Does Sudetenland come to mind in the predictable Russian initiated war in Georgia?
[Ras]Putin’s excuse is “ethnic Russian” lives at stake—not saying that the population was intentionally salted with same not only in South Ossetia, but the Baltic states[Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia] as well as Azerbaijan [Nagorno Karabakh inside surrogate Armenia], all of which have similar conflicts. In the Baltic, it is the defacing of monuments to “soviet liberators” and the alleged reemergence of nazi sympathies. In Azerbaijan it is the christian Armenian minority who might be ethnically cleansed—except that the violence has stemmed FROM the Armenians–Russia’s most effective “Ghurkas”.
Lets see if a Chamberlin or a Churchill develops. The UN is apparently as effete as the League of Nations was in the 1930 era.

Ivan- McCain called it when he said he saw a KGB agent when he looked into Putin’s eyes. Over 1,000 have already died.
