Former New York Mayor and presidential hopeful Rudy Guilliani set it up and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and McCain VP pick knocked it out of the park with her 10:30 PM speech at the GOP Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. Newt Gingrich thinks she should debate Barack Obama – he would never do that because she would clean his clock. The game is afoot.

Dissert (di-SUHRT) verb intr.: To speak or write at length on a subject. From Latin disserere (to arrange in order), from dis- (apart, away) + serere (to join). Ultimately from the Indo-European root ser- (to line up), that is also the source of words such as series, assert, desert (to abandon), desert (a dry sandy region), sort, consort, and sorcerer.

ince John McCain’s running mate Sarah Palin said Monday that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter — Bristol is five months pregnant - main stream media can talk of little else. Bristol will keep the baby and marry the child’s teenaged father. Bristol was the young woman seen standing behind her mother cradling her baby brother during Friday’s announcement by John McCain that Sarah is his Vice Presidential running mate.

“Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,” Sarah and Todd Palin said in the brief statement.

“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family,” they added.

The entire incident has provoked some very nasty attacks on Bristol and her mother that both McCain and Obama decried by Monday. Obama could do less since he is the product of an out-of-wedlock conception and his mother birthed him at age 18.

If there could be a more personal test of a parent’s pro-life beliefs than this I can not imagine what it could be. Daily Kos the vile website has been spreading a story that Sarah Palin faked her own pregnancy to shield her daughter – turns out that was just another lie.

ast Monday Israel’s Army Radio reported details of the alarming and revealing comments Senator Joe Biden ( D) DE. made when he met with “senior Israeli officials behind closed doors” telling them to:

a.) accept a nuclear armed Iran;

b.) sanctions would do no good, and

c.) he “opposed additional military and diplomatic fronts against Iran.”

Israeli officials were understandably shocked by Biden’s comments. Biden is Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee giving his comments additional importance because they reflect at least part of official U. S. policy.

Now, because Biden is Obama’s VP pick this is seen as a troubling signal of future acts. Obama continues to give mixed signals on the Iran threat. During the Democratic primary he argued for direct negotiations with Iran and to argue for his Rodney King-like foreign policy. Last Monday Obama said he would continue to use diplomatic means to stop Iran’s nuclear program. Obama has avoided making any suggestion the U.S. should take military action against Iran.

Within Israel, a consensus across the political spectrum has developed on the Iran matter. Iran’s president Ahmadinejad has stated that he will wipe Israel off the map, making clear his use weapons of mass destruction against the Jewish state.

Biden has been seen as pro-Israel, and his public statements conflict with the recently released “closed door” comments that most see as anti-Israel or even pro-Iran.

Other recent reports also contradict Biden’s pro-Israeli stance by tying him as “a great friend of the Mulahs” according to statements by Kaveh Mohseni of the anti-Iranian theocracy STUDENT MOVEMENT COORDINATION COMMITTEEE FOR DEMOCRACY IN IRAN. (SMCCDI) its website says consist of students inside and outside of Iran, as well as Iranian professionals who share the students’ vision of a free, independent, democratic, secular and industrialized Iran. The group is exiled and is headquartered in Texas and is one of the strongest anti-Iranian groups.

Mohseni has exposed numerous ties between Biden and Iran including accepting tens of thousands of dollars in contributions from pro-Iran individuals and groups with very close ties to Iran.

Billionaire liberal financier George Soros has donated another $400,000 backing the ballot measure that would loosen penalties and expand rehabilitation programs for nonviolent drug offenders in California. Soros has now given $1.4 million to the Yes on 5 campaign.

emocratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden is denying the report that he secretly told Israeli officials they would have to accept the idea that Iran will acquire nuclear weapons. Israeli Army Radio said on Monday that the senator from Delaware, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with “senior Israeli officials” behind closed doors during a visit and told them: “Israel with have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran” and Biden opposed “opening an additional military and diplomatic front” against Iran. Biden’s spokesman David Wade declared: “This is a lie peddled by partisan opponents of Senators Obama and Biden, and we will not tolerate anyone questioning Senator Biden’s 35-year record of standing up for the security of Israel.

“Senator Biden has consistently stated - publicly and privately - that a nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat to Israel and the United States and that we must prevent a nuclear Iran.”

During the primaries Obama argued for direct negotiations with Iran, and he has avoided making any suggestion that the U.S. should take military action against Iran.

Israeli sources are sticking with their claim. The consensus is that Israel is disquieted at the prospect of an Obama presidency.

hina’s Olympic BIG SHEW as Ed Sullivan used to say every Sunday night, turned out to be more show than substance. Despite agreements with the United States, China continues to use forced prison labor to produce products sent to the U.S., a Chinese human rights activist said. Harry Wu, executive director of the Washington-based Laogai Research Foundation, told a congressional commission recently that illegal prison labor practices continue in China, despite two U.S.-China agreements dating from 1992. More than 1,000 forced labor camps operate throughout China, Wu said. Some estimates projects more thana million slave laborers toil 12-16 hours a day seven days a week in terrible conditions to make products for export to fuel the insatiable Chinese communist bureaucracy.

