Richard Cochrane is trained in chemistry and metallurgy but is far more interested and practiced as a political and fund raising consultant, writer and amateur historian. He grew up in a Navy family and with his two younger brothers carried on its 500+ year tradition of naval service to Great Britain and the USA then enjoyed a career with one of the largest advertising and public relations agencies working with numerous Fortune 500 companies and many of America's premier educational institutions. Obama Job Approval Rating After One Year

obama_approval_index_january_10_2010Only 25% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.

Overall, just 45% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove.

As the chart shows the long annual trend for 2009 until now has been and continues to be down.

Forty-five percent (45%) say a group randomly selected from the phone book would do a better job than the current Congress.
