Muslims and Coptic Christians in a Cairo suburb left 12 people dead, dozens wounded and a church charred in one of the most serious outbreaks of violence the country’s interim rulers have faced since taking power in February.Muslims attacked the church and Christians after rumors the Coptics were imprisoning women to keep them from converting to Islam.
Saturday night, May 7, President Barack Obama gave the Pakistani government, army and intelligence something of an ultimatum: Cooperate in the capture of the three wanted men or else we shall pump more American soldiers into Pakistan to take up the pursuit with or without your permission.
US intelligence is convinced that Omer, Zawahiri and al-Adal have joined forces and are plotting a revenge attack on America dramatic enough to outdo the psychological impact of the bin Laden killing.
Serious question about Pakistan’s collusion with terror groups linger amid rumorm and maybe now evidence that the bloody attack on the Mumbai, India hotel where the Pakitani ISI was centrally involved where at least 166 people had been killed in the attacks and 293 wounded.

Israeli intelligence believes Syria’s Assad will be ousted. The revolt against Assad was being fueled by elements in Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. It said these countries have supplied funds and weapons for daily attacks by Islamic fighters on Assad’s security forces. Assad’s forces are being aided by Iran. That formula perhaps explains why the U. S. has pussy-footed around Syria.
The intelligence assessment envisioned two prospects. One was that Assad would be ousted in an internal coup led by his younger brother Maher or a senior regime member. Another scenario was that Iran directly helps the military in overthrowing Assad in exchange for a commitment that Syria remains loyal to Teheran.
On May 2, the regime gave the protest movement two weeks to surrender or face arrest, an ultimatum that officials said reflected pressure on the president himself.
“I don’t think Israel should be alarmed by the possibility of Assad being replaced,” Barak, who broke a government silence on Syria, said. “The process taking place in the Middle East holds great promise and inspiration in the long term for our children and grandchildren.”

The U.S. Border Patrol has told its agents to stop arresting illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico to keep the illegal immigration numbers down, Arizona Sheriff Larry Dever
He also charges that Attorney General Eric Holder is “holding hands with the ACLU” to protect illegal aliens from prosecution, says illegals are committing “heinous crimes” across America every day, and calls claims that the federal government should be solely responsible for controlling illegal immigration “balderdash.”
Dever is sheriff of Cochise County, which shares an 83-mile border with Mexico, and he says his Border Patrol sector is responsible for half of all illegal aliens caught trying to enter the country and halt the narcotics entering the United States.
The Obama administration is presenting the successful Osama bin Laden hit as an epic American solo operation, unparalleled in military and intelligence annals, while leaning hard on Islamabad to sack certain officers of the powerful military intelligence army ISI including its head Lt. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha, accusing them of keeping the dead al Qaeda leader hidden for eight years.
Cook County, Ill., Sheriff’s Police seized a four-foot alligator Thursday from a 43-year-old south suburban man who says he kept the animal as a pet to attract women. He’s have been better off with a few alligator handbags.
Just hours after bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a high-ranking US official landed in Islamabad with a demand to bring the ISI officers involved in sheltering the al Qaeda leader to book.
According to information obrained from his wife Osama came to Pakistan in 2003 and stayed in the small village of Chak Shah Mohammad near Haripur 40 kilometers north of the Pakistani capital.
She said the family stayed in the village two and-a-half years before moving to Abbottabad in 2005.
In the mounting duel between the Obama administration and Pakistan, two conflicting versions of the bin Laden episode are unfolding, with potentially detrimental effect on the Afghan War and global war on terror.
The rising acrimony between Washington and Islamabad may well deter Pakistani intelligence from fingering more wanted al Qaeda figures and their hideouts - or even encourage the ISI to stand aside when Taliban goes for American targets in revenge for bin Laden’s termination.

