Post Election Selection Syndrome Clogged Counseling Couches

Before the (Bush Derangement Syndrome) or PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) came PEST (Post Election Selection Trauma).  Some local Democrats in this wildly liberal community of Santa Barbara got PEST bad after the 2004 reelection of George W. Bush.. The “Santa Barbara Newspresssaid in a pre-Thanksgiving article in 2004 the reelection of President Bush and the defeat of Senator John Kerry has apparently sent many to the therapist’s couch.”

Admittedly Santa Barbara is not typical and it is said there are only three jobs exists in what is known as the Peoples’ Republic of Santa Barbara, i.e., COUNSELOR OR REAL ESTATE AGENT and LAWYERS to sue both and most of the real estate agents are already clogging shrink coaches. In a town where Valium and its derivatives have long been the most prescribed “legal medication” in the town a McCain win could require bussing in counselors to relieve coach congestion. Counselors said they were inundated after the 2004 election by people who need help coping with the Bush reelection. It didn’t take long for PEST to provide conservative radio talk-show hosts with ample fodder.

Nationally syndicated radio talk show host and Santa Barbara resident Dr. Laura Schlessinger pointed out there was no such rush by conservatives to psychotherapy during the eight-year reign of Bill Clinton. Now if they can just get this covered by medical insurance

  1. Nice to see a point of view from someone who lives in SB that actually thinks the way I do. I wonder what kind of mental condition the people of SB will come up with when McCain/Palin gets into office. Hmmmm….
