Muted Press Reaction Points to Press Disappointment

Hills (D)Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman were visibly muted in their response to the Clinton win in New Hampshire because they did have a dog in this hunt and theirs did not win. So shocked were they that they quietly listened to Tom Brokaw lecture them about trying too hard to predict with polls what the voter is going to do.

“People are not as honest with polls anymore” Brokaw lectured. Let the voter speak for himself in the booth. He had to console Chris somewhat when he wondered aloud what they would do without the poll predictions.

A shocked and much happier Hillary Clinton gave a heartfelt grin and “thank you, so much” and even her enemies knew she meant it.

“I’ve come tonight with a very, very full heart and I want especially to thank New Hampshire, I listened to you and in the process I found my own voice.”

Bill and now Hills claim the comeback label.

In an interesting side note, Howard Wolfson of the Clinton campaign said all the campaigns came out of Iowa and spent the last 5 days working again without any sleep, going to far as getting up as dawn and working till dusk. Hmm.
