Jackie Cooper. child star and movie Director has died he was 88-years-old. His mot famous contemporary role was as the newspaper editor in the Christopher Reeve Superman movie.

Life is neither good or evil, but only a place for good and evil. Marcus Aurelius

In a polically correct silliness a native American group has complained to Obama by letter about the Navt SEALS that ibnvaded bin Ladin’s Pakistani compound that they used Geronimo as a codeword for Osama saying it offends them to use the herno Geronimi to describe such a reprehensible figure.

The Onodaga Nation is upset that the United States military used the moniker of the Native American hero as the code name for Osama bin Laden when they.

The Onondaga Nation is an Indian Nation, and a member of the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy, or Haudenosaunee. The Onondaga Nation is the “Firekeeper” or central council fire of the Haudenosaunee. The other nations are the Mohawk, Oneida, Cayuga, Seneca and Tuscarora Nations. The Haudenosaunee is recognized in three treaties made with the United States, and all of its members are federally-recognized Indian nations. The Onondaga Nation continues to maintain its ancient form of government, including a traditionally-selected Council of Chiefs. The Nation’s present territory is south of Syracuse, New York.

The whole thing has little to do with the SEALS or Geronomo but the stunt is apparently related to the Onondaga tribe’s legal action against the State of New York asserting its legal rights to its homelands in Central New York, with the principal goal of achieving legal recognition of title to its homelands. The Onondagas initiated the process several years ago by meeting with Governor George Pataki and members of his staff. The Nation plans to file a law suit in Federal District Court, although a filing date has not yet been set. The Nation does not wish or expect to sue individual land owners.

An editorial in the new bi-annual Journal of Animal Ethics-a joint venture between Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics and the University of Illinois-claims that we should change our animal language to updated, less derogatory terms.

For example, rather than calling animals “pets,” they should instead be called “companion animals.” And “wild animals” should be labeled “free living or free ranging animals.”

Additionally, the editors of JAE believe that the term “owner” should be completely forgotten and thrown away. Instead, they say humans should be regarded as “human carers” for their “companion animals.”

“The word ‘owners’, whilst technically correct in law, harks back to a previous age when animals were regarded as just that: property, machines or things to use without moral constraint,” explained the editors.

Interestingly, a recent study by Milo’s Kitchen, a company that manufactures dog treats, seems to indicate that American families may feel the same.  The study revealed that 81% of Americans consider their dogs to be equal members of the family.

Friction is growing over the probe into the failed “Project Gunrunner” program — run by the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms that intended to stop the flow of guns to criminals in Mexico. Whistleblowers claim the bureau actually encouraged the illegal sale of firearms to known criminals, then allowed those guns to be smuggled to Mexico.

On Tuesday, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) went after Attorney General Eric Holder for refusing to answer questions and subpoenas for documents that implicate who approved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives project that allowed guns purchased illegally in U.S. to be smuggled into Mexico on behalf of the drug cartels with the knowledge and consent of the ATF.

“We’re not looking at straw buyers, Mr. Attorney General, we’re looking at you,” Issa said. “We’re looking at you, we’re looking at your key people who knew or should’ve known about this.”

Holder shot back.

May 3: Attorney General Eric Holder testifies on Capitol Hill in Washington before a House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing.

“The notion that somehow or another that this Justice Department is responsible for those deaths, that assertion is offensive,” Holder said, referring to the death of American Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

“What if it’s accurate, Mr. Attorney General?” Issa responded. “What am I going to tell Agent Terry’s mother about how he died at the hands of a gun that was videotaped as it was being sold to a straw purchaser fully expecting it to end up in the hands of drug cartels?”

Holder responded. “We’ll have to see exactly what happened with regard to the guns that are an issue there.”

Also on Tuesday, in a letter to the attorney general signed by both Issa and Sen.Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), the Congressmen say they are “disappointed that you do not appear to be taking this issue seriously enough”. Grassley, in a handwritten postscript, tells Holder he is being ‘ill-served’ by staff who are not telling him the whole story.

Much of what Obama told Americans on Sunday night including that Osama bin Laden had died in a firefight –the White House now admits he was unarmed so it has been changed.

The White House has revised its version of what happened during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s home in several significant ways since its first briefings.

It says the mistakes and contradictions are simply down to “the fog of war”. A fumbling  Jay Carney, the president’s spokesman, told reporters on Tuesday: More likely it was the desire to fulfill a narrative that the good guys killed the bad guy in a fair gun fight.

