My wife “is not responsible for any of this”.
So was that going to be his defense before Weiner hired the private dick to investigate the public one?
It was past time to pull a Jerry Springer confession after writing the check (AKA sending the lewd image) since he had already done the finger wagging of Bill Clinton. Gotta be lucky and loved like Clinton, not just married by Clinton, see below. That may be beyond his normal smart mouth game.
House rules that say a member “shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”But then Weiner is prepared on that front and defends himself by saying he did it all with his own personal equipment.
Weiner married Hillary Rodham Clinton aide Huma Abedin last July, with former President Bill Clinton officiating. Before that, Weiner had been known as one of New York’s most eligible bachelors.
Weiner began his career as a legislative assistant to then-Rep. Chuck Schumer, who is now the state’s senior senator. He was elected to the New York City Council before winning Schumer’s House seat in 1998, representing parts of Brooklyn and Queens.
Earlier Monday before Weiner’s public admission, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was asked whether the congressman could continue to effectively represent New Yorkers.
“It’s always up to the constituents,” Bloomberg said, adding that it was “time to get back and focus on the serious things.”
He gained a national profile during the debate over President Barack Obama’s health care plan when he outspokenly professed support for a government-run “single-payer” program for everyone and later a “public option” to compete with private health insurance. He got the notice of liberals even though both proposals failed to make it into law.
Coincidentally, Barney Frank and Weiner both support the pubic option.

“At the end of the day I lied because I was embarrased.” “And I’m not going to resign.” Say no more. And be prepared to ignore the Democrats who decide to posture about “investigating” at least until the polls are in. The Re;publicans will probably take a back seat on this one, they usually get burnt on matters of sex. Or is it mostly abuse of power and expression of arrogance?
