Joe Lieberman: Call Fort Hood Incident What It Was — Terrorism

Email This Post Email This Post - Print This Post Print This Post -

liebermanJoe Lieberman has given the far-Left even more reason to hate him.

The former vice-presidential nominee, who ran with Al Gore, has unequivocally labeled the Fort Hood, Texas killing spree as the work of a “self radicalized home-grown terrorist.”

Lieberman is not mincing words like the news media and administration members did following the massacre.

Tortured language to avoid the obvious seemed to be the preferred script for the media and administration officials.

President Obama and the Democrats appear to be unwilling to acknowledge that terrorism remains a threat. Meanwhile many in the media continue to tiptoe around saying Nadal Malik Hasan’s name aloud and reporting on his Muslim background.

Janet Napolitano, the ever waffling head of Homeland Security, expressed concern about a backlash against Muslims.

But in light of the revelation that Hasan managed to be promoted to the rank of major in the Army, the following facts need to be confronted:

  • Prior to the shooting, Hasan said goodbye to friends and gave away the majority of his possessions, which included copies of the Quran.
  • Hasan reportedly expressed happiness at the death of a U.S. soldier killed in an attack at a military recruitment center by an American convert to Islam.
  • Hasan reportedly yelled out the Arabic phrase “Allah hu akhbar” just before he shot down 13 people and wounded 30 others.
  • Hasan is believed to be the author of Internet posts that praise similar kinds of attacks.
  • Classmates in a master’s program at a military college had complained to superiors about Hasan for his anti-American views including a presentation he gave that justified suicide bombing. The same classmates were told by Hasan that Islamic law trumped the U.S. Constitution.
  • Hasan attended a mosque at the same time (2001) and under the same radical imam, and heard the same extremist teaching as two of the 9/11 hijackers.

As Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee chairman, Sen. Lieberman plans a thorough investigation. He speaks with remarkable clarity.

“If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have zero tolerance,” Lieberman told Fox News. “He should have been gone.”