Most important the bottomlline that Osama is dead has not changed. Conspiracy theorists will have a field day. Jihadist are already calling Osama’s death “murder” of an unarmed man trying to make him a victim.

More than anything the balluxed up story is a result of a White House in campaign mode with utterly no military experience. Of course comparitively it did much better to the most militarily experiences White House, under Jimmy Carter.

In an unbelieveable affront to all Americans an unidentified trio convicted on terror related charges were all granted U.S. citizenship under the Obama administration, two in 2009 and one in 2010, according to federal auditors.

All potential GOP candidates except Huckabee are seen more unfavorably than favorably by the general public. Overall opinion of Huckabee is mixed.

Republicans are overwhelmingly negative about Obama; but Americans overall are closely divided, giving him better marks on this question than they give nearly all the Republicans the poll asked about.

38% of Americans have a very unfavorable opinion of Obama including almost all Republicans; 24% have a very favorable opinion of Obama including almost all Democrats; blacks and a large number of Hispanics.

This week’s events reminds me of Aristotle who said “‘We make war so that we may live in peace,” from Nichomachean Ethics

Aristotle tells us mankind is a political animal naturally chosing from among anarchy, terranny and  democracy. In the latter we must first accept responsibilityin theformer we can ignreo responsibility and accept the consequence or slavery and oppression.

Whatever example he was pondering it seems at least as relevant now as then as far as near.

A new poll from Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage shows that President Barack Obama’s approval rating received a mild boost from the killing of Osama bin Laden. It also shows that Americans across the political spectrum believe President George W. Bush also deserves credit for the al-Qaida leader’s capture.

And most Americans are far from convinced the war on terrorism is nearing an end: Some 67.6 percent of respondents are concerned about retaliation. They cut across party affiliation, age, gender, and ethnicity

As for Obama’s approval rating, the poll shows it at 47.7 percent, equal to his disapproval rating. That’s an improvement from the days before the attack, when Obama’s disapproval rating exceeded his approval rating by 2 to 6 percentage points.

the poll shows that over 20 percent of Democrats who responded, still either disapproved or somewhat disapproved of Obama’s job performance.

“This presents a real challenge to Obama’s re-election bid,” said Towery. “This is the liberal and anti-hawk segments of his party, who feel that Obama has betrayed them in his policies and his military attack on bin Laden. When 20% of your own party holds this opinion, it presents an erosion of your base support-the very support that got you elected in the first place.”

Computer hackers are disseminating spam, viruses and malicious software designed to ensnare the unwary with bogus videos, photos or other digital data about the killing of Osama bin Laden.

The first instances appeared late Sunday within hours of the breaking news, according to a leading computer security firm. Almost all of it had one goal - to direct Internet users to websites that hijack computers to steal passwords or generate more spam advertising.

“Fake links to files purporting to be video of the killing popped up on Facebook in a number of different languages, including English, Spanish and Portuguese,” said Dennis Fisher, a security expert for Kaspersky Lab.

A state Assembly seat was up for grabs in a heavily Republican Northern California district.

Republican Beth Gaines and Democrat Dennis Campanale are vying Tuesday to fill a seat vacated by Gaines’ husband, Ted, who won a seat in the Senate in January.

Beth Gaines is favored in the 4th Assembly District, which stretches from north of Sacramento to Lake Tahoe. GOP voters account for 45 percent of the district’s voters, compared to 31 percent Democrats and 20 percent decline-to-state voters.

The election could have set up the first runoff between two candidates for the same party under California’s new open-primary law, but seven Republican candidates split the vote. Campanale, a retired firefighter, was the lone Democrat.

Gaines edged out fellow Republican, Roseville City Councilman John Allard, in a runoff election.

Even though Obama has himself no record of personal sacrifice for America Obama’s approval rating has jumped higher, with big increases in the number of Americans giving him high marks on dealing with terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan.

But the new poll, conducted Monday evening by The Washington Post and the Pew Research Center, also finds virtually no movement in Obama’s numbers when it comes to handling the economy. That suggests that success on one front - even one as important as the death of the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks - might not translate easily to other areas.Overall, 56 percent of those polled say they approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president, an increase of nine percentage points over April polls by Post-ABC News and Pew. That is the highest approval rating for the president in either poll since 2009.

There’s also been a clear increase in public satisfaction with the way things are going in the United States, although by a margin of nearly 2-1, Americans are still dissatisfied with the direction of the country.

