July 9th Article “Secret Oil Cap Pact Reported ” Exposed U. S. - Iranian Backroom Talk and Deal
Hypocrisy.com scooped all U. S. media and today’s announcement that US Under Secretary of State William Burns will join the meeting the European Union’s Javier Solana holds with Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in Geneva this week makes official the secret diplomatic track afoot between Washington and Tehran, which was disclosed here as Secret Oil Cap Pact Reported on July 9th on efforts to keep crude oil costs under $150 a barrel; and that U. S. would not attack Iran, and Iran will restrain al Qaeda in Iraq.
Today’s disclosure signals that Israel is even more on its own in any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Middle East news sources are speculating that today’s public announcement is at least partly designed to deflate next week’s Obama “world tour.” Main Stream Media today have acted as if they had a scoop and portrayed it as a flip flop by Bush.

Nice reporting, Richard. Why is this being considered a flip-flop? Any level of diplomacy is bad? I don’t get it…
Jason Blanchards last blog post..Al Gore shows true colors….yet again
Comment by Richard Cochrane on 17 July 2008:
Jason - only American and certain leftwing European media see it somehow wrong. I am told but do not know such lower level diplomacy has been underway for at least 3-years. But, anti-Ameerica “Bush-haters” are a worthless lot wherever honest is required.
