Huckabee Ridicules Pelosi and Thomas… Or Did He?

“The only thing worse than a torrid affair with sweet, sweet Nancy would be a torrid affair with Helen Thomas. If those were my only options I’d probably be for same-sex marriage.”

Wow! Those were some mighty insulting words Mr. Huckabee, albeit profound and insightful. All one would have to do is read any of the liberal rag-mags or listen to their rhetoric to understand gay and gay friendly Americans don’t have much tolerance or sense of humor about topics of this nature. But make no mistake about it, if the shoe were on the other foot and someone were to denigrate Bush, the conservative right, or religious activists, they’d be falling out of their chairs and rolling on the floor in laughter. Still, with all that being said, one would have to admit one thing. What man in his right mind would want to wake up next to this?

Now that’s down right scary. The only thing I can possibly imagine being any scarier than that would be this …

So, I don’t know if it was a slam on politics or a poor joke regarding our overly sensitive gay community, but there’s one thing I know for sure — get over it folks and focus on the more important issues that face our nation. There has been more tasteless words spewed on both sides of the political arena than there are coolies in Hong Kong, and it’s those who spend time wrangling over silliness like this that add to the problem. It’s time to be part of the solution people, not the problem.