Syrian President Bashar Assad, whose regime has been battling an emboldened opposition, could decide to attack Israel, according to a report by a leading Israeli government consultant warned that Assad or his aides could decide to attack Israel in a last-ditch attempt to quell the revolt.
Some think this possibility explains Obama;s tacid support for Assad.
Mordechai Kedar, regarded as a leading Israeli strategist and government consultant on Arab affairs, said the Syrian military could be ordered to fire massive missile and rocket salvos toward the Jewish state.
“In the event of a total collapse of the governmental apparatus, someone in the Syrian regime might think along the lines of ‘Let me die with the Israelis’ and launch nasty weapons in Israel’s direction,’ ” the report, titled “To the Last Syrian,” said.
“In such a case, it will be difficult for Israel to respond effectively for there will be no one to deter and punish.”
The report, published by Bar-Ilan University, said Assad was not expected to drag Israel into the Syrian revolt as long his army and police remained functioning.
But Kedar, a reserve intelligence officer, said Israel must be prepared for a surprise Syrian weapons of mass destruction attack if the Assad regime believed it was facing imminent collapse.
“Israel must be prepared for such a scenario, and especially keep its eyes and ears open in light of the weapons of mass destruction in Syrian hands,” the report said.
The report said Assad would not risk an Israeli counter-attack as long as his army was functioning. Assad was said to need his air force, particularly its helicopters, to quell the revolt.
“As long as the regime has military and police forces at its disposal, it will not attempt to drag Israel into battle because Israel is liable to strike hard, in particular disabling its helicopters and preventing it from operating against the masses,” the report said.
Kedar also proposed that Israel help the opposition by sending supplies into Syrian cities. He said such Israeli assistance could influence any post-Assad government.
“To the government of Israel I would propose parachuting medicines into Syrian cities using unmanned drones,” the report said. “This would be an excellent investment for the future.”
The report envisioned several options, including a military or intelligence agency coup. Another scenario was the collapse of Syria, prompting a Sunni campaign against the ruling Alawite minority as well as a Kurdish revolt.
“If the Alawis lose the battle for the Syrian street and their control of the government, the worst will transpire for them, frenzied Sunni masses will descend on Alawi neighborhoods in Damascus, Homs, Hama and Aleppo, armed with knives, ready to detach Alawi heads from their necks,” the report said.
“The Alawis will flee to the Ansayriyyah Mountains, their ancestral homeland in western Syria, and, entrenched there, will defend their lives.”

Canada’s Foreign Minister stated in late 2009 that his country is worried about territorial encroachment on Canada’s resource-rich arctic territories.
Russia announced in March it is setting up a special operations forces brigade in the Kola Peninsula to cover the Arctic, and Chinese officials also are seeking the region’s resources.
“The Arctic belongs to all the people around the world as no nation has sovereignty over it,” said Chinese Rear Adm. Yin Zhuo in March 2010 in what was viewed as a Beijing claim to the North Pole.
A State Department cable from the American consulate in Toronto dated Nov. 23, 2009 said Cannon in a speech outlining the government’s foreign priorities noted that “promotion of Canada’s Northern Strategy in the Arctic was the clear focus.”
The cable said Canada has four Arctic principles aimed at countering encroachment by countries he did not name. The principles include exercising Canada’s sovereignty; promoting economic and social development; protecting Canada’s environmental heritage; and improving and devolving governance.
The White House is releasing more information on the details of that attack on Osama bin Laden. They said the helicopters were able to fly in undetected because it was 1:00 a.m. and the Pakistan air traffic controller was sound asleep. - Leno
Beijing has hailed the death of Osama bin Laden as a step forward in the war against terrorism, it is focusing on ways to boost its leverage in Afghanistan and surrounding regions in the wake of the accelerated pullout of American troops.
Chinese multinationals are also mapping out ambitious plans to get a bigger chunk of the infrastructure and reconstruction business in the war-torn nation. Ironically much of that rebuilding will be with U. S. dollar largely borrowed from China.
Beijing has adopted a low-key response to bin Laden’s demise.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said China welcomed the death of Osama bin Laden as an “important event and [a sign of] active progress” in the global anti-terrorist campaign. She added that “terrorism is the public enemy of the world and China has also fallen victim to it.”
However, most official commentators have chosen to play down the achievements of the U.S. intelligence and anti-terrorism community. Nationalistic Chinese Netizens have even blasted the U.S. for taking out what they call an “anti-imperialistic guerrilla hero.”
In an editorial, the usually hard-line Global Times noted that given the power of the U.S. and its allies, “it should have been much easier” for Washington to get rid of the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. The paper suggested the difficulties lie in the truncation of American soft power as well as lack of justice in Washington’s policies toward the Middle East and neighboring regions.
A commentary in the People’s Daily pointed out that “while bin Laden was buried in the spring, America’s anti-terrorist war is still going through a bleak winter.”
For the past year, the Chinese Communist Party leadership has worked hard in augmenting its influence in Afghanistan - and it seems confident that China’s position will improve if bin Laden’s death results in the further acceleration of the pullout of American troops.
Helped partly by its decades-old quasi-alliance relationship with Pakistan, Beijing diplomats and businessmen have been quietly building up relations with the Taliban and Afghan tribal leaders, as well as other power blocs in Afghanistan.
Chinese government representatives have also been persuading the administration of President Hamid Karzai to increase economic cooperation in the wake of Beijing’s $3.5 billion investment in an Afghan copper mine three years ago.
Apart from the minerals sector, giant Chinese multinationals in logistics, infrastructure and construction - in particular Cosco and Sinotrans - have made significant inroads in Afghanistan.
Chinese state companies already have several thousand engineers and laborers working on infrastructure projects in Pakistan, including areas where risks for foreigners are extremely high.
Western diplomatic analysts say Beijing is poised to extend its time-tested “infrastructure diplomacy” - which includes economic aid coupled with advanced know-how in building roads, railways and energy plants - into Afghanistan.
Apart from geopolitical and commercial interests, Beijing is concerned with stability in its northwestern Xinjiang Autonomous Region, which is home tosome 10 million Muslim Uighurs.
Chinese officials have indicated that before 9/11, the Taliban in Afghanistan had provided training to scores of anti-Beijing Uighur terrorists. Chinese soldiers guarding Xinjiang have restarted routine military maneuvers in the past month despite signs that the situation in the restive region is largely under control.