The president gets big bounces on dealing with Afghanistan, with his approval rating soaring to 60 percent, and on handling the threat of terrorism, where he recorded a career high of 69 percent.

The bounce will likely be short-lived.

Jezebel (JEZ-uh-bel) noun: A shameless, wicked, or immoral woman. Etymology after Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab in the Old Testament, who was defenestrated and killed for not worshiping the right god. Earliest documented use: 1558.

Israel has a history with al Qaeda, although this is not generally acknowledged by its leaders or media (who prefer the term “Global Jihad”). Like Iran and its surrogates, the late Osama bin Laden’s organization declared war on the Jews and has established networks around its borders in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, the Gaza Strip and Egyptian Sinai..

In reporting on his death Monday, May 2, Israeli TV networks claimed incorrectly that Al Qaeda had never attacked Israel when, only in the past year, Al Qaeda cells based in the Gaza Strip carried out many of the armed attacks launched on the Gaza-Israeli border and Jewish civilian locations.
One cell abducted and put to death the Italian pro-Palestinian activist Vittorio Arrigoni on April 14, an “operation” commanded by an al Qaeda operative from Jordan called Abdul Rahman al-Briziti. This atrocity should have pointed attention to the stream of al Qaeda fugitives swelling Palestinian terrorist ranks in Gaza. But it didn’t, although some are coming in from battle arenas in Yemen and Somalia via Sudan; others from Iraq via Jordan and the Sinai Peninsula or as infiltrators from Syria and Lebanon.

Only six months ago, American, Israeli and Egyptian (then ruled by Hosni Mubarak) counter-terror agencies working together carried out a targeted operation against the Army of Islam’s Sinai chief, Jemal Mohammed Namnam and his two confederates, Islam Yassin and Mohammed Yassin. (Egypt has not forsaken that cooperation and sided with Hams.)

Their deaths on Nov. 11 and 17, 2010 averted the large-scale terrorist attacks they were preparing to launch in the Egyptian peninsula and would have entailed strikes against the Americans staffing the international MFO at its headquarters in f El Arish and Sharm El-Sheikh and the abduction of Americans and Israelis for secret confinement in Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip as hostages.

Our counter-terror sources reveal that Al Qaeda’s units are ensconced in the southern, central and northeastern sectors of the Gaza Strip: The southern cluster is based in the northern and southern districts of Khan Younis, a town of 220,000 inhabitants 4 kilometers east of the Mediterranean coast and 1.5 kilometers from the Israeli border.

A second group more or less controls the town of Deir al Balakh, a town of 150,000 in the central region. A third is embedded in the Zaitun and Nuseyrat districts of Gaza City.

counter-terror sources disclose that these Al Qaeda operatives have built themselves at least six fortified villas in those three locations. Like the Abbottabad villa-fortress where Osama bin Laden was killed Sunday night by a team of US Seals, the Gaza villas have top security and dominate the surrounding skylines.
The success of the American, Israeli and Egyptian agencies in foiling a major terrorist attack in Sinai was played down by Washington and Jerusalem, conduct that deserves an explanation in the new anti-al Qaeda climate.

The fact is that the international community has assigned the Palestinian extremist Hamas a key role in the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and is therefore concerned with cleaning up its reputation. Every effort is therefore being made to avoid the embarrassment of fingering Hamas - not only for harboring but also activating al Qaeda’s Gaza’s cells for terrorism against Israel. Hamas is not punished for opening the smuggling tunnels it runs jointly with Iran and al Qaeda to admit them, even though those tunnels are branches of the wide-ranging Hamas-Iran-al Qaeda smuggling web that links Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan and the Arabian Peninsula, including Yemen.

How would Hamas look if it were exposed to the same hard light of day as al Qaeda? Would its sponsors be able to sanitize these Islamists enough to sit them down opposite Israel as legitimate co-rulers of the future Palestine, including the West Bank?

Therefore, in the past year, agents of the US, British, French, Italian, Swiss and Norwegian governments have been working hard to refurbish Hamas and make it look respectable in Western eyes. They therefore choose to believe Gaza’s Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh when he laughed off the suggestion that his organization maintains operational ties with al Qaeda or that any of its jihadis are present in the Strip.

