Gov’t Investigates Health Insurance Company Mailer

What Peoples Authority is being used to squash political opinion?

The government is “investigating” Humana, a major insurance company, for a mailer it sent to seniors that allegedly tries to scare seniors about Obama’s health care overhaul currently staggering through Congress.

The Health and Human Services Department objects to a mailer that Humana recently sent Medicare recipients.

It is unclear exactly what “policing” powers or investigative authority HHS has over a private business or citizens.

It warned that “millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many … important benefits and services.” The bills in Congress would cut payments to private insurance plans that serve about one-fourth of seniors. Government experts say those plans are overpaid, and lawmakers insist it won’t affect benefits.

According to Associated Press HHS ordered Humana to stop all such mailings and says it may take further action based on its investigation. There was no immediate comment from Humana.

The HHS website says, rather incongruously the following about its symbol – shown above

“The symbol represents the American People sheltered in the wing of the American Eagle, suggesting the Department’s concern and responsibility for the welfare of the people.

This symbol is the visual link which connects the graphic communications of all components and programs of the Department. It is the major design component for the Department Identifiers - the Department Logo, Seal, and Signatures.

The symbol can never be altered and must always be positioned with the eagle facing left.

    I hate to say it, but it does sound like Obama cabinets (perhaps czars and regulators too, I hope not) are now operatives of the political branch of the Obama administrations, making Karl Rove look like a piker.

    Seriously, what non political us of the “Peoples Authority” is the HHS and even the congress via the Waxman Political Chronicles are being abused here?

    On a lighter note for all the conspiracy theorists out there, how did the left slip in a left looking Eagle so early into our nations history? On the other hand, the right may say, from the Real Eagles point of view, it is definitely looking to the right :)
