REVOLUTION, SOON TO BE A REALITY

Intelligence seems to have no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of our fate. For Obama’s agenda, a hard-beaten parade of broken promises, appears to leave even the thinking nowhere to turn. When the stupid rule the many, when we see plans and decisions passed that even unlettered children would condemn, where is there to hide? What is one to do? Is it better to be dumb than to have our own wits continually outraged by the stupidities of government?
With Obama’s agenda, personal ability seems to be a wasted commodity. We see the unable rise while the able are neglected and unemployed. The masses go on the dole while the few pay the bills. Where will this lead us in the future? What kind of civilization are we faced with? And so it seems, even to the inexperienced eye, that our fate falls into the hands of one man who seeks the praise and support of the downtrodden. All of it dependent on a chaos of causes, all of it out of control.
A job is security and an integral part of one’s existence. We’ve all heard how man spends a third of his life in bed, therefore, sleep must be important. But we also spend a third of ours lives at work and without work we have no bed. So, how important is a job?
The lot of man, of our culture, is uncertainty. For those of us who had lofty goals and high aspirations we now find ourselves with no jobs or future. The lucky ones will shuffle papers or boxes in a fashion they hope will pass. They will leave their homes by crowed transport with expectations of doing another perfunctory day’s toil. All to just fall behind, all doomed to failure in the future.
Again I ask, what does our future hold? In coming days are we to worry from year to year about our ability to get work? We all want to improve our lot, but unfortunately our worst fears all too frequently come true. We once had the rich to look toward and envy, to endeavor to mirror. But now, the taxes they bear have reduced their number and even their clever accountants can’t save them.
States and governments promise us security and then give us restrictions which make that seem unrealistic at best. From day to day new threats impose itself on our existence. In a world where government is king, man is but a cog in the big machine. We are told of new governmental developments meant to succor, but they are developments that reduce man to servitude. Where have the dreams gone?
Advertisements are thrust at us in our transports on the way to work. Newspapers, street ads, radio and television all give us things to own. A number of delightful things to buy as presents for our young. But who is making these things? Not us. And if we were, we couldn’t afford to own them – not on our pay. That leaves us ashamed and wondering if our shoes will make do another year. What does that do to one’s morale? What does that do to the esteem of a society?
The bloodiest wars and revolutions in history have been borne from such travesty. Whole dynasties have become extinct from such despair. Not all shall suffer such fate, but if not you, you will be one of the lucky ones. The suffering of the masses and dependency on government is on the move. The onerous strife put on the few who tote the load is lessening the number of those left to fight. And as jobs get fewer it becomes more and more exacting to hold one.
Many blame the Bush Administration’s tyranny for this plight, but more often than not, one tyranny is replaced by another. Along with Obama’s voice of “change” comes a more despotic rule. One of nationalization of industry and one of placing an entire society in the hands of a self-serving government. One of expanding the proletariat in order to stay in power. After all, when one is totally dependent on government, who dare stop the flow? Look around, that goes by the way of Venezuela as well. Doesn’t it?

Comment by Chief Hypocrite on 12 July 2009:
Yes, I believe it does. As one who appreciates the benefits inherent in the theory of socialism and communism for that matter, I wonder who, today, can possibly continue to support those isms in practice, when all we know in reality shows that they are mere tools of the dictator and do not exist on this earth per theory. Obama convinced or rather coincided with my desire for some change, but those isms are not the change I want.