But all their hard work was undone Monday, May 2, when the al Qaeda leader’s sudden death caught the Hamas prime minister off-guard. Blurting out what he really felt, Haniyeh condemned the killing of bin Laden as “the continuation of American oppression and shedding of blood of Muslims and Arabs.”  Although Hamas had its differences with Al Qaeda, his group, he said, condemns the assassination of “a Muslim and holy Arabic warrior” and prays that bin Laden’s “soul rests in peace.”

The Hamas official was the only Muslim leader in the world to bluntly condemn the US for killing the master-terrorist - a telltale betrayal of Hamas’s true nature behind its Western-contrived diplomatic façade.

Hamas leaders confess that they really do regard the United States as the worst and most blood-stained oppressor of Middle East Arabs, aside from Israel.

The Syrian Army has begun to enter neighboring Lebanon as part of efforts to quell the revolt against the regime of President Bashar Assad. Opposition sources said Syrian troops have been seen in northern Lebanon in pursuit of alleged Islamic insurgents. They said the Syrian Army has been deployed on both sides of the border in an effort to stop people from fleeing to Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood issued a rare statement: “You were born free, so don’t let a tyrant enslave you.”

“Syrians escaping oppression in Latakia and Banias are heading to Wadi Khalid considered a no-man’s land in Lebanon,” the opposition Reform Party of Syria said.

The Washington-based RPS did not say how many Syrians fled to northern Lebanon. But the opposition group said Syrian troops already entered the territory of their eastern neighbor in search for anti-Assad activists.

“Unless the Lebanese media heads to the region to cover why the Syrian army is on Lebanese soil, RPS expects a large scale massacre in this remote region,” the opposition group, regarded as authoritative, said.

This was believed to have marked the first Syrian Army incursion into Lebanon since Assad’s troops withdrew from that country in 2005. Damascus retains a huge intelligence presence among the more than 1.2 million Syrian laborers in Lebanon.

The Assad regime has confirmed that the Army was searching border areas for what it called “armed terrorist gangs.” Officials said Syrian troops were hunting for anti-Assad fighters along the borders of Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. They said a Syrian Army outpost near the Jordanian border was captured by unidentified fighters.

“We stress that the number of the Army and police martyrs reached 78, and the number of civilians reached 70 since the eruption of the mercenary violence that targeted the safety of citizens and homeland,” a Syrian military source told the official Sana news agency.

Why is it is OK to kill them but, not water board them?

An unintended consequence of Mubarack’s ousting from Egypt is that Egypt has launched a campaign of threats against Israel after the Arab state’s efforts to achieve a reconciliation accord between Fatah and Hamas. Leading Egyptians have warned Israel not to torpedo the Hamas reconciliation agreement, scheduled for signing in Cairo on May 3. They said Israel must end restrictions on both the Hamas regime in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian Authority.

“The Israeli government must show restraint when it discusses peace talks,” Egyptian Chief of Staff Gen. Sami Annan said. “It must refrain from intervening in internal matters of Palestine.”

The leader of the group that represents al-Qaida ideology in the Gaza Strip warned in an interview today of “big revenge” against the U.S. and Israel for the killing of Osama bin Laden. Speaking from the Gaza Strip, Abu Saqer of Jihadiya Salafiya told WND that al-Qaida groups worldwide “made a connection” to initiate what he called “big revenge.”

Four years ago the identity was determined of the courier who ultimately led to bin Laden. That would place a key moment in the search back in the Bush administration. Officials also said that “about two years ago” U.S. intelligence discovered the areas in Pakistan where he operated. That sounds as if it happened during Obama’s presidency but the timing is vague enough that it could have overlapped with Bush’s. Other key events, such as the discovery of bin Laden’s compound and the decision to attack it, took place during Obama’s presidency.

Ironiocally much of that early intelligense resylted from the CIA secret prisons and from GITMO all of which OBAMA HAS DECRIED.

Two New York jail guards are in trouble after an inmate stepped in to break up their fight over a bag of potato chips. The inmate has a tooth knocked out. Neither guard was injured. The guard were placed on paid leave.

Last weekend Trump was mocked by President Obama and the comedian Seth Meyers at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner - belittled as a political charlatan with an unchecked ego and a dead fox plastered on his head.

”Seth Meyers has no talent,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on Sunday. “He fell totally flat. In fact, I thought Seth’s delivery was so bad that he hurt himself.”

Mr. Trump, who appeared unsmiling throughout most of the annual dinner on Saturday night, acknowledged his occasional discomfort (”I am not looking to laugh along with my enemies”) but said he viewed the rough treatment as a measure of the fear he had struck in the Washington establishment. “It was like a roast of Donald Trump,” he said, clearly reveling in the attention, if not the content.

