Lovesick Trio Survive 50-days Adrift In South Pacific
Reportedly the TSA is displeased by the online sale of t-shirts emblazoned with the words, “TSA Has Fondled More Balls Than Barney Frank.” Congressman Frank (D) Mass. is openly homosexual
Satellite photos show North Korea preparing to conduct a third underground nuclear weapon test, Japan’s Sankei Shimbun reports.
“It is said that there is a possibility that North Korea might conduct its third nuclear test within the next six-month period,” the report said.
The assessment is based on vehicle movements and equipment changes near the facilities at the underground nuclear test site on Oct. 16 that revealed debris from tunnel excavation was piled in an area 12-meters wide.
By Oct. 27 stones and dirt were spread in an area 3,000 square meters some 150 meters south of the test site and in two other areas 180 meters north of the site, the report said, adding that the tunnels appear to be preparation for laying power lines to the test site.
In what some are seeing as an Obama retrenchment this year’s Thanksgiving declaration genuflects twice to God, which even some of those who lambasted him last year are seizing on as evidence of a shift or perhaps an awakening.
The specter of a powerful American naval force steaming into the Yellow Sea which China has declared sovereign waters (the US rejects China’s claim) escalates the drama of conflict off the Korean Peninsula to a new level of intensity.
Chinese diplomats were in South Korea and calling for high level talks with it as the center piece urging calm and warning against the provocation arising from U. S. - SK joint military exercises in the Yellow Sea.
U. S. warships will join the South Koreans in a long planned exercise that’s sure to keep the waters boiling for five days of war games in the aftermath of North Korea’s artillery barrage on a small South Korean island last Tuesday, and continued “practice” artillery as firing could plainly be heard on Thursday. Clearly China sees a brinksmanship opportunity if it can convince SK to back away embarrassing and already damaged Obama whose recent failed Asian trip has increased doubts there.
South Korea’s defense minister was forced to resign and has been replaced by SK’s former top Army General as the SK’s rules of engagement were being changed to make it easier to respond with force in the event of an attack especially when civilians are endangered. SK will increase the number of troops and heavy weapons on Yeonpyeong Island, where two marines and two civilians died Tuesday in an artillery fusillade from the North.
“North Korea has nothing to lose, while we have everything to lose,” said Kang Won-taek, a professor of politics at Seoul National University. “Lee Myung-bak has no choice but to soften his tone to keep this country peaceful. It is not an appealing choice, but it is the only realistic choice.”
Obama ordered the USS George Washington with 6,000 sailors and airmen and 75 warplanes off the Korean peninsula along with an Aegis class cruiser, two destroyers and an attack submarine lurking nearby noticing North Korea and China not to go too far..
North Korea’s warning of attacks on anyone intruding into what it considers its territorial waters is flaccid when it comes to the U. S. Navy. NK does not pose much - if any — of a threat to the U. S. naval force. North Korea has always objected to the border since the 1953 armistice, and always has disputed it.
The real problem, however, is that the U.S. and South Korea
seem incapable of persuading China to bring enough pressure on North Korea to convince the North to pull back from a strategy of intermittent violence and intimidation. But, then again what’s in it for China if it can enhance its catbird seat while making Obama look more incompetent.
The critical question of at what stage - if ever — the United States would send troops to South Korea’s defense with orders to fire back if North Korean forces fired on South Koreans. Nor have any elements of the 28,500 Americans in uniform here been ordered to join the South Koreans in the Yellow Sea on anything other than training exercises.
In ordering the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island, Kim Jong-Il had two major objectives:
- 1. Demonstrate the weakness and indecisiveness of Obama and the U.S., thus assuring Pyongyang there is no reason to fear retaliation or U.S. guarantees to the RoK, as Pyongyang would be pursuing its ascent and confrontation.
- 2. Coerce Washington into Iran-style direct negotiations with the DPRK as two nuclear powers if only because failing to placate Pyongyang would lead to more military incidents and further political embarrassment for the U.S.
This process is intended to guarantee that the Kim dynasty would not be threatened by the U.S. and its allies even if the DPRK was tottering due to economic crises. The ultimate objective of Kim Jong-Il is to bequeath this strategic posture to his son Kim Jong-Un. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il’s youngest son and heir-apparent Kim Jong-Un has launched a purge of senior party and military officials to replace aged leaders with younger loyalists, a North Korean defectors’ group in Seoul said.
