During a visit to Paris last week, Rear Admiral James G. Faggo, operational head of the U.S. 6th fleet in charge of G3 (intelligence) said that 60% of the Libyan army’s potential was still operational. This assessment from U.S. military intelligence concerns the regime’s shock troops, as well as the 32nd Brigade, the special forces brigade loyal to Muammar Gaddhafi. These elements, which were at the forefront of the military operation against the insurgents ) are currently being spared and kept away from the most recent clashes, in particular in Misrata. Furthermore, even though it has slowed, the flow of mercenaries from sub-Saharan Africa continues. The assessment underscores the limits of the coalition forces’ air raids, while Gaddhafi ’s troops, in particular his artillery units, have changed their tactics. Their mobility and their stealth are complicating the work of imagery analysts at NATO targeting centers, which are responsible for some 60-odd sorties a day by French, British Norwegian, Canadian, Belgian and occasionally U.S. aircraft. The crisis is therefore not about to be over, contrary to what James Jones, Barack Obama ’s former security advisor said during a visit to Paris at the end of March.

Among France’s military top brass, generals say there is a discrepancy between the alliance’s political goals and the military operations. The very complex chain of command, ill-adapted to dealing with very mobile targets, ranges from the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), headed by Admiral James Stavridis, to the operational centre at Poggio Renatico in Italy. In between are the Canadian Lieutenant General Charles Bouchard, the commander of Operation Unified Protector, who reports to American Admiral Samuel Locklear, commander of NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples, and the Allied Air Command in Izmir, Turkey, led by Generals Ralph Jodice and Vincent Teniere. According to several sources, ground attack planes are regularly obliged to touch down because they have run out of fuel while waiting for a target to be designated.

Iran is hosting over 200 North Korean missile and nuclear personnel many with fake passports to disguise identities,. North Korea is said to have sent more than 200 engineers to help Iran’s missile and nuclear program.

the North Koreans were working in 12 Iranian missile and nuclear locations. The North Korean presence was said to have been expanded over the last two years amid U.S. efforts to block Pyongyang’s missile and nuclear exports to Iran.

“The more than 200 engineers are divided between 12 locations including Natanz, where there are uranium enrichment facilities

Iran is also constructing missile facilities in the South American country of Venezuela where a communist dictator holds sway. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is building an intermediate-range rocket-launch facility near Columbia.

Dog-and-pony show (dog and POH-nee shoh) noun: An elaborately staged presentation or briefing arranged for public relations, selling, etc. Also, a presentation that is overly contrived. Al-Qaeda has chosen Saif al-Adel a former Egyptian special forces officer as interim leader after the killing of Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden’s long-time deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, another Egyptian, is considered to be his presumed successor.

He is a U.S.-trained former colonel in the Egyptian Army, who spent most of his time in Special Forces. He claimed to have participated in the October 1973 against Israel In the early-1980s, he was suspected of indirect involvement in the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar as-Sadat.

Ben Stein says the “Arab spring” as a force for democracy and peace in Egypt seems to me to be a fraud.

The dictator and his entourage who were kicked out in Egypt were pro-West, a bit restrained on Israel, open to free enterprise, and resistant to Iranian-sponsored terror.

Now what? Egypt is now rapidly becoming anti-Israel, pro-Iran, pro  Hamas, and very far from being pro-human rights.

The most potent of the political forces in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood, hates the United States, loathes Israel, condemns the killing of bin Laden (whom they praised as a martyr), and have been wedded to terror for their entire existence.

The bump Obama received after the of Osama bin Laden killing less than two weeks ago in Pakistan has vanished completely, according to the latest Gallup Tracking poll released Monday.

Obama’s approval rating is now at 46 percent, equal to his approval rating in the last tracking poll conducted before Obama addressed Americans late on May 1 and informed them of bin Laden’s death. Forty-four percent of Americans now disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president.

The poll also comes the same day as Gallup announced that three in four Americans “name some type of economic issue as the ‘most important problem’ facing the country today — the highest net mentions of the economy in two years. Those numbers, combined with Obama’s fleeting boost, suggest the economy remains — by far — the dominant issue of the 2012 presidential campaign.

Remember when Obama bought a 60% stake in General Motors for $29.1 billion in taxpayers money. Then a couple weeks ago it would sell its stake losing $19 billion. GM’s President says Cadillac is proud to do so.

There have been 24 FTC investigations into the price of gasoline. None, not one, of those persecutions have found any evidence of price fixinf or wrong doing by oil companies. Gasoline has plateaued at slightly less than $4 per gallon.

A U.S. space probe carrying four gyroscopes has confirmed two key elements of Albert Einstein’s (1879-1955) theory of relativity about 95 years after he postulated it and 56 years after he died.

