   Hello Folks: Just an FYI that I called Fagan’s office minutes ago and got his assistant. Apparently Representative Fagan is out and will not be in until Monday. I told his assistant that I’d like to interview him about his controversial explosion on the House floor and he told me to call him in the Morning on Monday. I have two children, one a girl who is eleven and I have no patience for this stuff. I will phone him right after 9 a.m. Monday and put him on the spot. Let’s see if he actually agrees to an interview.

   Now, on the impeachment issue? Yeah, let’s impeach Fagan for a few odious comments on the House floor? If that’s an impeachable offense, then George Bush should have been impeached years ago. Sorry, folks, but what’s right for one is right for all.

   My grandfather became the first OB/GYN in a small NC town back in the 50’s. For a decade or so, he was the only doctor in town. He worked many pro bono cases for the good of the people…later figuring he worked for free more often than not. Many simply couldn’t afford, but desperately needed, a doctor. Due to many frivolous malpractice lawsuits, his view of lawyers is biased, and he passed along a good deal of that to me. But he also taught me this…

   If you’re on trial for a serious crime, would you want an honest lawyer representing you? Or, would you want the scum of the earth, that would stop at nothing to ensure your freedom? Many of us hypocrites would say “the honest one, of course” but then pick the scumbag who would figure out a way to have charges acquitted. I believe that is the point H.A. James Fagan was trying to make. But, holy cow he went about it in the wrong way. And, is he a horse’s ass? AbsoLUTELY!

   Obviously FAGAN is ethically and morally disabled. But, his disability doesn’t qualify him for a free ride in one of those motorized wheelchairs from one of RUDY GUILIANI’S legal clients.
   What he said is the product from the Southern end of a Northbound horse.

   Very nice! On my blog, Mr. Fagan got the “Richard Head” award, in a tie with the SCOTUS, on the heels of their 5-4 decision to not allow Louisiana to execute a couple of child rapists. I feel particularly obligated to rebuke Fagan’s outrageous comments because I actually live in the bastard’s district.

   He should resign, or be recalled. As Deb said, comments however bad are not exactly grounds for impeachment. One thing though Deb, I may not agree with everything G.W. Bush has said and done, but two things are true: He has NEVER publically said anything nearly as offensive as what Mr. Fagan has said, and this country has not been attacked by terrorists since 9/11. Too few people give the man credit for that, and I for one am grateful for it.

   This is also not the first time he has used his position as a Legislator to try and influence public policy in a manner favorable to his position as a defense attorney. He has previously spoken in favor of raising the State’s legal blood-alcohol level from .08 to .20, which favors the drunk drivers he also defends. He obviously doesn’t care about increasing the risk to the rest of us on the road who aren’t driving around drunk.

   He is indeed, a HORSE’S ASS!

   Richard: Nobody is suggesting that Fagan get a free ride. There’s a thing called censure that can be used. And the people can vote him the hell out of office. However, I think it requires a bit more than shooting off your rather large and stupid mouth to begin impeachment proceedings.

   As for the media coverage, I’m not sure it’s a national issue, Richard. This guy is a pretty obscure politician. I honestly don’t know of any national paper that pays much attention to local politics.

   Fagan is also my rep. I have been active in trying to get Jessica’s Law passed in Mass., and so I met with Fagan last year to ask for his support. While I don’t have enough space or time to convey all the outrageous things he said to me, here is something very respresentative of his belief system: In response to my comment that a recent rapist only got four years in jail for repeatedly raping a girl from when she was 6 years old to 10, he told me that four years in jail is a long time, even for rape of a child!

   This guy does not believe in making people do time for their crime. He is a defense lawyer first, a politician second, and a human being third. The proposed bill only imposes a 10-year mandatory sentence, and there are many restrictions on imposing the 10 years. It is NOT a tough bill at all.

   And do you really think any lawyer in his right mind is going to “rip apart” a 6-year-old in front of a jury?

   Let’s not lose sight of what this tells us about this guy — that he is looking out for the criminals. We need to elect people that are concerned with protecting law-abiding citizens. Fagan seems to have forgotten the he works for us. It is an honor to be elected to office, not a right.

   We might start a web site for “The Committee To Defeat Fagan in 2008″ so we can start to take back control of our government.

    I’m from Boston and it has been a blip on the screen here. It received a couple of stories from the local papers. I called Fagan’s office and left a message after the incident occurred and I sent messages to the media here after the HAAs were mailed out, but I never saw anything in the paper.

    I have also not heard anything about a political movement to recall Fagan. My guess is that it will be a defeat Fagan movement when his term is up again. I’ve heard nothing more on that either.

    By the way, Governor Deval Patrick signed Jessica’s Law after it was passed.

    About the Fagan articles, Deb, do you have links to the local paper articles? Since you are from Boston, you should consider trying to interview your Mitt Romney replacement. That would be interesting to many.

    I don’t think a recall is the way to go, nor would it work. We are planning on starting defeatfagan2008.com site. Because it is summer, time is short, but we will get it done before long.

    I personally spoke to Fagan on this matter last year, and I left that meeting feeling the need to take a shower. The man is completely dedicated to keeping criminals OUT of jail. He is a dangerous person in a position of power.

    As for Gov. Patrick signing “Jessica’s Law,” that bill is a FAR, FAR cry from Jessica’s Law and should not be referred to as such. And our fine governor never once spoke out in support of Jessica’s Law and deserves absolutely no credit for signing the sorry excuse for a child protection bill that he did sign.