The Trump-centric dinner capped what could only be described as the Week of the Donald - a dizzying span in which the developer and reality television star drove the news (compelling the president to release his full birth certificate) and became the news (after delivering a profanity-laced speech in Las Vegas).

None of it, however, answered the central questions posed by his White House flirtation: Is it real or, like his hit series on NBC, a reality show? Even a comment Mr. Trump made to Bloomberg News on Sunday - that he had decided to run “in my mind” - created as much confusion as clarity. A top aide, Michael Cohen, said he could still change his mind and nothing was official.

During a lengthy conversation in his 61st-floor suite at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, amid the Trump-branded room service menus and bottles of Trump Ice water, he provided ample fodder for supporters and skeptics - waxing about foreign policy and his TV ratings, displaying a detailed understanding of the political landscape and a curious insensitivity toward potential voters.

At one point, he compared his opposition to the legalization of same-sex marriage to his reluctance to use a new kind of putter.

“It’s like in golf,” he said. “A lot of people - I don’t want this to sound trivial - but a lot of people are switching to these really long putters, very unattractive,” said Mr. Trump, a Republican. “It’s weird. You see these great players with these really long putters, because they can’t sink three-footers anymore. And, I hate it. I am a traditionalist. I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist.”

He said that, should he run, he would offer himself as a “conservative with a big heart.”To that end, he said, he would do nothing to curtail benefits for senior citizens, whom he called the “lifeblood of this country.” But he suggested that his biggest objection to Representative Paul D. Ryan’s deficit reduction plan - which has alarmed seniors on Medicaid - was not its substance but what he saw as poor strategy by Mr. Ryan, a Wisconsin Republican, in rolling it out.

“As a poker player, he shouldn’t have put forth such an early plan,” Mr. Trump said. “Anybody who touches Medicare,” he added, “is in tremendous trouble politically. We, the Republicans, have an election to win.”

Mr. Trump, who faces scrutiny from Republicans over his conservative credentials, said he no longer supported two proposals he put forth in 1999, when he last considered running for president: a one-time tax of 14.25 percent on the wealthiest Americans and a single-payer health care program.

“We had a much different country when I proposed those two things,” he said.

Mr. Trump, spoke knowledgably - and harshly - about Mr. Obama’s health care overhaul and America’s trade policies with China. But at times he betrayed a lack of engagement closer to home, incorrectly stating that only one member of the New York City Council was a Republican. (There are five.)

Mr. Trump, 64, repeatedly found ways to weave the topic of his wealth, and its luxurious reach, into the conversation. “Look at that,” he interrupted, pointing to a giant white plane hovering outside the room’s windows. “That’s my plane. How beautiful is that?”

He also announced that he had just bought a Boeing 757 from Paul G. Allen, one of the founders of Microsoft, and was having it refitted to his specifications. “I was going to buy a 737,” he explained, “then I heard about this one.”

Yet Mr. Trump emphasized that he was ready to walk away from much of his life to mount a bid for the presidency.

Should he run, he said, he would relinquish control of his company to three of his children, Donald, Eric and Ivanka, who have worked with him for years. He said that his wife, Melania, 41 - who appeared briefly, bathrobe-clad, to say hello during the interview - had not only encouraged him to run but vowed to campaign with him. “She would be great,” he said.

Still, there are adjustments to be made. The obscenities in his Vegas speech drew criticism: Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, for example, said on Sunday that such language was not presidential. Mr. Trump said he had catered the speech to the largely working- and middle-class audience.

“It was a great crowd and great people,” he said. “But it was also a crowd that loves that kind of emphasis.

“Would I do it in a different location, would I do it in front of a different crowd, even a different crowd in Las Vegas? Uh, no.”

He said he “rarely” curses. But minutes later, he used a profanity to describe a political consultant who had offended him.

Mr. Trump, an admitted germophobe, conceded he did not relish the idea of shaking thousands of hands on the campaign trail, but said he had become more at ease with the practice.

“I still have a thing” about it, he acknowledged. “Shaking hands is proven to be a bad thing to do for our health.”