Inexplicably in the middle of this latest dustup China’s secretive military for the second time this year posted photos of a new jet fighter.
This time a warplane dubbed the J-15 is being featured. It is the newest attack jet with folding wings that appears set to be part of Beijing’s first aircraft carrier, which is set to begin sea trials this summer.
The J-15 photos followed the dramatic flight test in January of the J-20, China’s developmental fifth generation fighter, that was flown during the visit of Defense Secretary Robert Gates as a show of force to what the PLA regards as its main enemy, the United States.
Chinese state media showed photos of J-15 outside the aircraft production plant in Shenyang in northeast China.
The J-15 is based on technology from the U.S. F-35 that was stolen via cyberespioange from the United States through third parties in Europe.
The Chinese aircraft carrier Shi Lang is based on the 1988 Soviet Kuznetzov-class aircraft carrier purchased from Ukraine that China initially said would be used as a floating casino is what U.S. experts have called strategic disinformation.
Some experts say the J-15 is based on Russian Su-33 jets.

In a recent installment of Hollywood anti-Americanism Superman dropped his “”truth, Justice and the Ameircan Way” motto in the most recent movie. Now It looks as if even our comic book heroes aren’t immune from the globalist agenda that is hacking away at the idea of American exceptionalism.
Superman, an icon of American comic book literature, has always been a pillar of patriotism. Now, though, the Man of Steel is not only giving up his motto, he’s also casting off his American citizenship. And he’s set to do it while speaking at, of all places, the United Nations.
Superman’s renunciation will take place in Action Comics #900, which revolves around him lending support to protesters in Iran. When the Iranian government claims that Superman’s actions are tantamount to an act of war on the part of the United States, the Man of Steel declares that he will renounce his citizenship so that he can become a global superhero.
In an unfortunate cinematic turn of events, Hollywood had already dispensed with the time-honored motto in the last film installment of Superman. Guess now we have to prepare ourselves to see a new politically correct Man of Steel sully the big screen

When I was in the 2nd grade we were living near the Navy base at San Diego,California where my Dad was stationed. Mother’s Day was approaching and I saw the most wonderful gift i n a tiny shop window going to and from Oceanside grade school - four thumb-sized bottles of “perfume’ in a fancy blue velvet covered cardboard display box.
I collected pop and other bottles for weeks dutifully paying installments for the most wonderful of all Mother’s Day gifts. I sometimes ran what in retrospect were meaningless errands for the store owner and soon the perfume was mine. To wrap and give my morht. Forty years later when my mother died there at the bottom of her cedar chest was that Mother’s Day gift still intact.

Cinco de Mayo according to Time magazine, is the 4th drunkest holiday in America. The first three are St. Patrick’s Day.
Obama is expected any day now to sign an executive order that routs 70 years of efforts to get politics out of official federal business.
Under the order, all companies (and their officers) would be required to list their political donations as a condition to bidding for government contracts. Companies can bid and lose out for the sin of donating to Republicans. Or they can protect their livelihoods by halting donations to the GOP altogether-which is the White House’s real aim. Think of it as “not-pay to play.”
Whatever you call it, the order amounts to the White House brazenly directing the power of government against its political opponents-and at a time when the president claims to want cooperation on the budget and other issues. Senate Republicans from Mitch McConnell to Susan Collins are fuming, warning this is one political sucker punch too far, an unabashedly partisan move that will damage Senate work.

