Dr. Strangelove-like A.Q. Khan Real Life "Mad Scientist" And Perfect Chief Hypocrite

He wants the West to suffer casualtiesAbdul Qadeer ( A. Q. ) Khan the disgraced architect and “Dr. Strangelove” of Pakistan's nuclear weapons program and international nuclear technology proliferator said Friday that it provided centrifuges to North Korea in a 2000 shipment supervised by the army under President Pervez Musharraf. His new statement contradicts his 2004 confession that he was solely responsible for spreading nuclear technology to Iran, North Korea and Libya - and Pakistan's repeated denials its army or government knew about Khan's nuclear proliferation activities. Khan also claims President Pervez Musharraf knew about the transfers. A Musharraf spokesman denied Khan’s claim.

It has always been counter intuitive that Khan could have singlehandedly arranged such TOP SECRET shipments to the three countries. Further it seems unlikely Khan would have escaped punishment – although he has been under close house arrest or some time - unless he knew too much or had squirreled away incriminating evidence. Khan has become increasingly agitated that although only lightly guarded he is not free to come and go as he pleased having said before that is what he was promised.

Khan is an Islamic hero for arming the Muslim country with nuclear weapons. It has been widely believed that Khan had close ties and help setting up what became a worldwide nuclear technology and bomb making equipment network. It is known that Khan had visited North Korea to get missiles for use against Indian’s forces during the Kashmir conflict, and some speculate part of those deals were promises for help to make a nuclear bomb.

  1. There is only one "perfect" Chief Hypocrite. There are many imperfect ones. For additional insight into Kahn, see Hurricane's July 4 article http://hypocrisy.com/2008/07/04/a-convenient-political-tool/
