Richard Cochrane is trained in chemistry and metallurgy but is far more interested and practiced as a political and fund raising consultant, writer and amateur historian. He grew up in a Navy family and with his two younger brothers carried on its 500+ year tradition of naval service to Great Britain and the USA then enjoyed a career with one of the largest advertising and public relations agencies working with numerous Fortune 500 companies and many of America's premier educational institutions. He maintains friendships and acquaintanceships around the world. He lives in Santa Barbara, California.

BREAKING NEWS
Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol reported on FOX NEWS shortly before 2PM West coast time Wednesday that former Bush I Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama and speak on Wednesday 8-27-08 in Denver at the Democrat National Convention. Kristol said he does not believe Powell will be Obama’s VP nominee although that person will speak and accept the nomination the same night.

Fox has yanked the story. We in the Kremlin are bely laughing in the mens room over this one. Maybe Kristol sabotaged any hope Obama had of this actually happening. Powell was rated as a weak general, first rate politician. The US would be negotiating to this day with Saddam if Powell had his way. By the way, it is well known in Washington[inside the beltway] that Powell’s wife viz her medical condition would never allow it.

Ivan - Powell was called a “Perfumed Prince” in my presence among a bunch of brass at the puzzle palace during Desert Storm. No one has to convince me.