Scientists from Stanford University near Palo Alto, California, measured how space and time are warped by gravitational bodies, a phenomenon called the geodetic effect. The probe launched in 2004 also analyzed frame-dragging, the way spinning objects pull space and time around them.

The effects were demonstrated by having Gravity Probe B point at a star, IM Pegasi, while orbiting Earth. If gravity didn’t affect space and time, the gyroscopes aboard the probe would point in the same direction forever during their orbit, as Isaac Newton had theorized. Instead, they showed tiny, measurable changes in the direction of their spin as Earth’s gravity tugged at them, as Einstein had predicted.

“Imagine the Earth as if it were immersed in honey,” Stanford physicist Francis Everitt, who led the project funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, said in a statement. “As the planet rotates, the honey around it would swirl, and it’s the same with space and time.”

The findings were the culmination of 49 years of work by a Stanford scientist who came to Stanford in 1962 to help build the most precise gyroscope ever designed and produced, according to NASA.

“The mission results will have a long-term impact on the work of theoretical physicists

As Obama’s 2-week war drags into its third month. Officials said the Western alliance has been convening to discuss changes in the conduct of the air war over Libya. They said the assessment by most NATO chiefs was that the current war against the regime of Libyan Col. Moammar Gadhafi could last for at least a year.

Officials said several NATO members were increasing their demands for a deadline for the end of the Libyan mission. They cited the loss of Libyan crude oil exports, believed to have been a major factor in the high price of energy in 2011.

“If we do not up the ante now there is a risk that the conflict could result in Gadhafi clinging to power,” British Chief of Staff Gen. David Richards said.

Richards called for intensified strikes on Gadhafi to ensure his surrender. The British military chief said NATO, operating under United Nations mandate, was currently limited in its targets and was avoiding most assets of the Gadhafi regime.

“At present, NATO is not attacking infrastructure targets in Libya,” Richards told the British newspaper Sunday Telegraph on May 15. “But if we want to increase the pressure on Gadhafi’s regime then we need to give serious consideration to increasing the range of targets we can hit.”

The discussions on NATO war strategy were renewed in wake of a series of strikes on Gadhafi’s compound in May. On May 13, Gadhafi was said to have been injured in a NATO air attack, a report that turned out to be false. Later, Gadhafi said NATO would not be able to find him.

“The Libyan people will not kneel and will not give in,” Libyan Foreign Minister Abdul Ati Obeidi said.

NATO has said it would target Gadhafi’s command and control facilities, deemed a code-word for regime headquarters. But so far many of the casualties from these strikes have been civilian, including nine Muslim clerics in the Brega on May 13.

Two days later, a NATO air strike was said to have killed Gadhafi’s spokesman, Col. Milad Al Fiqhi. The opposition has deemed Al Fiqhi a key commander in the regime military campaign against the rebels, particularly in Zawiya.

NATO has also sought to expand sanctions on Gadhafi. On May 16, the International Criminal Court ordered the arrest of Gadhafi, his son, Seif, and intelligence chief Abdullah Sanousi on charges of committing crimes against humanity over the last three months.

For its part, the Libyan opposition has urged NATO to expand its mission and directly attack the Gadhafi regime. At the same time, the opposition has expressed confidence that Gadhafi’s military was no longer able to quell the revolt.

“People are marching, gaining more confidence,” Mahmoud El Warfali, deemed interim prime minister of the opposition’s Libyan Transitional National Council, told the Washington-based Saban Center for Middle East Policy on May 12. “They are getting better experienced. They are gaining more ground, more organization. I think that few coming weeks will witness more grounds to be gained by the freedom fighters.”

Washington sources say that Obama has finally resolved to stamp down hard on Syrian President Bashar Assad in person as the man responsible for the inhuman Syrian crackdown on protest against his regime and the massacre of hundreds of dissenters. Before his much-awaited speech on US relations with Middle East Muslim nations Thursday, May 19, Obama is preparing to impose sanctions on the Syrian president.  The White House is working on the final text of the announcement but has already decided to recall the newly-appointed US Ambassador to Damascus Robert Ford for consultations.

An American ambassador was last recalled from Damascus in 2005. It took five years for Obama to appoint Robert Ford to the post in late 2010.

The administration has also decided to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna to report to the UN Security Council that Syria was building a plutonium reactor for military purposes at Deir A-Zour, which it was bombed by Israeli in September 2007. Damascus has refused to cooperate with the nuclear watchdog in making the site available for inspection. The IAEA is therefore urged to seek the same Security Council for Syria as those imposed on Iran for its nuclear activities.

Obama was finally convinced that Assad must be stopped without delay by the horrifying discovery of five hastily-dug dug mass graves near the protest center of Daraa in southern Syria. They containing scores of bodies of men, women and children shot in the head. This raised the civilian death toll from Assad’s savage three-month crackdown on dissent well past 1,000.

