You don't know me, don't pretend to. You don't know if I'm gay, straight, or the most outlandish pervert on the planet. You can't tell my religious beliefs by what I say and that's the way I intend it. Don't be hypocritical, hubristic, or presumptuous. Listen to what I say only for the merit of my opinion, for what I say is based on intellect, education and empirical evaluation. It's an opinion, something that's entitled to all.

Wake Up America!

Obama is setting the stage for a big push on his green agenda, the climate change and energy bill that has sat listlessly in Congress since his inception. His hope? Get it done before he loses Democratic control of the House and Senate in November.

Today he threw a bone to Republicans and environmentalists alike in a plan that offers concessions to both. Opening up the Atlantic seaboard, and Virginia’s shorelines in particular, the President rejected a long-standing ban on offshore drilling in the area. At the same time he renounced new drilling sites which had already been planned in Alaska. What he gave overall was minuscule in comparison to what the previous Administration had done. Insignificant and nothing but pander in an attempt to push another agenda ¾ Cap and Trade.

I’m going to take a stab at something. Within the week Obama will come out and push further carbon dioxide emission controls. Before summer he will ramp up his rhetoric on the importance of Cap and Trade, and by fall we will be involved in another robust and controversial debate about what the government is about to push down our throats once again.

He has to, he’ll lose full control in the mid-terms. Obama will go along the same path Clinton did. As long as he has full control of Congress he will push his ultra-liberal, ultra-progressive agenda. But when they lose control, the Democrats that is, Obama will pull back and try to appease the moderates and some of the conservatives. He’ll move closer to the middle. Once again, he has to. He has alienated most Americans with his healthcare bill. Especially by ramming it through against the people’s wishes.

Why does he have to do this? Because he is the consummate politician and he wants to get reelected in 2012. Sure, he forced some congressmen to vacate their seats, but what the hell, they’re taken care of anyway. Right? They get a lifetime of free healthcare and immense retirement, or the Administration will ensure them a job somewhere else. Do you think that wasn’t part of the behind-closed-doors wrangling and arm twisting the Democratic Party went through? Do you think for a moment that Obama didn’t tell some of the Democrats, those with their seats already tenuously on the line, that he would take care of them if they would only fall in line and go along with the Party?

One of the things I’m most concerned about however, is America’s short term memory. As fed up as everyone was with the arguing and lies throughout the healthcare debate, tired of all the animosity that flowed through our country unrestrained, will it escape their minds by November as to what really happened? How the aristocrats pushed their agenda upon us regardless of our wishes? How we, the American people, were treated as dolts, unable to think or manage our own lives? We were looked upon by the plutocrats as someone who needs to be ruled, viewed us as nothing but serfs that need to be told what to do. I certainly hope we do not forget. If so, America deserves every bit of the onerously tyrannical governing that is sure to follow. To be led as sheep to slaughter for the sole reason we will not stand up and fight, we’ll deserve every bit of our plight.

  1. You probably meant no ethnic insult by the photo you used for your post here, proletariat, but I have a little uneasiness with it. We are still not far enough removed from this historical event for the suggestion that Jews were stupid, passive participants in their own annihilation to be taken lightly. I realize your blog is about something else, but the subject of the photo is very well understood by the public. I’d feel a lot better about reading on if you were to choose another graphic.

  2. I’m sorry, I meant to type “proletarian.” I also realize now that this post is from over one month ago, so perhaps my response is too late coming.