Obama’s pledge to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with South Korea looks more real and the carriier task force signals China its opportunity for its usual ploy of defusing and delaying rather than solving anything - which it is doing. Predictably NK said the deployment brings the Koreas to the brink of war.
The increasingly indecisive Obama knows that but that’s fine with him since it will make him look better without having to do anything substantive but drone on. China will continue to use North Korea to house break Obama by rubbing his nose in it every chance it gets. Friendly countries increasingly see Obama as more albatross than ally
Coincidently China has been coopted Jordan a hitherto leading military ally of the U. S. in the Mideast with a multi-million dollar military assistance program.

“Does your organization support the existence of the land of Israel?” IRS agent Tracy Dornette wrote an organization according to a court filing last week, as part of its consideration of the organizations application for tax exempt status. “Describe your organization’s religious belief system toward the land of Israel.”
The document emerged in the course of a lawsuit filed in August by Z Street, a hawkish group that casts itself as the Zionist answer to the liberal J Street. Z Street claims that a different IRS agent reviewing its application for tax exempt status said the agency is “carefully scrutinizing organizations that are in any way connected with Israel” and that “a special unit” is determining whether its activities “contradict the Administration’s public policies.’”
A 1983 Supreme Court decision ruled the Internal Revenue Service could, without the approval of the United States Congress, revoke the tax exempt status of organizations that are contrary to established public policy.
Bob Jones Universities’ charitable status was revoked when it refused to admit unmarriied blacks or anyone condoning interracial marriage. In 2000 BJU it reversed it spolicy. By 2005 two charitable organizations had been established to provide scholarships to minority students.
The IRS can deny tax exempt status to groups that work against “established public policy,” a precedent established in its denial of a tax exemption to Bob Jones University over racial discrimination issues, and Z Street is suggesting that the IRS has begun applying some such policy to pro-Israel groups. The State Department has complained of tax exempt contributions to groups that fund weapons and equipment for West Bank settlers, which Z Street co-founder Lori Lowenthal Marcus said Z Street has never done.
Several experts on non-profit tax law said the questions to the organization were unusual, at best, though they were also skeptical of the claim that the IRS is specifically targeting pro-Israel groups.
A California tax lawyer, said he thought the question was probably the work of a misguided agent.
Z Street maintains, however, that the questions are more evidence of a broader policy targeting pro-Israel groups. The organization claims that the agency is “improperly considering the political viewpoint of applicants” and engaging in “clear viewpoint discrimination.”
On its website Z Street, describes itself as “a hawkish pro-Israel group that consciously bills itself as an alternative to the leftist J Street.”

Two hundred and fifty thousand sensitive documents were made public Sunday by an “organization” called WikiLeaks that has had diplomats scampering around over the Thanksgiving holiday warning allies that the disclosures could embarrass them and their countries and even compromise important relationships. WikiLeaks says it has been under cyber attack but it can not be stopped from disgourging the damaging hitherto confidential information.
Sunday’s document release includes, among other things:
- the king of Saudi Arabia - urging the US to attack Iran and end its nuclear weapons program;
- the dangers of Pakistani nuclear material that could be used to fashion an atomic weapon;
- the widespread use of hacking by the Chinese government;
- the level of corruption within the Western-backed Afghan government
- US officials have been instructed to spy on the UN’s leadership;
- Devastating criticism of the UK’s military operations in Afghanistan, and
- Claims of inappropriate behavior by a member of the British royal family.
- Classified “human intelligence directives” issued in the name of Hillary Clinton or her predecessor, Condoleeza Rice, instructing officials to gather information on military installations, weapons markings, vehicle details of political leaders as well as iris scans, fingerprints and DNA.
The material includes a reference to Russia’s Vladimir Putin as an “alpha-dog” (leader of the pack), Afghanistan’s Hamid Karzai as being “driven by paranoia” and Germany’s Angela Merkel allegedly “avoids risk and is rarely creative”. There is also a comparison between Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Adolf Hitler.
More than 3 million US government personnel and soldiers, many extremely junior, are cleared to have potential access to this material, even though the cables contain the identities of foreign informants, often sensitive contacts in dictatorial regimes. Some are marked “protect” or “strictly protect”.
Last spring, 22-year-old intelligence analyst Bradley Manning was charged with leaking many of these cables, along with a gun-camera video of an Apache helicopter crew mistakenly killing two Reuters news agency employees in Baghdad in 2007, which was subsequently posted by WikiLeaks. Manning is facing a court martial.
