Conclusion essentially proven by the rest of the story….

This is an interesting excerpt from an article by Melissa Harris-Lacewell. It’s beginning and end is essentially proven by the innuendo in the middle.
Racism is not the the sole domain of Republicans, Conservatives or Southerners. Not all racists pepper their conversation with the N-word or secretly desire the extermination of black and brown people. Racism is complex, multi-layered, and deeply rooted in the American story. Name calling is not helpful in uprooting racism, but neither is a false sense of moral superiority.
Remember Skippy Gates said “We are all recovering racists.”
Un-confuse me, whose false sense of moral superiority is being referred to by Melissa?

We humans are tribal. We are most comfortable among those we know and who act like us; wear same color shirts, and have the same references. Discomfort quickly sets in with each step away from out own family, village, church, mosque, temple, school, etc.
Racism is the political name for tribalism. Today there are those who liberally sprinkle it with hypocrisy in a sanctimonious effort to gain political or personal advantage - claiming racism at any provocation.
Remember it is always the other tribes that causes our tribes problems.