Hundreds of Islamist Salafists defied security forces and held special prayers Friday for al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden-
Al Qaeda, the bin Laden terror network that masterminded the deadly attack 10 years ago, confirmed its leader’s death on Friday in a Web statement and used that opportunity to taunt and threaten the United States.
The statement, which congratulates the “Islamic Nation on the martyrdom of their devoted son Osama,” repeated themes and threats made over the years in al Qaeda statements, before and after the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States.
“The blood of the mujahid sheikh, Osama bin Laden, may God have mercy on him, is very dear to us and more precious to us and to every Muslim from being shed in vain,” the statement said. A mujahid is defined as a Muslim engaged in what he considers to be jihad.
“This blood will be a curse that will chase the Americans and their agents, a curse that will pursue them inside and outside their country, and soon - with God’s help — we pray that their happiness turns into sorrow and may their blood mix with their tears and let Sheikh Osama’s resonate again.”
Al Qaeda frequently cites the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in its pronouncements, and it did so again, saying America “will neither enjoy nor live in security until our people in Palestine live it and enjoy it.”
“The soldiers of Islam in groups and as individuals will continue to plan and plot without any fatigue, boredom, despair, surrender or indifference until you receive from them a cunning misfortune that will gray the hair of the child even before he gets old,” the statement said.
Records seized in Osama’s compound reveal a plot to attack America on the 10th Anniversary of the 9-11-2001 attacks include derailing passenger trains in a mass casualty effort.
Obama is beavering away on a vehicle mileage tax requiring all vehicle miles to be electronically measured and per mile taxes levied. Automakers would first be required to install, at buyer expense the so-called mileage computer to track evey turn of its tire. There has, from time-to-time been suggestions to change different fees for different day parts and lacales. So, if you drive outside a carpool lane through LA at peak traffic times you’d be chanrged much more thatnfor driving on an abdandoned freeway at 2AM. Imagine what other social engineering would be possible.
Ironically the State of Washington has slapped an excise tax on electric vehicles because they use less gasoline so the state collects less fuel taxes.
A surprisingly diverse crop of people are questioning whether Osama bin Laden is actually dead. Some media outlets and bloggers are calling them “deathers.”
Their claims follow a wide range: Some believe that the world’s most-wanted terrorist was not the man killed Sunday, others think bin Laden is dead but was killed many years ago, and still others believe that the September 11 mastermind is alive — and secretly being interrogated. One Fox Business News host is not going quite that far. Judge Andrew Napolitano at one point declared that “Osama bin Laden is dead,” but he later seemed unconvinced. Napolitano also questioned the president’s authority to kill him. The other popular conspiracy conention is the Osama was a construct of the CIA as is al Qaida and like he was shiot by a mystery shooter in a grassy knoll.
It is tragically ironic that photographs of alleged abuse in the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq (also known as Baghdad Correctional Facility) when U. S. agents were accused but we will not release Oisama photographs lest it offend someone.
For the seventh year in a row, a survey of chief executives has ranked California as the nation’s worst state in which to do business.
More than 500 U.S. CEOs polled by Greenwich, Conn.-based Chief Executive magazine based their opinions on numerous factors, including regulations, tax policies, work force quality, education resources, quality of living and infrastructure.
While the Golden State came out on the bottom, Texas topped the magazine’s “Best & Worst States” list for the seventh consecutive time.
Texas was followed, in order, by North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.