For instance: Hu Jia, detained in Chinese prison under the accusation of “subversion against the state”, may not receive medical care for his liver disease or communicate with his family: the guards confiscate his letters and books, and will not permit him to speak with his relatives or his lawyer. Restrictions are also in place against his wife. Two elderly women, 77 and 79, could face a year of “reeducation through labor” because they applied for permits to demonstrate during the Olympics because their home had been seized and they were turned out into the street. China considers its citizens chattel (property) to be exploited as it sees fit.

Human’s Rights organizations prefer to prosecute abuses in developed countries where even relatively trivial violation can bring them massive monetary rewards and fund raising. Investigating the most serious problems, like slavery in China, is just too hard and dangerous.

he Bush administration continues to be conciliatory toward Russia in the aftermath of the war in Georgia. The U. S. and Russia see NATO as little more that a paper tiger and a handful of tin shoildiers. Moscow is determined to maintain influence and control over its “near abroad,” as the former Soviet republics are called.

U. S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice appears unwilling to admit the obvious that being that Putin carefully picked his target feinting to Georgia while sharpening its knives for Ukraine and its 50 million people and strategic seaport on the Black Sea.

Frankly Rice seems Pollyannaish that any amount of rebuilding and support for Georgia matters. Pish posh. It is like saving the doghouse while the main buildings are burning.

For its part Russia believes America is about to swerve into a new era of impotent isolationism and it can fill that vacuum while a flaccid NATO huffs and puffs while Russia welds its veto on the UN Security Council to block meaningful action and it takes what it wants.

n 2004 the U.S. intelligence community had information that Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction arsenal had been hustled into the Bekaa Valley in Syria before the U. S. invaded. Now it looks like those reports are right. Syrian President Assad’s top military guy was killed on a beach to ensure he took his secrets with him. Now thoise secrets are oozing out.

In fact it is likely Syria intended to use the Iraq systems, platform and components had its plutonium enrichment reactor been successful – it was not because the Israeli’s destroyed it in Fall, 2007.

The WMD convoys were spotted by U.S. satellites in early 2003, but the contents of the convoys from Iraq to Syria were not confirmed. Confirmation later came from Iraqi scientists and technicians questioned by a U.S. team that was searching for Saddam’s conventional weapons. But all they knew was that the convoys were heading west to Syria.

It is clear that much, if not all, of Iraq’s biological and chemical weapons assets are being protected by Syria, with Iranian help, in the Bekaa Valley.

The Syrians received word from Saddam Hussein in late 2002 that the Iraqi WMD would be arriving and Syrian army engineering units began digging huge trenches in the Bekaa Valley. Saddam paid more than $30 million in cash for Syria to build the pits, acquire the Iraqi WMD and conceal them.

At first, U.S. intelligence thought Iraqi WMD was stored in northern Syria. But in February 2003 a Syrian defector told U.S. intelligence that the WMD was buried in or around three Syrian Air Force installations. But intelligence sources said the Syrians kept dual-use nuclear components for themselves while transferring the more incriminating material to Lebanon (the Bekaa Valley runs into Lebanon.)

The Bush administration did not disclose this intelligence in part because the liberal U. S. main stream media would brand it a lie and side with Syria. It is believed the agents have literally recovered WMD material but because that involved invaded the sovereignty of Syrian territory those sources have remained mute.

Now new information points to Assad accepted the WMD technology and killing his “friend” to stop the trail dead-in-its tracks” as it were.

ormer Clintonista ‘Cueball’ Carville made a big show last weekend by holding up a photo of the tiny City Hall where McCain VP pick Sarah Palin was Mayor before being overwhelmingly elected Alaska’s Governor claiming a small town city hall disqualifies her as Vice President. Palin supporters rightly point out that Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden together and the only thing either of them has ever run are their mouths. Palin has an 80% job approval rating from Alaskans.

Labor Day an 86-year-old Fargo woman did what she’s always done: work. Lucy Dumas has been earning an income for more than 70 years. After 40 years of running a Hillsboro cafe she now works full-time at a fast-food restaurant. Her children say they have given up asking her to slow down.

laska Gov. Sarah Palin and McCain VP pick employed a lobbying firm to secure almost $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of 6,700 residents while she was its mayor, according to an analysis by an independent government watchdog group including: $500,000 for a youth shelter, $1.9 million for a transportation hub, $900,000 for sewer repairs, and the biggest chunk of $15 million for a rail project. intended to connect Wasilla with the town of Girdwood, where now disgraced Senator Ted Stevens has a house. Although neither the watchdog group nor the Washington Post it is unclear whether Palin had anything to do with that project.

