Tavis Smiley “No Excuses”

Yesterday, Tavis eloquently but basically said the Democrats control the white house, the Senate, the House. They will have no excuse if they do not implement policies that improve every American life, fix all problems, cure cancer, just kidding but you probably get his point. He also thinks there is a double standard for the Geithner nomination for Treasury Secretary, but he will be confirmed. So what is new?

I digress, but today Obama put transparency and some other high minded items on the agenda in public ways by issuing some executive orders. All good by the way.

Then of course, his administrations scheduled three important meetings to consider Guantanamo, Tarp (I think) and some other important meeting about the economy. All are closed to the press.

Back to Tavis, he followed up the no excuses challenge by saying one of the most important things the administration has to do is to find out how the previous administration blew the first $350 Billion of the Tarp funds. Why had it not trickled down to consumers, why no transparency, why no lending, why no benefit?

Barack and his advisors do understand, including Geither who was instrumental in everything to do with TARP and more, but will not emphasize for obvious post partisan political reasons. They understand that we still have a banking system. Due directly to the Capital injections from the Bush portion of TARP that helped many banks meet regulatory Capital Requirements.

Most who complain do not know the difference between Capital Requirements and Capitol Spending.