He recalled a fan walking out of a restroom at the “21″ Club in Manhattan recently, approaching him with an outstretched hand. “Now, I have two choices,” Mr. Trump explained. “Don’t shake it, and here’s a man that for the rest of his life will hate Donald Trump. But I don’t want that. I have a heart. Or shake it. And you don’t know what you are shaking. And you know what I did?” he asked. I shook his hand. And then, I didn’t eat as well, because I didn’t know where his hand was. But I can tell you it wasn’t in a very good place.”

President Barack Obama’s father was forced to leave Harvard University before completing his Ph.D. in economics because the school was concerned about his personal life and finances, according to newly public immigration records.

Harvard had asked the Immigration and Naturalization Service to delay a request by Barack Hussein Obama Sr. to extend his stay in the U.S., “until they decided what action they could take in order to get rid of him,” immigration official M.F. McKeon wrote in a June 1964 memo.

Islamists are targeting Western Muslim porn stars. This is how far the West has fallen: The porn star versus the Koran. Sila Sahin, a daytime TV soap-opera star, has sparked a public firestorm in Germany. The 25-year-old actress appears topless on the current cover of the German edition of Playboy. By Western standards, Ms. Sahin’s behavior is typical, even tame. She is an amoral celebrity hoping to cash in on her fame by baring it all. Been there, done that. Marilyn Monroe, Drew Barrymore, Daryl Hannah - the list goes on of celebrities who have posed for Playboy

Yet Ms. Sahin is Muslim. Raised in Germany by conservative Turkish parents, she is casting her actions as a form of personal liberation, a brave rebellion against the strict moral standards and repressive sexual norms of her traditional religious upbringing.

“For years I subordinated myself to various societal constraints,” Ms. Sahin said in Britain’s Sun newspaper. “The Playboy photo shoot was a total act of liberation.”

She added: “What I want to say with these photos is, ‘Girls, we don’t have to live according to the rules imposed upon us.’ ”

I am woman, watch me pose. Ms. Sahin is the new darling of European feminism, while she is despised by Germany’s burgeoning Islamic community. It is calling upon the country’s 3 million Muslims to boycott Ms. Sahin. She has been branded a “Western slut” and “whore.” Her father reportedly is ashamed and shocked by her behavior. Her mother is no longer speaking to her. Many Europeans are simply baffled: Why would any self-respecting parent object to their daughter being in Playboy? Isn’t that the goal of every young woman?

Her parents are rightly outraged by her shameless behavior. Ms. Sahin has not been the victim of some extreme fundamentalist upbringing. She was not forced to wear a burqa or denied the right to work or go to school. In fact, by all accounts, her parents supported her career aspirations and desire to be a TV actress. They just don’t want their daughter degrading her body. In other words, they value something most Europeans - and Americans - no longer do: chastity.

Ms. Sahin is a fool - and a shameless libertine. She is peddling the central myth of modern feminism: Women’s empowerment and sexual permissiveness go hand in hand. They do not: Usually licentiousness leads to brief moments of pleasure followed by long periods of loss, unhappiness and associations with those who are equally self-centered and debauched.

The greatest revolutionary of the 20th century was not Vladimir Lenin or Adolf Hitler, but Hugh Hefner. The founder of Playboy launched the sexual revolution of the 1960s. He championed the “Playboy Philosophy”: If it feels good do it. Over the past 40 years, the Playboy Philosophy has triumphed in the West, having replaced traditional Christian values.

Ms. Sahin is its latest victim and a symbol of the West’s decadence. Yet Germans are now waking up to another horror - that many of their fellow Muslims want the actress to be killed.

Islamic Web sites have posted threats. “She must pay,” one said. “She needs to be very careful,” another warned. German TV crews then asked some ordinary Muslims on the street what they thought of Ms. Sahin’s actions. To their shock, some openly espoused the right to honor killing. A kebab shop owner vowed that if she were his daughter, “I would kill her. I really mean that. That doesn’t fit with my culture.”

Honor killings are on the rise in Germany and throughout Europe. For numerous Muslims, public criticism and social ostracism is not enough; only violence can ensure that Shariah law is enforced. The contradiction of multiculturalism is that it seeks to accommodate simultaneously both radical Islam and contemporary liberalism: the crescent and the condom. The problem, however, is that they are locked in a mortal struggle - and only one side will emerge victorious.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Europe’s socialist upper class has argued that Islamic terrorism is essentially the result of American imperialism, especially in the Middle East. The real blowback, however, is not geopolitical - it is cultural. Pornography; drugs; abortion; homosexuality; family breakdown; our narcissistic obsession with celebrity, fame and sex - all of this is triggering profound revulsion across the Muslim world. More than our foreign policy, it is our decadence that inspires such hatred and contempt.

