he was looking for a word to describe the highest group …. and he chose ‘moron’ …..

  • § Moron :an IQ of 51-70, being superior in one degree to
  • § “imbecile” (IQ of 26-50) and superior in two degrees to
  • § “idiot” (IQ of 0-25).

Take note however it was only  a valid descriptor in the psychological community in the early 1900′s. They are not longer applied as Goddard recanted his earlier theory starting from the 1920′s. However, these words have all now passed into common slang use only.

An average person is said to have an iQ of 100 and those with an IQ between 84 and 116 generally act aimilarly and get along. Those will Iqs ranked 16 points above or below have detectbile differences.

Taft, California changed its name from Moron, California when the Postmaster General refused its use as a valid address. The town began as Siding Number Two on the Sunset Railroad. The businesses there were called Moro. Moro was changed to Moron to avoid confusion with Morro Bay. The name was changed to Taft in honor of William Howard Taft.

The town began as Moron in 1888. Siding Number 2 was a railroad reference when the railroad was built 13 years later in 1901. The name was changed to Taft during President Taft one and only term 1908 - 1912 in order to establish a Post Office in the town. The US Post Master General refused to issue a license to a town named Moron.

How did “love” come to mean zero in tennis? Love - meaning - zero in the scoring system well, the term comes from the french word ‘l’oeuf’, meaning ‘egg’. The French use it to designate ‘no score’ or ‘zero’ because an egg looks like a zero.

In a further blow to America or more specifically American’s future. The international banking community saysThe U.S. dollar is poised to lose its status as the global reserve currency during the next 25 years, according to a UBS survey of central bank reserve managers.

“Right now there is great concern out there around the financial trajectory that the US is on,” said Larry Hatheway, chief economist at UBS, told the Financial Times, because the dollar has dropped 5 percent so far this year, and is trading close to its lowest ever level against a basket of the world’s major currencies.

This survey stands in sharp contrast to those conducted in previous years, in which the central bank reserve managers said the dollar would retain its status as the sole reserve currency.

UBS queried more than 80 central bank reserve managers, sovereign wealth funds and multilateral institutions. The results pf the survey weren’t weighted for assets under management.

The poll findings also indicate a growing role for gold bullion, with 6 percent of those surveyed saying the biggest change in their reserves during the next decade would be adding more gold.

This also contrasts with polls done in previous years, in which none of those surveyed indicated making significant sales of gold in the next decade.

Venezuelan president  and anti-America, pro-communism dictator Hugo Chávez extended stay in a Cuban hospital is because he is in critical condition, according to a .  report in a Miami newspaper. Chavez, a believer that the state should control all industry, including medical services, could not receive the adequate treatment for his life threatening condition in his own nation. This could be because he does not trust any of the doctors in Venezuela with his life threatening condition, or, that there are no doctors left in his nation that are capable of undertaking such surgeries with good outcomes.

Chavez may have prostate cancer but so far that can not be conmfirmed. It is ironic that Chavez touted his socialized medicine and then wh=ent to Cuba’s third rate hospital system for care.

Cuban doctors that are sent to Venezuela defect in large numbers - including somewhere in the neighborhood of 4,000 doctors alone in 2006.

Califonira Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown stunned unionist allies by vetoeing the so-called “card-check” legislation would have provided unionizing farmworkers an alternative to the secret ballot, letting unions organize them instead through signed petition cards. Card check is seen by many as an outrage that could force workers into unions or riskretribution and even violence.

Card check (also called majority sign-up) is a method for American employees to organize into a labor union in which a majority of employees in a bargaining unit sign authorization forms, or “cards,” stating they wish to be represented by the union. The technique can be traced to the mid-1930s when the National Labor Relations Board was created under FDR’s aministration “to protect worker rights.”

When the cards are submitted to the NLRB and if more than 50% of the employees submitted cards, the NLRB requires the employer to recognize the union.Critics worry that the ability of stripping rights to a secret ballot would abrograte Constittional protections. In as much as a worker could only not submit a card to express dissent.
