After 25 years of writing for others I am now writing for myself and for the sheer fun of it. As for my "PC Fugitive" name that is in reference to my complete abhorrence to anything labeled "politically correct". I also have a unique perspective on the current financial problems. I spent 10 years in banking from 1980-1990 which was during the height of bank deregulations. I then spent seven years ending in 2005 as a consultant to banks and credit unions advising them on how to become more profitable.

Goodbye Mark Spitz

Thank you from the girls!

Michael Phelps I know that I just watched history as Michael Phelps won his 8th gold medal. I am happy for him and congratulate him on his brilliant showing in the Olympics.

And yet a part of me is sorry to see Mark Spitz’s seven medals beaten. Not because it is the end of an era but because now there will no longer be a reason to show those wonderful pictures of Mark in his swimsuit. Oh my…. Way back when, Mark Spitz and his poster was to teenage girls what Farrah Faucet was to teenage boys. So goodbye Mark Spitz, but just know that Phelps may have beaten your medal count but no one will ever come close to the impact that you in a swimsuit made on a generation of teenage girls….Speaking of the Olympics, don’t forget to check out The Tao’s blogs from China which is also available on Hypocrisy.com.     i agree, pc, this kind of brings a tear to my eye, too. so long, mark. time to pass the baton. phelps is the new hottie for another generation to pin up and spin dreams around. even more heartbreaking, i must now face the image of myself in a swimsuit and bawl my eyes out.

    Surely Michael Phelps will have a similarly large impact on people who enjoy admiring men in swimsuits. For some, I think, it isn’t just their physical appearance, but also the huge amount of medals they’ve won.
