I’m not a birther, a deather, a racist, a Republican, NRA member, nor a nut, nor of mob mentality etc

*Some  are. But I am not. I am not alone.

Politically, the knee jerk left is unnecessarily blowing a great opportunity, perhaps as badly as George Bush did with domestic unity and international support after 9/11.

And it is not the fault of any of the opposition, no matter what ugly names you call them; even when the ugly name fits, as it has so much and for so long for some on your checkered side. You are angering more of the politically non aligned than your current arrogance will allow you to even fathom.

Wake up and smell the fire you are flaming.

Yeah, yeah, I know, sounds like I am inciting violence.

Come on, make up a really good moniker about me that John “Walter” Stewart can put to good effect misinforming young liberals who are learning the Democratic Jerk, a modern version of the Faux Trot and how to glancing disdainfully at me, just another nut who is disrupting society.

You a*******s.
There I did it, all you need. Have your way with me, no worries about slander, after all, you won. Makes me a hater or something un-American. Mumble, mumble,

Despite that, Mr President, you are not telling the truth, a truth I am pretty sure you know. More on that later.

  1. Methinks the thou doth protest too much. And no, I’m not calling you any of those until you prove yourself to be one. However I find it disingenuous that you state that you are not these things, yet you not only do not denounce those that should be denounced (I have no problem with NRA members in general) but you also blame the name calling on the left, and not on the birthers, deathers, and rioters themselves who are purportedly causing you to be painted by the same brush. I think maybe you should look at yourself and your words a little closer before you try to claim that you are not politically aligned. At the very least, please tell me who is calling you these things? Why do you think they are talking to you if you are not politically aligned? Most people that I have debated with over the last 10 years that have made the arguments you are making, using many of the same words fall into one of three categories: 1. The true conservative. (A dying breed, and I have a lot of respect for them. If they do lie, it is because they believe the lie. They actually have some valid intellectual points.) 2. The ‘unique’ person. They have a few opinions different from their ideological brethren, but their spin is unmistakable. 3. The ‘libertarian’, or as I like to call them, the closet republican. They are pretty much the same as #2, but they call themselves libertarian because even though they believe 90% of the Right Wing’s horse manure, they won’t admit it in public. I’m not sure where you fall at this point.

  2. poltergeist: So Youthinks I “protest too much”….because you have me categorized so well? Or perhaps just because you have gotten comfortable with denigrations such as my being “fairly incoherent” as you have charged elsewhere, or my disingenuous behavior, as you so freely infer, backed only by your suspicions.

No doubt in your pursuit of civil public discourse, you have also formulated this sort of categorization on, perhaps those whose “ideas” you think I am never aligned with.

Before I further expose my senselessness or my unreasearchedness any further(ye gad, can’t you join me instead of castigating me while having some fun with words instead of your more proper hurling of perfect monikers? Very common on the web you know, useful when it communicates it’s intent, and still legal), perhaps you can give me your categorization of those to or about whom you hurl no insults?

  3. As the saying goes: “I call ‘em like I see ‘em.” When I thought you were ‘fairly incoherent’ I said so, and would have said so no matter what the topic of discussion. I told you exactly why I thought you were being disingenuous, and you did not present any new information to make me think differently.

It is looking more and more like you have some kind of persecution complex. I’m not hurling insults, I’m making observations. If you truly think my observations are incorrect, then tell me why they’re incorrect instead of playing the victim.

  4. Thanks polcat, sincerely. I have just been trying to see what ground rules are ok with you out of my fear of saying something even more inadequately than I have already been accused of repeatedly, all the while trying not to “offend”. Seems you have no such concern where I thought you might. No harm, no fowl.

So in the pursuit of creating useful and civil political discourse, may I assume that I too be allowed to “call ‘em like I see ‘em”?

And may I do so without being called, directly or by inference or obvious suspicion, a racist, liar,or another such heinous label? As you do so well.

Even when I say to you, as I am preparing to do, so consider it said, that I believe you to be a knee jerk talking point liberal and Democrat. (not heinous, just human, yeah, you) who has perfected the one sided “shouting down” technique of race baiting whenever a white man is engaged with a black man?

For you see, you seem to be instantly adept at identifying, while denying for some reason, that you see a difference in blacks, whites, liberals, conservatives et al. Yeah, you are a selective denier.

I believe you self segregate in your your personal life and your business life. You may prefer blacks over whites, intelligent people over incoherent people (damn there goes my shot) and per your words claim not to be a racist. I sincerely hope you are not a racist just as I know I am not, even though I employ legal and useful identifying terms relevant to a conversation.

I must repeat, the police employ physical characteristics, even the non racists ones, just as the government does (there are racists in the government too, some are Dems) and just as I do. Most have made honest mistakes, as some colors are not always perfectly distinct, compounded by distances, light, any number of natural elements can interfere and some people actually lie to the government.

Wish Professor Skippy were my friend, but frankly I do no think he would return my friendship. And that is his right. And discriminating against me does not make him a racist. Even if I were in a Protected Class :)

His practice of race baiting does make him a heinous racist.

My fear for you is that you walk the race baiting line a little too close, relying on techniques and protections that would make Martin Luther King puke, if he meant, as I believe, the goal of practical equality, not the color of skin, but the content of character.

Many humans race bait in the eyes of someone else occasionally for it is not a perfectly defined term. But I distinguish between occasional, unintentional race baiting and the cold, calculated, studied, political and some times pecuniary practice of race baiting. Both heinous and of putrid politics.

I agree with Eric Holder, we are not able to have a discussion of race in this country. It does seem that we can not have a useful conversation about race, one that takes the heat and waste out of the current non discussion. And he contributes to that.

Maybe I am, as you have already said (because you are ignorant of other articles I have written) just feeling persecuted because I am a poor old white guy, but when he made that remark, I do think he was leaning pretty heavy on me, not you nor Professor Skippy.

Let me end this and reengage later, hoping I have not offended or talked over you or otherwise done something to send you into friendlier territory, with this bit of wisdom I heard I heard from the Professors mouth:

“We are all recovering racists”. Except you? I doubt it partly because I feel your racism against me, simply because I am a white who does not think my ancestors invented all the evils in the world, even though some of them practiced some of them, and because I KNOW I do not “practice” any. Occasional, no doubt I have had unintended gaffes (two so far in my opinions) perhaps like President Obama.

When he said AARP is on board with his health bill (meaning the HR3200IH), did he say that because the management of that non neutral, Dem Talking Point non profit is in Obama’s Pocket?

And when management had to swallow their political pride and announce they had not YET signed on, did that make Obama a liar?
