300px-twickerspremfinal08No, no were are not talking about rug rats who reached the age of 100 nor are we talking about others “who rug”, like kids who wrestle on the floor, lovers or wanabees who also so cavort occasionally on the floor, nor even those professional carpet layers who make all this fun possible such as my dearly departed father who indeed readied many a playground for various of pursuits.

Also, not about the journal Lancelot report that many babies born this century will live to the age of 100. Wonder if that is with or without a public option? I think without.

Regardless of the above tangential silliness about level playing fields, we are talking today about “ruggers” which is rather an affectionate name for rugby football. We salute it today, the 100th anniversary of the opening and the first game played at London’s Twickenham Stadium (affectionately known as Twickers), the home of the Rugby Football Union.

Not to be forgotten is an important and upcoming venue and team. Glendale, Colorado, USA is home of the Raptors and is becoming an international destination in the US for championships Rugby Football, and is called Infinity Stadium. Check out the various teams and their schecules.