Western freedoms are therefore assaulted regularly by a more self-confident culture than ours: Burning Korans, publishing cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad, and now Muslim actresses posing nude - what we consider freedom of expression, many Muslims view as provocative and blasphemous. Our moral relativism, however, is no match for militant Islam. If this battle of civilizations comes down to a contest between Hugh Hefner and Osama bin Laden, I am putting my money on the latter to win. Only a confident civilization anchored in natural law and its Judeo-Christian roots can prevail over radical Islam. Our permissive porn culture cannot withstand the jihadists.

“I think what she did was either very brave or very stupid,” said a German police officer. “She will be double-locking her door at night for a long time to come.” Sadly, Ms. Sahin eventually may pay the ultimate price: her life. She will learn - tragically - that her fellow feminists, those applauding now, will not be there in her moment of need. In the West, no one is willing to die to defend a porn star. What Mr. Hefner doesn’t teach his proteges is once you bare it all, you already are yesterday’s news.   ‘

Thirty-five-year-old Brett Henderson of St. Paris in western Ohio faces charges of public indecency and obstructing official business. Police tell media outlets he refused to stop running during Sunday morning’s Flying Pig Marathon, so they halted him with a stun gun.

Henderson’s mother Lee said Monday that he had borrowed a pair of running shorts from his father, but they kept slipping down as he ran. She says he kept running without shorts because he was determined to complete the race he had trained for.

in an effort to satisfy federal Title IX legislation many Division I colleges are making questionable moves to make it look as if they are offering more spots on sports teams to women.  Half of Americans support Title IX, but adults strongly oppose the government requiring colleges to match the percentage of women athletes to the number of women on campus.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 50% favor the Title IX legislation which was passed in the early 1970s to ensure more gender equality in college sports. Twenty-eight percent (28%) oppose that legislation which among other things requires colleges and universities to offer equal athletic opportunities for men and women. Twenty-two percent (22%) are not sure about the law.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) believe Title IX has been good for college athletics. Eighteen percent (18%) disagree and believe the legislation has been bad for college sports. Twenty-six percent (26%) say it has had no impact, while 18% are not sure.

But colleges have been struggling to meet the law as the number of students who are women has risen. With women comprising 57% of college students today, just 13% of adults think the federal government should require that each college have an appropriate number of women athletes to ensure that 57% of college athletes overall are women. Most adults (64%) oppose such a requirement, while another 23% are undecided about it.

54% of women favor Title IX, compared to 46% of men.

The same percentage of men and women (38%) think the legislation has been good for college athletics. But men are three times as likely as women - 27% to nine percent (9%) - to believe Title IX has been bad for college athletics.

Men also feel more strongly that schools should not now be required to make sure that 57% of college athletes are women. But the majority of both men and women oppose making colleges hit this target.

African-Americans are more supportive of the Title IX law than whites and those of other races are.

Most Democrats (67%) and a plurality (45%) of adults not affiliated with either major political party favor Title IX. Republicans are almost evenly divided on the issue. Democrats feel much more strongly than the others that the law has been good for college athletics. But majorities of all three groups oppose forcing colleges now to hit the 57% mark for women athletes.

In May of last year following the killing of a University of Virginia female lacrosse player by a member of the male lacrosse team, 78% of Americans said colleges and universities give athletes special preference rather than hold them to the same academic and behavior standards as other students.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of American adults say that every American should receive further education after high school by attending either a college or vocational school. But an overwhelming majority of Americans (81%) continue to believe that people learn more practical skills through life experiences and work after college rather than in college.

National Geographic Channel is replacing its primetime programing with a week’s worth of programing related to Osama bin Laden’s death, starting last Monday night.

Questions are being raised about whether the Pakistani Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence (more commonly known as Inter-Services Intelligence or simply by its initials ISI) knew where Osama Bin Laden was and in fact kept him there. The ISI  is Pakistan’s premier intelligence agency. It is the largest of the three intelligence agencies of Pakistan, the other being the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence (MI).

Obama jumped up and donned his warrior garb even though he has no military experience not even as much as being in a Boy Scout troop. The onlt question is how much of a bump in popularity Obama will get and how long it will last,

Calls are being heard to end the 44,000,000,000 (BILLION) the US is shoveling into Pakistan. If the allegations it protected Osama are true it makes even less sense to givevthem a dime,
