Being Executed? Take Next Weeks TV Guide.

I can't wait

The problem with the Republican Party is there are too many Republicans in it, a lifelong Democrat insists on repeatedly telling me. Ann Coulter, the willowy wild woman, is saying she will vote for Hillary if McCain is the GOP nominee, and Rush is in a similar rant. They and so-called Obamacans (Republicans threatening to vote for Barack Obama) are prancing around a mixture of sadomasochistic puerile political petulance and quivering lipped eat worms and die irrationality. Peeking through the crack under the cellar door are those with a necessarily narrow view professing that disaffection and contrary voting will bring about a one term Billary, Barrack or combination resulting in a national Republican epiphany in 2012 enshrining them as Lincolnesque-like saviors. That is as crazy as taking next week’s TV Guide to your own execution.

Were this a10th grade class president election the strong odor of acne medicine would be expected. But, it is not. John McCain, who tolerated the intolerable as a POW, admittedly and stubbornly has refused to ceremonially fling himself onto party funeral pyres and is the most expletive deleted and saltiest of Senators. Yes McCann-Feingold is as inexplicable as the Kennedy-McCain immigration bill but in sum do not counter weight a lifetime of national service, and the simple fact is that only McCain has a snowball’s chance of beating Hillary Clinton.

To urge Rush-Ann-Chuck, et. al. to huff into a paper bag to avoid hyperventilation is likely a waste of my breath. I do and will argue for practicality. After all if McCain fails in November they can blame it all on him and still officiously say that they were right all along. If he wins they can take credit for self-restraint and then savagely sharp shoot him for however long he is in office – there is no use capturing and torturing McCain; professionals did that for 5 ½ years and failed to break him.

  1. You go on about how McCain is a war hero. Since he was an officer he no doubt was treated better than any enlisted man. There are many other war heros of Viet Nam who have never said a thing about their service or time in POW camps. John McCain had it easy compared to my father. His Viet Nam service though honorable and deserving of respect is no reason to believe he should be the president. His leaning to the left and continually dirty tricks and refusal to represent the will of his own state are just a few reasons he should never be president. If Viet Nam war service is all that is required to be president then no doubt John Kerry was fully qualified based on the number of times he’s mentioned that he was in Viet Nam. Let’s get over Viet Nam and elect someone who is truly conservative or elect a democrat and let her take the blame when the country goes to hell.
