Fountains of red-hot magma have blown the tops off dozens of submarine volcanoes in the Arctic since 1999.
A $5 Million expedition was financed by NASA and the U.S. National Science Foundation, and led by geophysicist Robert Sohn of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
They returned with images and data showing that red-hot magma has been rising from deep inside the earth and blown the tops off dozens of submarine volcanoes, four kilometres below the ice. “Jets or fountains of material were probably blasted one, maybe even two, kilometres up into the water,” says geophysicist Robert Sohn of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, who led the expedition.
The scientists estimate that the magma was mixed with CO2 and shot out at 500 meters per second (that’s about 1,118 mph). They think the CO2 from the eruptions contributed to the rising concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Although, they don’t think it relates to melting sea ice, this article matches up the eruption dates with the arctic ice melts, and it looks suspicious. They include a graph that shows a steep, rapid decline in ice around 1999, lasting until recently. With 1998 being a key alarmist “hottest-year” date, the arctic melts lined up nicely for the alarmists purposes….until now. Could there be natural causes for our nature changing? Say it isn’t so.
Hopefully, more research will be done to see if the two are linked. If they are, we could outlaw those pesky volcanoes, and our climate might never change again!

Jason - In addition to the ban hydrogen dioxide I circulated petitions and sold T-shirts to “STOP TECTONIC PLATES” which remains my favorite t-shirt albeit it is getting a bit thread bare. Never - ever underestimate people’s igorance and stupidity

Richard, those are both worthy causes, hehe. Most days, I feel we need a “Save the Sheep” campaign.