WikiLeaks describes itself as an international organization that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous sources and leaks. It claims it was founded in 1991. Its website, launched in 2006, is run by The Sunshine Press.
The organization has described itself as having been founded by Chinese dissidents, as well as journalists, mathematicians, and start-up company technologists from the U.S., Taiwan, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. The creators of WikiLeaks have not been formally identified.
Apparently, at least in major part, WikiLeaks got access to millions of “cables” and classified information by hacking into SIPRNet.
The Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) is “a system of interconnected computer networks used by the United States Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of State to transmit classified information (up to and including information classified SECRET) by packet switching over the TCP/IP protocols in a “completely secure’ environment”. It also provides services such as hypertext document access and electronic mail. As such, SIPRNet is the DoD’s classified version of the civilian Internet.
In September 1991, the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) was ordered to consolidate of all service agency transmission infrastructures into two worldwide IP router networks, one for the sensitive but unclassified (N) environment, NIPRNET, and one for the secret (S) environment, SIPRNET.” “NIPRNET (Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network) is used to exchange unclassified but sensitive information between ‘internal DoD’ user as well as providing user’s access to the Internet.” Both networks have been compromised.
In September 2008, during the 2008 United States presidential election campaigns, the contents of a Yahoo account belonging to Sarah Palin was hacked by the son of a Democrat politician in Tennessee and released on Wikileaks.
Since May 2009, WikiLeaks has made available reports of several meetings of the Bilderberg Group a secret invitation only group of 130 individuals sometimes suspected of having one world government ambition and intention/
WikiLeaks has made available an internal document[156] from Kaupthing Bank from just prior to the collapse of Iceland’s banking sector, which led to the 2008-2009 Icelandic financial crisis. The document shows that suspiciously large sums of money were loaned to various owners of the bank, and large debts written off. The Icelandic situation is often described as a precursor to a near banking collapse requiring the Bush era TARP bailouts.
A particular concern of the new leaks is that the documents will reveal the U.S. assisted Iraqi separatist Kurdish rebels fighting Turkey. That aid is an open secret but made public it will farther strain already thin U. S. - Turkish relations and could adversely impact the proposed already shaky ABM deployment plan which Turkey is already wiggling around about.

In addition to the $700,000 HHS has paid Andy Griffith for his Obamacare / Medicare ads it is spending millions on TV ads aimed at seniors touting benefits to them under Obamacare. The ads are being slammed as deceptive and disingenuous and far too costly. The always liberal Griffith’s popularity has plummeted 25% because of the ads.
Obama has a tough row to hoe to convince the 53 million on Social security first having to explain why their benefits have been frozen while federal workers continue to get COLA and other increases.
46-year-old Oakland born Harris is San Francisco DA first elected in 2003 and reelected in 2007. She is the daughter of a Tamil Indian mother, and a Jamaican American father She grew up in a household that blended the traditions of each of her cultures, attending Hindu and Baptist ceremonies. Harris attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., and received a Juris Doctor (JD) from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989.
A prime example of her personal, political and legal philosophy is her opposition to the death penalty. She was tested in April 2004, when SFPD Officer Isaac Espinoza was murdered in the Bayview district. Harris announced that she would not seek the death penalty for the man accused of his killing. The decision sparked protests from the San Francisco Police Officers Association, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, and others.
Her election “completes” California’s entrenchment on the left as it continues to hemorage business and jobs.
Shamus (SHAH-muhs, SHAY-) noun: 1. A private detective. 2. A police officer. Etymology: Perhaps from Yiddish shames/shammes (sexton, a caretaker at a synagogue), from Hebrew shamash (servant). The spelling of the word has altered from the influence of the Celtic name Seamus (equivalent to James) as many police officers in the US at the time, especially in New York, were Irish. First recorded use: 1925.
The California Secretary of State’s office Tuesday authorized a signature drive to place an Arizona-style immigration law before California voters.
Called the “Support Federal Immigration Law Act,” the proposal was submitted to state authorities in September by Michael Erickson, a Tea Party activist in in the Bay Area city of Belmont and former chair of the Sonoma County Republican Party.
Erickson, speaking at a videotaped rally on his initiative’s website, said he worked with a legal team to draft a version of Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070, which requires that police investigate a person’s legal status if an office has reasonable suspicion of that status.