Obama’s inaction and bias against Israel, and abandonment of allies in the region has created an enormous imbalance.

If Assad moves Iranian suppkied missiles into Lebanon Israel will attack rather than allow that threat to its very survival,

The resignation of Obama envoy John Mitchell is widely seen as a symbol of how inept Obama’s Rodney-King-like foreign policy is, and further pandering on May 19 will only feed the anti-west, anti-Judeo-Christian antipathy and hostility.

Former California sometimes Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a bastard child and keep it a secret for ten years. The mother is a former household staffer, The illicit pair kept the secret from his wife Maria Shriver who when she learned of the child moved out of their Brentwood home and started divorce proceedings they have four children.

Schwarzenegger had numerous, late night rendezvous with various women at his Santa Monica office building … and some of the women were mysteriously carrying legal-sized manila envelopes . sources say there were other women — at least two of whom repeatedly came to his office at around 1 AM with manila envelopes and would spend hours there.  Sources familiar with the office when these women were coming in — approximately 5 - 7 years ago — say there were several bedrooms in the suite where they would go.

Arnold kept his home staff and business staff separate.  The woman whom he impregnated was a member of his household staff and worked there for over 20-years she. retired and received an undisclosed severance package,

After Schwarzenegger and Shriver married in 1986, they became one of America’s most famous couples. In recent days Shriver has been courted to hostess a television show. Reportedly one solicitor has been Oprah.

The 64-year-old Schwarzenegger is reportedly going back to Hollywood where he is said to be readying to self-produce movies and perhaps for TV.

Shriver a Kennedy certainly knows first hand about pillandering men. Reportedly Schwarzenegger told Shriver about his bastard child soon after leaving office in January

Scientists said on Monday a rocky world orbiting a “nearby” (20 light years distant) star was confirmed as the first planet outside our solar system to meet key requirements for sustaining life like earths..

Modelling of planet Gliese 581d shows it has the potential to be warm and wet enough to nurture Earth-like life, they said.

It orbits a red dwarf star called Gliese 581, located around 20 light years from Earth, which makes it one of our closest neighbours.

Gliese 581d orbits on the outer fringes of the star’s “Goldilocks zone,” where it is not so hot that water boils away, nor so cold that water is perpetually frozen. Instead, the temperature is just right for water to exist in liquid form.

“With a dense carbon dioxide atmosphere — a likely scenario on such a large planet — the climate of Gliese 581d is not only stable against collapse but warm enough to have oceans, clouds and rainfall,” France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) said in a press release.

More than 500 planets orbiting other stars have been recorded since 1995, detected mostly by a tiny wobble in stellar light.

Exoplanets are named after their star and listed alphabetically, in order of discovery.

Until now, the big interest in Gliese 581’s roster of planets focussed on Gliese 581g.

It leapt into the headlines last year as “Zarmina’s World,” after its observers announced it had roughly the same mass as Earth’s and was also close to the Goldilocks zone.

But that discovery has since been discounted by many. Indeed, some experts suspect that the Gliese 581g may not even exist but was simply a hiccup in starlight.

Its big brother, Gliese 581d, has a mass at least seven times that of Earth and is about twice our planet’s size, according to the new study, which appears in a British publication, The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The planet, spotted in 2007, had initially been dismissed as a candidate in the hunt for life.

It receives less than a third of the solar radiation Earth gets, and may be “tidally locked,” meaning that one side of it always faces the sun, which would give it permanent dayside and nightside.

But the new model, devised by CNRS climate scientists Robin Wordsworth, Francois Forget and colleagues, showed surprising potential.

Its atmosphere would store heat well, thanks to its dense CO2, a greenhouse gas. And the red light from the star would also penetrate the atmosphere and warm the surface.

“In all cases, the temperatures allow for the presence of liquid water on the surface,” say the researchers.

For budding travellers, though, Gliese 581d would “still be a pretty strange place to visit,” the CNRS said.

“The denser air and thick clouds would keep the surface in a perpetual murky red twilight, and its large mass means that surface gravity would be around double that on Earth.”

Getting to the planet would still require a sci-fi breakthrough in travel for earthlings.

A spaceship travelling close to light speed would take more than 20 years to get there, while our present rocket technology would take 300,000 years. I would not put a deposit on vacation property there just yet. A light year is 5,865,696,000,000 (trillion) miles.

Pakistan has been discovered beavering away to increase its nuclear weapons arsenal. It has built three more reactors to produce weapons grade plutonium. It is known to have more than 100 warheads.

The U. S. is set to shovel $3 billion to Pakistan and those funds could be used for its nuclear weapons program.

While some in the House want to cut off all freign aid- that does not include military aide- we reimburse Pakistan for its “war on terror and about 40% of those billions are being questioned too.