UN human rights chief Navi Pillay on Thursday called for “a full disclosure of the accurate facts” to determine the legality of the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
“I’m still for a full disclosure of the accurate facts,” Pillay told reporters in Oslo.
“I think it’s not just my office but anybody is entitled to know exactly what happened,” she added.
Pillay’s declarations come a day after US Attorney General Eric Holder told a Senate hearing the raid during which bin Laden was killed “was lawful and consistent with our values.”
“The United Nations condemns terrorism but it also has basic rules of how counter-terrorism activity has to be carried out. It has to be in compliance with international law,” she said.
“For instance, you’re not allowed (…) to commit torture or extra-judicial killings,” she explained.
The White House’s changing story over the attack has raised doubts about US assurances that the US special operations forces sent to bin Laden’s lair in the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad were prepared to take him alive.
“If he had surrendered, I think — attempted to surrender — I think we should, obviously, have accepted that,” Holder told the Senate committee.
Can someone explain why we fund trhe U. N.?
The SEALS destroyed a malfunctioning super-secret stealth helicopter blowing it up in Osama’s compound. Pieces of it were gathered up and will soon be in China.
Last Thursday the White House imposed an information clampdown that followed fitful and botched attempts to craft a riveting narrative about the killing of the al-Qaeda’s leader. The move appeared to contradict CIA Director Leon Panetta’s assertion Tuesday that the photos would eventually be made public, reenforcing stories of a split among the president’s top aides, Within minutes of Osama’s killing stories arose that he had been overulled by military and intelligence figures and pushed into an attack into Pakistan that ended in the assasination of Osama..The White Housse story has changed repeatedly since Sunday’s initial announcement by Obama.
A push for the attack had been going on for weeks and months pitting Leon Pinetta, Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, David Patraeus and Jim Clapper against Obama adviser, and uber-leftist, fellow Chicagoan Valerie Jarrett who is reported to have repeatedly blocked the idea convincing a dithering Obama to repeatedly delay to the point where there was fear Osama could be alerted and flee.
It has been since leaked that Hillary Clinton threatened to release details of Obama’s indecision and ineptness; David Patraeus said he’d order the compound’s bombing using bunker busters and B-2 stealth bombers, and that Leon Penatta OKing the attack on his own authority without Obama’s knowledge in something akin to a staff revolt.. That came to be supported by Clinton and others.
At the eleventh hour Jarrett tried to convince Obama to alert Pakistan but that was kiboshed as a threat to the mission.
I’d like to have been privy to undoubtedly salty comments aboard the “Chuck wagon” USS Carl Vinson CVN70, especially in the Chiefs mess, when they learned there would be a 45-minute Islamic religious service before the burial at sea of Osama’s body.
A U.S. official says Osama bin Laden was shot above his left eye, blowing away part of his skull. The precision kill shot was delivered by a member of Navy’s elite SEAL Team Six -during a pre-dawn raid Monday on bin Laden’s hideout in Pakistan. The first shot missed which I am sure will cause him much grief that only fellow sailors can impose-I expect he already has a new, nastyt nickname
Photos of bin Laden’s injuries were transmitted to Washington as proof that the mission was a success. On Thursday Reuters released bloody photographs of four others also killed in the raid.
According to the Legislative Counsel Bureau, Governor Brown’s plan to take $1.7 billion from redevelopment agencies may not be legal.
This revelation, which came from a memo sent to a Republican Assemblywoman, is another wrinkle in Governor Brown’s plan to eliminate the redevelopment agencies, and use their funding as a way to plug the state’s funding gap.
However, the news must come as a relief to the cities and counties across the state that rely upon redevelopment money as a slush fund, just as it could be upsetting to teachers and schools that were hoping that the end of redevelopment could increase their funding in this and future years.
Given the public’s disaffection with traditional public schools, one might assume the Golden State would be strengthening its charter school laws and adding more schools, but this is anything but the case. In fact, via AB 1172, State Assemblyman and former teacher and union activist Tony Mendoza is trying to restrict charter’s access to funding and force new regulations on them to the point where they could be killed off in a short period of time.
Not surprisingly, the California Teachers Association is a sponsor of AB 1172. In CA, only about 15% of charter schools are unionized and this presents a great problem for the teachers unions. Given the need to unionize every teacher they can, so as to maintain their position as the state’s biggest power broker, charter schools are clearly an obstacle that must be overcome.”
Give teachers th choice to give money to extorters or keep the money for their family, teachers vote not to give money to the extortionist unions.

Incredulously US Attorney General Eric Holder continues to pursue criminal charges against the CIA operatives who participated in the investigation and interrogation that may well have gained the information leading to the raid. On Thursday Obama told a 9-11 Victim he would not give Holder his opinion.
Members of Congress have and do contend that Obama was pushing for the KSM trial in New York City and Holder was pushed out of the driver’s seat.
Obama’s claim he can not and said he will not intercede is a further absurdity. This all leads directly to Obama’s silly idea to close GITMO, Recently there was revelations that Holder quashed prosecutions in Texas of C. A. I. R. (Council on American Islamic Relations)
Holder confirmed that Justice Department headquarters intervened to quash the prosecution of a top official of CAIR - the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The attorney general refused to identify the CAIR official by name, although, at Pajamas Media, Patrick Poole reports that he is Omar Ahmad - who was in attendance at a 1993 meeting of what the FBI described as Hamas leaders, and who later founded CAIR, an Islamist organization designated by prosecutors as an unindicted coconspirator in a Hamas financing scheme
