Palin Far Exceeds Expectations in VP Debate

Luntz said Palin won; CNN and CBS say Biden won.

Governor Sarah Palin (R) Alaska and Republican VP nominee far exceeded expectation in Thusday’s debate according to a CNN poll 84% said so. Senator Joe Biden (D) Delaware was better at expressing his views, giving him 52 percent to Palin’s 36 percent. 51.  A ocus group by pollster Frank Luntz conducted during he debate made up of undecided voters favorably reacted to Palin.

A CBS poll released at 4:11 AM Fiiday morning said 46 percent of uncommitted voters who watched the Thursday debate thought Joe Biden was the winner, while only 21 percent thought Sarah Palin won. One-third thought it was a draw.

Bizarrely Reuters  the European based news service contacted the Presidential Debate Commission before Thursday’s debate to inquire of any plans to check Palin’s ear canal for electronics lest she get answers.

Post debate fact checking showed both candidates stretched the truth to their respective advantage. Not surprisingly opinion broke along partisan lines. Although the economy has taken the top spot much of the debate as about Iraq and Afghanistan, and voters split. Palin’s “Joe Six Pack” approach and talk about paying your credit cards resonated with voters. Her performance will change McCain strategy and Palin will be pushed forward in the campaign.

Much is beig made of Palin “ruby slippers” that she wore. They were not “slipped” but red “peep toes high heeled shoes to compliment her black skirt. So, Palin won the fashion vote.

There Is 1 Response So Far. »

  1. Could the bar have been any lower? I doubt it. She gets points for style, but nothing for substance or an understanding of the real issues facing Americans. She does just fine with canned responses that she repeats over and over and over and over. Palin did not answer one question Gwen Ifill asked. She had her own agenda and ran her own side show circus.

The winking, smirking and eye rolling do not portray someone who is “folksy” or “empathetic.” She’s snide, sneering, snotty and arrogant. She is neither intelligent nor witty. Even Dan Quayle didn’t have to be hidden away for days on end rehearsing for a debate.

If this is vice presidential material (and potentially presidential material) then I’m afraid Putin and Ahmadinejad are right: It is indeed the end of America’s leadership position in the global arena.