Palin did oversee hiring Robertson, Monagle & Eastaugh, an Anchorage-based law firm with close ties to Alaska’s most senior Republicans: Rep. Don Young and Sen. Ted Stevens, who was indicted in July on charges of accepting illegal gifts.

McCain’s crusade against earmarks — federal spending sought by members of Congress to benefit specific projects — has been a hallmark of his campaign. He has said earmarks are wasteful and are often inserted into bills with little oversight, sometimes by a single powerful lawmaker.

Palin has also railed against earmarks, touting her rejecting the $223 million so-called bridge to nowhere in the state as a prime credential for the vice presidential nomination. “As governor, I’ve stood up to the old politics-as-usual, to the special interests, to the lobbyists, the big oil companies, and the good-ol’-boy network.

(Palin) certainly wasn’t shy about putting the old-boy network to use to bring home millions of dollars,” said Steve Ellis, vice president of Taxpayers for Common Sense. “She’s a little more savvy to the ways of Washington than she’s let on.” In her final four years as Mayor she raked in $1,000 per resident – nearly $7 million – before getting elected Governor.

Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, secured $300 million in earmarks, including 7-figures for the “non-profit” hospital where his wife was employed that raised her salary to over $300,000 a year. He requested over 100 more earmarks for 2008 adding another $100 million or so. Then he announced that he would no longer seek earmarks for any entity. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Del.), Obama’s VP running mate, co-sponsored $85.6 million in earmarks for 2008, according to one study.

ran’s growing closeness with leftist Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez had led to hundreds of Iranian intelligence and special warfare (terrorism) operatives being dispatched to South America. It was only a decade ago that such Iranian operations were shut down there, in the wake of terror attacks against Jews in Argentina. One truck bomb attack in 1994 killed 85 Argentineans, most of them Jewish. This horrified people throughout the region, and the backlash caused Iranian diplomats and terrorism operatives to run for cover. But with Venezuela as a safe, and hospitable, base, Iranian death squads are again up and running in South America.

Chavez has contested Columbia’s fight to dismantle FARC and end the domination of the drug cartel, and menaces neighbors.

Paraguay elected a former Catholic bishop, and leftist Fernando Armindo Lugo Méndez, in its April 20th presidential election ending the 61-year conservative pro-western government. Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was one of the first to congratulate Lugo on his victory. Iran’s media praised Lugo by calling him “a man of God and an enemy of the Great Satan.”

Ahmadinejad plans to balance America’s presence in the Middle East by creating his own allies in the Western Hemisphere, and Lugo’s victorious presidential campaign gives Ahmadinejad another friend in what Washington has traditionally considered its traditional backyard. Paraguay has a large Muslim population.

OPEC has been one vehicle for Iranian/Latin American cooperation. Initiated by Venezuela in 1960, this global cartel now has two Latin American member states, after Ecuador rejoined last year. With both Brazil and Bolivia now prospective new members of OPEC, Iran expects to do more crude business with several Latin American clients. Iran has already established relations with Cuba, Brazil, and of course Venezuela.

The backbone of this cabal political and religious: sharing hostility towards American imperialism and resurrecting and adapting the pro-Marxist liberation theology that fomented so much destruction in Latin countries but, that fizzled with the dissolution of the USSR and loses of it as its piggy bank.

Avowed communist President Ortega of Nicaragua has also expressed his anti-America views siding with Chavez and Iran. Nicaragua received a $231million loan from Iran in 2007 to build a hydroelectric dam. In August of 2008, Nicaraguan-Iranian relations were further consolidated when Ahmadinejad donated $2 million for the construction of a hospital.

Further indicators are Venezuela and Brazil publically announced support for Iran’s nuclear energy program. President Lula of Brazil has been quoted as saying, “[Iran] should not be punished just because of Western suspicions [that] it wants to make an atomic bomb.”

nti-Semitic news agencies and groups are urging a vote for Obama. Wh wwWWites have been on the side of Israel rather than with Muslim countries while blacks do otherwise. “We now have a ray of hope in Obama,” according to the Arab News, which claims to be the Arab world’s leading English-language daily newspaper.

Ali Alarabi, writing for the London-based Alarab says that Arab and Muslim Americans should vote for Obama.  It contends Obama still maintains a wide appeal among Muslims because his father was a Kenyan Muslim, the Israeli news source Arutz Sheva disclosed.

Anti-Israeli Hamas leaders said several weeks ago they hope Obama wins, and Arutz Sheva, a pro-Israel news site, reports a group of pro-Obama Palestinian students in Gaza is conducting a telephone campaign aimed at American voters to convince them to vote for Obama.

Other sources have linked Obama VP Joe Biden with anti-Israel Iranian interests who have financed him, and paid his lobbyist son Hunter.