“Since we’re never going to get something like this passed through the Democrat-controlled Legislature, it’s going to be we the people who are going to make it happen,” Erickson said at the rally.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of Immigration Statistics (DHS), an estimated 2,600,000 illegal immigrants resided in California in 2009, compared to 1.5 million in 1990 and 2.5 million in 2000. This number represents about 25 percent of the entire estimated illegal immigrant population in the United States (10.8 million in 2009). Some say the numbers in California have declined due to the State’s rotten economy.
The U. S. has spent $70,000,000,000 (billion) - more than the cost to put a man on the moon — on wind, solar and other forms of alternative energy in the last 30-years and it still provides a miniscule TWO PERCENT (2%) of our nation’s electricity.
Lameduck California Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, a Republican defended undocumented college students last week, arguing that their parents are working and paying taxes and that Congress should approve a path for them to seek legal status.
“Congress needs to get off its rear and do it now,” Maldonado said of long simmering immigration reform proposals that include the possibility of legalization for workers as well as stricter workplace enforcement rules.
Maldonado (R) Santa Maria is co-author of Assembly Bill 540, which allows students who are admitted to state universities based on their academic performance to pay in-state tuition if they had attended a state high school for at least three years.
AB 540 students who are undocumented are barred from federal or state financial aid. Some legislators are trying to get a law approved to let such students apply for private money managed by universities, an effort Maldonado said he supports.
California’s university systems report data showing that the numbers of AB 540 are comparatively small, about one percent or less of the student population.
California State University documents estimate that about 20,000 to 40,000 undocumented students graduate each year from California high schools, out of about 65,000 nationwide.
Overall, Maldonado said, since the passage of AB 540 in 2001 more than 5,000 undocumented students have benefited.
Maldonado’s position puts him at odd with most Republicans and plays into the hands of the Obama-Reid-Pelosi troika who appear determined at push the so-called DREAM ACT through Congress in the lameduck session. Many think Obama will make it an Executive Order setting up a long agonizing Supreme Court battle, and Maldonado will be right in its center.

The new Republican House majority will have a series of hearings on the issue of “anchor babies,” and the resulting decision is predicted by a law professor to reveal how the 112th Congress will make a “180-degree turn on immigration.”
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, chairman of the House Subcommittee on Immigration, told World News Daily the issue over the newborn children of illegal aliens who come into the United States - and whether they then can bring in their extended family legally through the citizenship acquired by the newborn - will be discussed in the hearings.
“This is a preview of how the next Congress will be making a 180-degree turn on immigration policy,” says a notable legal scholar.
“We need to set up a committee schedule, listen to testimony, and gather other data to craft well-informed legislation. There’s been a lot of scholarship on this problem that needs to be entered into the public record and acted on.
“This is something that will be a priority for the new Congress, something we need to position ourselves and move on quickly,” he said.
The hearing schedule won’t be set until the GOP takes the reins of the House on Jan. 3, said King.
But instead of the so-called DREAM Act that would create new paths to citizenship, legal status in the United States and other options for those who broke the law to enter the nation, the plan is for a bill that would ban anchor babies, he said. U.S. Sen. Harry Reid and outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi say as part of their Democrat agenda they still are committed to the DREAM act.
But the new proposal will be developed as the testimony reveals the facts about the situation, King said.
King said the preliminary information that he has seen reveals the problem of anchor babies could be costing the U.S. taxpayers “hundreds of millions of dollars per year” in medical costs alone for hospitals in border states like Arizona.
“There are a several estimates as to the number of anchor babies born to illegal alien mothers in the U.S. each year,” King said. “One estimate holds that the number is 750,000. That means two of 12 or one of six of all babies born in the U.S. are born to illegal alien mothers.”
There are extensive “coyote” networks shepherding these women into the country, often working with Mexican or Chinese mafiosi to do so. The cost to bring the pregnant women to the U.S. is somewhere between $5,000 and $15,000, said King. The cost for Chinese mothers is “on the higher end,” he added.
“Illegal immigration is out of control,” said King. “There is a whole illegal industry pushing this.”
Those costs of the underground business do not, however, even compare to the expense of having the women give birth at American hospitals, where it typically costs around $30,000 to deliver the child, King said. King said he knows of a story of a pregnant woman from Mexico who bore five kids and whose hospital bill ran up over $100,000, all left to the tab of the U.S. taxpayer.
King said it would not be unconstitutional to ban the children from instant citizenship, as the intent of the 14th Amendment was to allow ex-slaves and their children to be American citizens, with all the privileges and immunities of U.S. citizens.
“It was never intended to apply to immigrants,” said King, noting that, over the years, this is exactly how the courts and bureaucrats have applied the provision.
Of course liberal lawyers objected to King’s premise.
“As an immigration attorney, I am passionate about clarifying the vast amount of misinformation being disseminated regarding anchor babies,” a leftist attorney said. “The fact is that having a U.S. citizen child does not provide any immigration to undocumented parents.”
Others had more nuanced objections.
“This is only an issue if the parents are not working and paying taxes,” Cooper said. “The anchor baby argument covers the real issue - which a U.S. citizen child can remain, go to public school, get WIC [Women, Infants and Children welfare] support, etc.”
Another attorney, a professor of constitutional law at the University of Denver College of Law, Robert Hardaway, agreed with that assessment. But he concurs with King as to the history of the 14th Amendment.
An essay provided by Hardaway’s publicist indicated his research shows that in 1866, Sen. Lyman Trumbull and Sen. Jacob Howard specifically wanted to exclude the children of foreigners from acquiring citizenship upon birth in the U.S. when they debated the 14th Amendment.
To be sure, though, Cooper said, look for a dramatic change on immigration issues from the forthcoming Congress.

“Tel Aviv will be a front line in the next conflict,” Israel’s intelligence chief predicts.
Syria and Hizballah now possess thousands of surface-to-surface missiles from Iran with enhanced ranges of up to 300 kilometers and they are being outfitted by Iranian engineers with guidance systems. The new guided Fateh-110, M-600 and Scud D missiles hardware can pinpoint any part of Israel within a 10-meter radius (33 feet) in defiance of Israel’s aerial and anti-missile capabilities, say Israeli and Western missile experts. Hizballah and Syria have been furnished by Iran with the means for fighting a new, far more comprehensive war.
Israel has delayed its Iron Dome missile defense system until war braaks out lest it enemies test it. Find weaknesses and then attack by exploiting them.
All of Syria’s missiles have been converted into guided missiles, and so have the 1,000 Scud Ds kept in Syrian bases near the Lebanese border ready to push across to Hizballah in a military confrontation with Israel, which Hassan Nasrallah said ten days ago he would welcome. Their warheads are in the one ton range.
During the three-week war of 2006, Hizballah launched 500 rockets a day - relying on sheer, terrifying numbers against populated areas, mostly in the North - to bring Israeli armed forces low.
A dozen a day of the guided, long-range weapons would do far more damage, say military sources. Iran’s allies would likely go for Greater Tel Aviv in order to sow demoralization in the most densely populated part of Israel and devastate its industrial and financial centers.
Earlier this month, Israel’s Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi, said it was possible that in the next war, large segments of the population would have to be evacuated from their homes.
Former head of the Israel Mission Defense Organization Uzi Rubin said recently: “The enemy has achieved aerial supremacy without even having aircraft.” Iran’s fully-guided Fateh-110 rocket would enable Hizballah and Syria to strike critical Israeli facilities with dozens rather than hundreds of rockets, he said.
Hizballah and Syria have 1,500 warheads that could strike the Tel Aviv area. “This is a revolution,” said the missile expert.
Military sources note that Rubin did not mention Israel’s missile and rocket defense systems, the Arrow, Iron Dome and David’s Sling, as able to thwart the new Syrian and Hizballah guided weapons - for good reason. Those systems are not up to intercepting heavy hails of thousands of incoming missiles. Even if only scores reached their targets, the damage would be tremendous.
As for aerial strikes against launching sites, Hizballah has dismantled its missile bases and scattered the warheads widely.
Obama’s indecisiveness toward North Korea has emboldened Israeli’s enemies making a middle East conflict all the more likely.

Two 15 and one 14 year-old boys from tiny Tokelau - a nation of just 1200 people scattered across three remote atolls in the South Pacific were rescued after surviving 50 days adrift.
Emboldened by booze the lovesick trio decided to take a midnight cruise to a nearby island in search of a fetching girl they saw at a soccer game. The dingy’s motor gave out setting them adrift in a current that carried them over 800 miles before being spotted by a fishing boat.
Provisioned with a few coconuts, rainwater caught in a tarp and by trapping and eating a seagull the three were weak but hopefully wiser.
